A grand wedding venue in Kansas City, Missouri, the Simpson House exudes elegance and finery of another time, lending itself to be the perfect location to host your wedding day. Both indoor and out, the entirety of this venue’s grounds are impeccably designed and maintained and provide ample picturesque backdrops and aromatic gardens. Made of breathtaking limestone in the early 1900s, the Simpson House has been a staple of refined grace in its time of creation.

Facilities and Capacity
The lovely Simpson House has three event spaces to offer couples on their big day. This includes the first floor, basement area and outdoor (uncovered and covered) grounds. The management ask that groups keep guest capacity to 150 people to ensure that the most comfortable arrangement is upheld. The first floor is made up of a great hall, dining room, solarium, covered porch, foyer and kitchen, all of which is accessible to the party. Upon request, the second floor can be used as a dressing room.

Amazing Venue

The Simpson House was perfect for our wedding. It's beautiful, the manager is easy to work with and it gives the flexibility to make it unique. There are hotels within walking distance which was a big plus.

Love, love, love this venue! Charming, elegant, quaint but not too small and just the right amount of vintage class. Charles is wonderful to work with and you cannot beat their flexibility on food and beverage, not to mention the amazing rental fees. This place is a great for a wedding, private event, shower, special birthday and offers indoor and outdoor space. It's a gem in the heart of our city!

The Simpson House was the perfect location for our small Fall wedding. We were searching for a small elegant location to have our wedding and found The Simpson House. From day one the experience was exceptional the manager Charles did an outstanding job with making us feel welcomed and eased any stress we had regarding the location, payment, wedding setup, parking and timeframe for the day of our wedding. It was truly a blessing from God that my Husband and I found The Simpson House. It happened that The Simpson House Manager was also a pianist and he played at our wedding which made our wedding that much more beautiful. We will have memories for a lifetime thanks to our experience at The Simpson House.

Friday night Rehearsal dinner venue for a Saturday wedding in K.C. We were so so lucky to find Simpson House. It is elegant, clean, historic, very affordable and the people are wonderful to work with. Communication was good and efficient. They were there to let us in to see the house for planning purposes. Price was amazing and the location is great - near downtown hotels, art museum and the plaza. I would recommend this venue for rehearsal, wedding or reception.

The house is beautiful and we had a romantic garden ceremony. It's an incredible value and wonderful location. We had many out-of-town guests and two hotels are a block away. Our guests also enjoyed the plaza during their stay too. One of the staff members, Charles, is a PhD piano student at UMKC and he played at our wedding. He's wonderful and very sweet.

This was a great, classy location. We had the wedding ceremony and the reception here. Was such a wonderful venue. And we got lucky with great weather. They accommodated our needs perfectly and was a great price.

I did not get married in this space but did help with the planning i hope one day i will :-):-):-) I went to one of the best weddings in my life it was amazing! The staff made me feel like i was a bride they were so kind and attentive to everyone the manager Brock was amazing! Never have i been to an event where the staff was so helpful ! It was so hot that i was dreading going to an outdoor wedding in over a hundred degree weather but the way the had it set up i never even noticed the heat. They had plenty of room For all the people to dance and enjoy the night they even moved tables to make additional dance space so we could all have fun with lots of room to spare. My mother planing our family reunion next year and i can't wait to suprise her with this unique and amazing spot i think you could do any event you wanted and they would make it one of a kind *

The Simpson house was perfectly charming. We had the ceremony outside in the yard and it was beautiful! I received many positive comments on this venue. Brock, the manager, was nothing but great to work with. Centrally located in Kansas City. Great location, beautiful house. We had 110 guests and we were very comfortable.

I adore the Simpson House! It's the perfect venue for our small wedding like ours (80 people). The lawn is beautiful and well taken care of, and I love the covered porch. Lots of great photo ops! Brock, the manager is so easy to work with, and he has great ideas of what works and what doesn't work. He's obviously done this a lot, but he still makes you feel special. There's plenty of parking, and it's a great location if you have out of town guests because they can stay right across the street at the Marriott or Holiday Inn. Overall great experience!

I would recommend this venue to EVERYONE wanting to throw a wedding/reception on a budget for a 150 or less people. Me and my husband got married in Hawaii then had our reception here and it turned out better than I expected. Brock (the property mgr) is more than easy to work with and agreed to meet with me anytime I had questions or wanted to do a walk through. This place allows you to bring in your own caterer and bar which was important to me being that I'm kind of a control freak. This property was beyond well maintained and I've had numerous people tell me that my reception was the best one they had ever been too.
Pros: affordable, great location, not tied down to a specific caterer or bar staff, plenty of parking, beautiful property, tables and linens available through venue, property mgr was great to work with.
Cons: only holds 150 people, responsible for clean up afterwards

Simpson House is a beautiful and charming location for an intimate reception. Beautifully manicured private gardens, as well as other uniquely special amenities are available. Simpson House is located in the art district of Kansas City, only steps away from the Kemper Museum of Modern Art, KC Art Institute, and Nelson Atkins museum. The entire neighborhood showcases the artistic side of KC living. With very close access to churches, popular hotels and caterers, the location is convenient for guests and vendors. The mansion itself accommodates fewer than 150 guests for a buffet event, with the great room seating about 60 people. A private parking lot is provided. A lovely stone porch gives you access to outdoor space, where you can even host a ceremony. Californos is a wonderful caterer to hire for this venue, providing all linens, food, drinks and staffing while adhering to the rules and expectations of the venue. We have worked with this venue for years and it has consistently been a hidden jewel among venue choices, a very pleasant experience for brides and their families.
