We picked the CLACKAMAS restaurant! Gustav's has always been our family favorite "go to"! We LOVED the private side room as it was the perfect private/intimate setting for us to honor our families for a dinner party after our wedding rehearsal. The menu was SUPER easy to draw from and we had plenty of food for all! Perfect place for our beer and German food loving family!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the team from Rheinlander Catering.

I have to start by saying that I hated the process of finding a caterer. We are not the couple that wanted the "traditional" wedding buffet. We met with no less than 5 caterers and were nearing the point of having to hire one of them. Ugh, we just couldn't stomach a minimum of $3k for a dinner for 80 people plus most don't allow you to have your own alcoholic beverages. It seemed wrong. We went to late night happy hour one day at Gustav's and were talking about how we couldn't' wait to be on our honeymoon in Germany when my then fiance said "Why don't we ask Rheinlander if they cater!" I loved that idea...we love German food, his family is German and he speaks German so it just seemed like a natural fit. Plus its not your typical chicken or fish buffet.

I emailed Rheinlander and got a quick response and low and behold....well below $3k! Amazing!
We were able to customize the menu to our taste, fiddle with the numbers, and hired 2 waiters and a bartender. Our two main goals for our wedding were to have amazing food and amazing wine. We were able to afford both because of Rheinlander!

The team that came to work our wedding was so professional, so on top of every little issue I want to personally thank Mechelle, Marie & Issac. They were so great to work with! Mechelle was my main contact and we emailed back and forth for several weeks making sure every detail was covered. I forgot to give them a printed out timeline for the day but it didn't seem to affect anything. Their team was on top of everything and went above and beyond to make everything seamless and beautiful. They bussed tables, they kept the punch and water containers full for the non alcoholic table, they kept guests in check with the amount they were drinking (very important when it's my liability), and even washed all the dishes and packaged up the leftovers!

I'm surprised that Rheinlander isn't already on WW but Portland brides you will be so happy with the food, the service and the professionalism!
We can't wait to celebrate our anniversary in a year at the Rheinlander and every anniversary to come!
