Andrew Ballantyne and Rachel Gaither have combined performance experience of over 30 years, performing for venues on their resumes as diverse as Carnegie Hall, international tours in Europe, as well as bars, festivals, funerals, and of course, countless weddings. Ballantyne's guitar experience in jazz bands and regular performances around Hampton Roads' favorite music spots pulls in a unique and wide repertoire of music, from Ray Charles to The Grateful Dead to jazz standard and top 40's contemporary favorites. Gaither's background in Celtic and bluegrass, as well as her classical performance degree brings in its own depth of sound on both violin and mandolin, and her studies in opera round out the duo's ability to bring in a sophisticated sound to any ceremony, and rock any reception! The duo also has the ability to expand to up to a 6-piece band with piano, bass and drums, as well, for the full-band reception party experience!
