I had such a wonderful experience with Beatrice at Queen Dressmakers. My wedding dress came in later than expected and I struggled to find a tailor with the space to alter it with just six months to go before the wedding. I was so grateful to find Beatrice! The dress had several layers and was not a quick job, and she did amazing work with it. She is also such a kind person, and I really enjoyed our conversations every time I came in. Her prices are very reasonable for the excellent work she does. I would highly recommend Queen Dressmakers to anyone looking for alterations!

I had a wonderful experience working with Beatrice. She was extremely warm and kind in all of our interactions and did beautiful, meticulous work to alter my sheath wedding gown. Beyond hemming and bustling the gown, she took in the lace bodice, added cups, took up the sleeves, and took in the skirt. In the end, it fit me like a (very comfortable) glove and looked impossibly elegant! Her prices are very fair– she charged several hundred dollars for all of this work, including 3 fittings. To put this in context, another seamstress had quoted me over $1000 for fewer alterations! Don’t hesitate to put your wedding dress in Beatrice’s extremely skilled hands.

I had a great experience here getting alterations for my wedding dress. I got my dress at BHLDN and needed some adjustments to the top half and to add a bustle. Everything turned out great- it fit perfectly and she made some small suggestions and changes that made the dress even better than I expected. What could have been a stressful situation instead was really easy and fun. Thank you!

Beatrice tailored my wedding dress and did a great job! She had been referred to me by another friend whose wedding dress she altered as well. For my dress she added a bustle, shortened the dress, took out the fabric under the lace train, took it in at the chest, and sewed in chest cups. I came back for two fittings before it was ready for me to take home and Beatrice was very flexible to my requests and pleasant to work with. She did a great job – I would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding dress alteration!

I first went to Queen with a bridesmaid dress in 2002 and now 15 years later I was so glad to still find Queen here. I would trust no one else with my mother's wedding dress that my grandmother made in 1968. Queen was sensitive and honest. She saw me in the dress and recommended a simple taking in and fixing of a zipper and how happy I am that I retained the original silhouette and hem. And Queen was so reasonably priced...worth the trip to Belmont!!! Thank you Queen!!

Queenie did a STELLAR job with my wedding dress, and she made me feel so great during the fitting process! She shortened and hand-reinforced the beaded straps, shortened the satin dress overall, and added the bustle. During the first fitting, she commented that the train was very heavy and offered a great suggestion for making it more comfortable -- which made a huge difference. At no point did she try to up-sell me on unnecessary alterations, she always explained what she was doing, and chatting with her always left me with a big smile on my face. On my wedding day, I felt awesome in my gown, which fit well and was easy to move in -- and I received so many compliments!

The proprietress of Queen Dressmakers is a wonderful seamstress. I brought in my dress which needed 4 inches off and was lace all around - without an appliqué! What was I thinking when I bought it! But she was able to make it work so well my grandma didn't know until she picked up the hem and inspected it close up.

I had to call to make an appointment at first because she wants to see the dress and see how it fits on you before giving an estimate - of both $ and time. She is efficient. Then she will have you come back at least one other time to do a second fitting to make sure everything is as you want. Each trip was well worth it. She also listens to what you want very well too, but also gives suggestions based on experience.

When I came to pick up my dress, she insisted I try it on once more. Good thing, because a snap she'd sewn in in the back to give extra coverage wasn't working as anticipated. So there and the, without a complaint, she switched it to a hook and eye closure in no time. It is clear she loves what she does, and really wants the best for you and your dress.

She is ebullient, and direct - both qualities that I value in someone who is making permanent alterations to a wedding dress I paid a heft chunk for. She is not super cheap, but not over priced either. You get a good price for honest, well done work.

Beatrice is so great - I would go to her with any and all alteration needs! She is completely upfront and honest, you know you can trust her - when she was evaluating my wedding dress she let me know if I was willing to get shoes that were a little taller, we wouldn't have to hem the dress and I could save $200+ (and the dress) while also being willing to go with whatever my decision was. I had her to take in the bust and waist of my dress and shorten the top. I never felt pressured by her and she was genuinely excited when she saw how perfect the final alterations came out for me. It was very efficient as well, I only had 3 total visits (initial evaluation, first fitting, final fitting). The only thing to note is that can get very busy, only communicates over phone, and only accepts cash.

Beatrice has tailored dresses of mine in the past and done great work so I naturally returned to her to have my wedding dress altered. She did a wonderful job, added straps and my dressed ended up fitting perfectly. Beatrice is so encouraging too.
Only negatives are she accepts cash only so come prepared and her little shop can get a bit hot when you're visiting on the hottest and most humid days of summer.

I just read a very disturbing post on how this business discriminated against a black woman. I have known this woman for years and she is one of the kindest most genuine people I know and the love she has found is so deserved. I’m furious and heartbroken for her to have to feel even an ounce or sadness during this season of her life. You should be ashamed of yourself.
