A friend referred me to Pattie in 2014 for alterations on my wedding dress. At my first appointment, I was torn between wearing my Mom’s wedding dress and the new gown I had recently purchased. I didn't know what alterations I needed yet, because I couldn't decide what to wear! Pattie was incredibly patient, taking time and care to examine both garments and discuss options.

I had been told that my Mom's wedding dress was beyond repair and couldn’t be altered to fit me. Pattie, however, showed us that repairing and altering my Mom's dress was possible. I soon returned to Seam and Pattie had worked magic on my Mom's dress--the sleeves actually fit my arms, and she had restored yellowed patches of fabric to their original white.

Pattie continued to work on my Mom's dress, and I had a few more fittings. A few weeks into the process, though, I decided that I couldn't choose between my Mom's dress and the new gown and told Pattie that I wanted to combine the two. At this point, most people definitely would have turned me away, but Pattie was incredibly patient and kind. I told her that my ideal dress would have the top of my Mom's dress and the skirt from the new gown, something that I thought would be impossible. But, Pattie again worked her magic. She created a gorgeous jacket that zipped up the back from the top of my Mom's dress, one that I could simply wear over the new strapless gown. I never knew exactly what I wanted my wedding gown to look like until I saw myself in Pattie's gorgeous creation--standing there at Seam, I knew I had found the look!

I can't recommend Seam highly enough. Pattie's knowledge of textiles and garments is impressive and rare and her skills and talent are phenomenal. She was kind and patient with me, an indecisive crazy bride, and created a gorgeous, timeless gown for my wedding day. It was the most beautiful and well-made garment I have ever worn.

Pattie at Seam makes stunning couture pieces like it is nobody else's business! Her talent and eye for fashion is runway status...on top of that her passion and quality of work is unbeatable!!!! Not to mention she's a blast too:-)

She is a seamstress, and a wonderful one at that. I found out about her through my aunt, who happens to work in the same building as she did and altered my cousin's dresses for her wedding last year. She is a bit on the expensive side, as she is a professional dress maker, fixer, alterer, whatever you can imagine with a dress. She is super cool and hip and knows what she's doing. Again, I'll reiterate, she isn't cheap, but she will get the job done and get it done right! She's done dresses for Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock, and the Black Keys.
