Highly Recommended For Your Wedding Design Needs
We got married in October 14, 2017. For our wedding invitations, signs, and other paraphernalia, we’re very particular with how we wanted it to look like. We wanted it to be modern, sophisticated, and unique.
For the invitations, we had a vision of when our guests open the invitation, it gives them a sense of opening a special invitation, like uncovering a carefully wrapped gift. The idea is to get them excited for the wedding, and give them a sense that our wedding is not ordinary (especially we planned this wedding for a long time 😉) When our guests get our invitation, it will have unique touches, and it has a bit more intricate design, especially since we have our expert friend working with us. When searching for ideas for unique invitations, I saw laser cut gate folds. I sent Sherdellah several vendors for laser cut gate folds, and Sherdellah was happy to work with us in procuring the gate folds from a new vendor so we can get them for our invitations.
It was a grueling process for me and my husband to arrive at a conclusion as to what would be the final design elements we would like to ask of Sherdellah. My husband is an artist and practical, and I’m very whimsical and particular so we clashed. But Sherdellah was our middle ground, and was good in delivering her expert opinion on the elements we couldn’t agree on. She was great in bringing all the elements that we liked together.
One of the reasons we worked with Sherdellah is that she has a “clean” design. Some invitations, albeit unique, have too much going on and feels too cluttered to me. Her invitations have interesting detail, but inviting to read.
Sherdellah also has great attention to detail. I’m very particular with details, including the content of the invitations. I sent her the document detailing what I wanted, and she executed with perfection. If I remember correctly, I approved the first draft based on my input. I also cringe when I see typographical and grammatical errors; I had no edits in everything she presented to us.
Besides wedding invitations, Sherdellah worked with us on the other graphic design items in our wedding.
• The seating chart was nice and organized. Easy for our guests to spot where they will be seated. She even included a very cute floor plan, which was a great touch.
• She designed our bar menu. It looked great in our cocktail bar.
• She designed our stationery showing the details of our ceremony, reception, and our menu. Even though it was put on a stationery that's small enough to fit on one's hand, it does not look overwhelming with details, and is easy to read.
• She designed our wedding logo. We projected this on the wall in the middle of our reception, and it looked really nice. We also put our wedding logo in our shot glass giveaways.
• I wanted a welcome sign made of wood in which my florist will decorate with flowers and leaves on the side. Instead of buying a welcome sign from Etsy, she worked with a vendor that custom-made our welcome sign, and made sure that its design goes seamlessly with the overall look of our wedding. We still have the welcome sign hanging next to our front door.
• I also wanted our tables named after the places we’ve lived in or have visited. In the table signs, I wanted a picture of us in that place the table was named after. I only mentioned the details to her once, and the draft she showed us was perfect; just how I wanted it.
For our wedding, we had 3 colors. I chose yellow and peach, which reflects my whimsical personality. My now-husband chose gray because it’s a good neutral and goes with everything. At first, I was worried that these colors would not go together. Sherdellah helped us choose the right shade of these colors so all of them will be incorporated in the wedding items we have. I was really happy about that.
I’m also a planner. (My wedding coordinator said I’m the most organized bride she’s worked with. I take that as a high compliment.) Anyway, Sherdellah gave us a timeline on the design process so I was happy with that.
Lastly, she knows my husband so I’m glad that she was able to get more input from my husband more than usual. I mean, the wedding is not just about the bride.
Ultimately, I highly recommend Sherdellah for your design needs for your wedding. Especially if you’re as particular and whimsical and organized and detail-oriented as me.
