Custom Wedding Bands

Goddard Goldsmith created the most gorgeous and unique magnolia petal wedding bands to stack for a perfect fit around my engagement ring! They were also so knowledgeable and helpful when my husband picked out his wedding band there. A great option for custom or high quality jewelry.

We met with Richard and his assistant (no appointment required) in early April with our band requests. I had an heirloom band that I needed to have expanded AND I wanted the shape changed. The groom had gold he had panned himself that he wanted to have turned into a band. They worked with me to meet my request, which involved more work than I thought (the ring didn't actually have much gold in it...). He was also very enthusiastic about my engagement ring and while admiring it, noted some weak points. When I picked up my engagement ring the next day, good as new and shinier than when I left it, his assistant also pulled out my band (project already half complete) to make sure I still liked the look.

The groom's band was a little more involved; they did a great job of explaining why they couldn't exactly meet his expectations, but the goldsmith and the groom worked out a new plan (we had the flakes beat into a wire and inlaid in a plain gold band), and it turned out beautifully!

They called us to tell us our bands were finished by the end of April. They also checked to see if our ceremony was local--they had polished the bands and were willing to touch them up before the ceremony. We're quite pleased with the end result; they were enthusiastic about both projects and were very willing to answer any questions we had about the process and plans. Price wise, they were pretty reasonable (the groom did wind up having to buy a gold band for his, which definitely was the bulk of our cost). I found their process of determining shape and style preferences to be very helpful-they actually had drawers of different rings to try on and compare.

Richard Goddard designed a unique wedding band for me, a delicately curved double band that serves as a ring guard for my engagement ring. It snaps gently into place to prevent the three bands from spinning in relation to each other and rubbing the setting of tiny diamonds on the side of the engagement ring, and the highly polished white gold of the bands reflects the central setting, adding to its brilliance and impact. Richard was great to work with, allowing me to help create the design through sketches, and sharing the wax model of the bands with me before having them cast, so together we could refine the design. The result is perfect; beautifully crafted and wearable, comfortable, sturdy but delicate looking, and just what I wanted. He also worked under time pressure to get it done, driving all day to get it rhodium plated and hand delivering it to us in time for us to leave a few days early to travel to our wedding venue. It was a great experience to work with Richard, and I'll bring more jewelry projects to him in the future!
