Jim was fantastic to work with. He made the day easy and knew exactly how to capture the best photos. We would highly recommend him to anyone! Fun guy and very professional.

Jim was the absolute best photographer we could have ever asked for. He did an amazing job. From the very beginning, he was super responsive and came to our 30 day meeting with the venue. He listened to everything we wanted and you could tell he cared a lot about getting the best photos possible. He was at the venue before I was, taking pictures of the rooms and decor. He was very detail-oriented and cared a lot about setting up each photo perfectly. When we couldn't go outside for pictures due to the rainy weather, he still took amazing indoor photos. He also sent us the link to our photos in less than a week after our wedding, and will be sending us a thumb drive as well. Overall, I would highly recommend Jim! I trusted him to take the best photos and he did! Also, he is one of the most reasonably-priced photographers you will find in the KC area, hands down!

We hired Jim Powers for my daughter’s May 2018 wedding in Kansas City. As the wedding planner, I did extensive research to find the “value” vendor in each category. In other words, I was looking for someone who did outstanding work and had great reviews but was very reasonably priced compared to the market. Jim was, by far, the best value in the photographer category. His work is excellent and his reviews are very strong, and yet his rates were significantly lower than almost every other photographer I researched. We liked that he captures the traditional posed wedding photos, artistic shots and the overall flow of the day. He was with us from about 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. on the day of the wedding. He took more than 1.000 shots that day. My daughter and son-in-law were not interested in purchasing an album from a photographer; instead, they wanted to receive all of the images digitally and make their own decisions about what to print, what to share online, etc. Jim provided a first “quick look” with a generous sampling of the wedding day shots within two days, and then a full online portfolio of shots a few weeks later (both easily shareable with family and friends online), along with a flash drive with all of the images. He had good insights on the best locations for shooting wedding party photos outside near the wedding venue, and he was just great to work with – a true professional. We would strongly recommend him to any other couple looking for high-quality wedding photography at an amazing price.

Where do I even start? Jim was an amazing photographer to work with! There was a small hiccup in the morning with the second shooter we had requested, but Jim made sure he offered us something to make it right! My bridesmaids and I were behind on getting the pictures started (not Jim's fault!), and he was so cool about it. He wasn't trying to rush us, or make us feel like we were taking too much time getting ready. He just encouraged us to enjoy ourselves and have fun chatting and dancing. A few times throughout the day, he said, "Everyone has to do what the bride does!" which made me feel awesome! During the formal pictures, he was so much fun to work with! He got plenty of sassy and funny pictures to go along with the standard ones. Throughout the whole day, he got all of the shots on our list that he could. He got so many great pictures of our guests as well, and he sent us the finished pictures very quickly! We couldn't be happier with them. I would recommend Jim to anyone and everyone!

Jim is very nice, energetic, and funny. I worked with him previously for my maternity shoot. He definitely knows what he is doing, weddings seem to be his atmosphere, and goes with the flow of the wedding so well sometimes you forget you have a photographer (when he's not directing you in posed shots) until he tells you that that is a perfect thing you're doing and to hold it! He is very reasonably priced for his skill level, whereas some photographers are charging twice his rate for less quality work. We have some very beautiful memories to look back on thanks to Jim.

Jim has been great to work with so far! Weather made our engagement session a challenge. We had to reschedule once and then froze on the next date. Jim was a trooper and didn't complain once! We love the shots he sent us and can't wait until our wedding in November.

Jim is AMAZING! From the first time we met him for our engagement shoot we knew we were glad we chose him. He takes amazing photographs and edits them beautifully! He gave us 2 DVDs with rights for our engagement photos about a month after the shoot. But a day after the shoot hevsent us 2 pucs via email so we couldvsee a few. I loved this, it satisfied my curiosity! For the wedding, he sent us a "must-take" list which we edited and sent back to him for the big day. He arrived early in the day with his second shooter Christy and took all the venue shots and us getting ready. For the formals, we were on the golf course during the afternoon and even though the sunlight/shadows caused a bit of a problem he worked wonderfully and captured some amazing photos. The next day he sent us 4 pics which were amazing. Can't wait to see the rest. Jim is a great choice if you are looking for a "shoot and burn" option for your wedding/engagement.
