The Felt Factory by Romano’s Catering is an industrial and modish wedding venue located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A historic space tastefully refurbished, this 45,000-square-foot location is ideal for upscale and urban weddings. Their expert staff focuses on every detail, striving to help you see your nuptial dream materialize.
Facilities and Capacity
Inside the Felt Factory, there are three venue spaces for hosting showers, rehearsal dinners, and other wedding-related events. While renovated to meet contemporary standards, the various rooms still showcase the building’s original foundation. Brick walls, vaulted ceilings, and wrought-iron beams and railings pay homage to the factory’s roots. The Mill Room, that boasts a 35-foot bar, chandeliers, a waterfall, and an operational fireplace, can host up to 300 guests. In the Capri Room, a total of 100 individuals can be accommodated, making it ideal for more intimate gatherings. The most spacious ballroom is the Manor Hall, where you can enjoy drinks on the terrace. This refined space houses a private dressing room and can hold up to 375 people. Guests can avail of on-site parking for their convenience.
Services Offered
The Felt Factory by Romano’s Catering provides all-inclusive wedding packages for you and your partner. Their event coordinators are on-hand to help you with the logistics, take care of setup and cleanup, and keep proceedings organized and on track. They can provide items such as tables, chairs, linens, glassware, flatware, and china. Additional rentals are available like lighting and sound equipment. To make preparing for your special day easier, they also provide access to get-ready rooms.
Cuisine
Executive Chef Stephen Marquis from Romano’s Catering brings over two decades of professional experience to the kitchen. He previously worked for the Merion Caterers and The Warwick Hotel, both esteemed businesses. Chef Stephen is an expert in crafting dishes that utilize color and presentation while satisfying palates. His exceptionally prepared Italian and American dishes are featured on menus that can be customized depending on dietary restrictions. Couples have the choice of plated or buffet meals, and the kitchen can even prepare wedding desserts.
History
From 1848, The Felt Factory was home to the Frogmoore Mills. The adjacent Frankford Creek used to power the factory’s machinery. For years it was one of the few felt mills located in the United States and its fabric goods were shipped all across the country. From the 1920s, it was operated by the Philadelphia Felt Company, until Romano’s Catering gained ownership in the 1980s. Since then, it has been a premier destination for weddings and events in the Philadelphia area.
