Laurie is kind, talented, and bakes the best cake!! She provided us the most beautiful and tastiest wedding cake where each tier was a different flavor. Everyone loved it! We had a chocolate top tier, coconut middle tier, and lemon bottom tier...each one was so moist and tasted amazing!

Laurie at Room for Cake is AMAZING! We hired her to create a completely custom cake for our wedding and I am so, so glad we did. Laurie was extremely communicative and fast at responding throughout the whole process, which was almost a year from the day I first reached out to our wedding day. We made several changes along the way, and Laurie rolled with the punches and always said 'yes' no matter how complicated or complex the request was. I sent her an inspiration photo from Pinterest and she made our dream cake come true. She even accommodated putting on two cake toppers and florals!

We received so many compliments on our cake and our guests were blown away with the quality of the taste but also the presentation and design. Laurie is a magician and I cannot thank her enough for agreeing to work with us on our cake. It turned out better than we could have ever imagined - the pictures speak for themselves!

Laurie did an incredible job bringing to life exactly what we pictured for our wedding day. We had a smaller cutting cake and 3 other large sheet cakes for the guests - it all worked out perfectly and the almond cake was an absolute stand out!

Our experience working with Laurie was amazing :) i did get some quotes from other vendors on here but it was really hard to communicate with them and I had particular needs- vegan and organic ingredients. We had our best man do the cake testing prior to the wedding and went with a coconut layer and a hazelnut toffee layer as well as vegan cupcakes in coconut and chocolate. We ate the top layer for breakfast the day after the wedding and it was delicious my whole family loved it:) They said how the coconut was perfect, not too dry. Laurie was also incredibly organized and meticulous with the details regarding set-up of the cake. You can tell she really cares about your wedding and your cake. I would highly recommend her!!!

Laurie was AMAZING to work with - very responsive, super sweet and willing to work with you on different options. My husband and I are not big on sweets and we loved her cake flavors and mini desserts! We did the top two tiers bourbon vanilla and bottom tier vanilla with raspberries and white chocolate filling. We also did a variety of shot glasses - all were DELICIOUS and our guests loved it all! Definitely recommend Room For Cake!

Laurie has built an extraordinary business. Her prices are competitive to the common bakeries you can work with for wedding cakes, but her boutique like service makes you feel like you are the most important client she has. AND THE QUALITY!!!! What she created was unlike anything I had ever tasted, and we gave her a challenge (I'm sure everyone thinks that). Our request was for a four tier cake fashioned after individual layers from four different inspirations. Here's where it get's fun; one layer needed to be vegan chocolate, one carrot with a cream cheese filling, another layer being a ridiculous lemon with raspberry sauce, and the final being a crazy chocolate mouse like cake with a raspberry filler. What's not obvious in that selection is the varying degrees of density, ANDfollowing our choice of which layer was which. You will find that the quality of the cakes you taste in your sampling will carryover to the big day. Now I'm not suggesting you don't taste what other bakers have to offer, as free'ish cake is always good! But, if you don't have time you can confidently contract with Laurie and be amazed how her contribution to your special day will be the so called icing on the cake! Oh, and an added bonus...we are coming up on our one year anniversary, for which Laurie's anniversary gift is making us a small sampling of what we experienced that incredible day instead of a one year old frozen piece!!!

We tried a couple of different cake places in Santa Barbara and the tastings were OK, but Laurie from Room for Cake blew us away by making tiny cakes in every flavor we wanted to try. We couldn't decide, so ended up picking a chocolate orange and very vanilla one. When she actually delivered them the day of the wedding, they actually took my breath away the first time I saw them. They were stunning—simple, elegant, and delicious. She was also very easy to work with. I could not recommend Room for Cake more.
