Ovation Entertainment and Dj Mike did such an incredible job on our wedding! There were so many times my fiancé and I were feeling overwhelmed and stressed during wedding planning, but every time we had a meeting with Mike, we always felt energized, accomplished, and excited again. Mike is very responsive, professional, and organized. Mike helped us plan out the timing of our events and recommended the perfect songs for moments where we hadn’t yet figured out which songs to play. Mike even helped suggest non-music related things for us, like certain pictures we should have our photographer capture (we followed his recommendations and love those shots, btw.) Ovation’s online portal is easy to fill out and add songs to. When it came to the actual wedding, Ovation did a great job at engaging the crowd and getting people to get on the dance floor. We’d recommend them to anyone!

Michael is the ONLY choice for your wedding or event so if you are in need of DJ services look no further. Michael DJ’d our wedding in November 2024 and we couldn’t ave made a better choice. The entire process leading up to our wedding day he was very communicative. We had a total of 3-4 calls with Michael where he documented the flow of the entire day, the music that would be played and all of the specifics that were important to my husband and I. He was so thorough and it made us feel so at ease going into our wedding day. I think something that sets Michael apart is his ability to be so personable to a couple and their needs. Shortly after getting to know us, he was able to craft the perfect day and recommend music choices that were exactly what we were looking for that we probably never would have thought of! The day of he was on time, efficient & very professional. The music from the pre-ceremony drinks all the way through the end of the night was spot on. The dance floor was PACKED all night and we received so many compliments from friends and family on how fun the night was. Michael read the room so well and changed the music/vibe depending on how the crowd was feeling, there truly never was a dull moment on the dance floor. I am also so thankful for his sound set-up when it came to the ceremony. His set-up allowed us to have audio of our vows in the highest quality that our photographers then used for our videos that we will be able to look back and listen to for years to come. We cannot thank him and his team enough for how smoothly everything went and how seamless he made the night feel. We would absolutely recommend him over and over again!

Michael at Ovation Entertainment is absolutely exceptional! He goes above and beyond in every way. I could tell within the first few minutes of our initial consultation that this is someone who has been in the business for a long time, has seen it all, keeps current, and knows how to curate the vibe for an exceptional wedding night.

We had several meetings leading up to our wedding day where Michael provided value that goes beyond his job description - he provided invaluable advice for our timeline, the overall flow of the evening, and how to ensure that each musical moment evokes the feeling we wanted for ourselves and our guests. He is also an excellent communicator and worked seamlessly with our coordinator, deferring to her appropriately while providing great insight on the aspects of the evening under his purview. On the day of the wedding, he brought the best kind of energy, nailed every cue, and had everyone on the dance floor all night long (which is particularly impressive since I wouldn’t consider our group to be big dancers)!

It was truly a night to remember thanks to Michael. He’s well worth his very-reasonable fee and he’s truly earned my trust as a reliable vendor and a person with integrity. If you’re on the fence, just book him!! :D

Michael is INCREDIBLE!! I cannot emphasize enough how amazing he is at what he does. From starting with our ceremony to bringing the party throughout the night, he really set the tone and had everyone engaged and dancing throughout the night. He helped us with tons of recommendations for songs starting from the songs for walking down the aisle to the cake cutting song and the send off song. From our first meeting with him, he really helped us through the wedding planning process by creating a timeline for us with the various songs included that we would have throughout the night. He knew how to transition the songs perfectly like during our first dance and set the tone for the party with the bridal party entrance song. He knew how to hype everyone up and was an AMAZING mc!! Our venue unfortunately had an early curfew and a lot of restraints for noise, but despite that he was able to get everyone on the dance floor and keep the party going all the way until the end of the night! We got so many compliments from our guest for how smoothly our wedding flowed and we have Michael to thank for that. There were no awkward moments or moments where the guests were wondering what was going to happen next. He really kept everyone engaged the whole night long. We cannot thank Michael enough for helping make our wedding a dream come true!!!!

We worked with Michael and Ovation for our wedding in San Diego and utilized his services for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. As people who really care about sound and music, after searching for various wedding DJs and not really finding anyone who stood out, Michael came to us recommended by a friend and wedding planner who spoke highly of not only of his great MC skills, but also of his professionalism and organization, which at the time, we thought was an interesting comment to make about a DJ. Her comments soon proved to be absolutely accurate as Michael was efficient and organized from the moment we met him via email, with timely email responses, and prompt scheduling of Zoom meetings prior to our wedding. He also came prepared with his own wedding schedule/timeline on a Google doc which we were able to edit up until the week of the wedding as our ideas/songs/processional order changed. He reviewed several Spotify playlists we provided as inspiration for the ceremony and reception. We absolutely appreciated his professionalism throughout the process, as well as his expert feedback regarding our song choices. He is professional and adaptable, and clearly well-versed in all genres of music. I am confident that no matter what your music preferences are (oldies, country, pop, electronic, rock, a random mix of the above?!), as long as you convey your interests, Michael can throw any genre dance party, and he WILL throw you YOUR best dance party. He surprised the guests with small favors when dancing, and both the kids and grandparents loved his light up toys. Lighting was provided as part of his DJ service as well, which was executed perfectly. I've been to many weddings as a guest, and almost always have a few issues with sound or music, but our entire day ran so smoothly, from ceremony sound to song choices to dancing music transitions, that that only disappointing thing I have to report is that I was so busy as the bride that I did not get to hang out with Michael who felt like a friend after those Zoom meetings! Michael traveled to San Diego from LA for us, and we are so glad that we found him, and we would absolutely work with him again if we ever had the opportunity to throw another party.

My wife and I highly recommend Ovation Entertainment if you are considering them to be your DJ & MC for your wedding/next event. Since our first conversation with Michael, we felt very comfortable and reassured by his professionalism and experience. We had a large wedding and we were both nervous about how the day would go and whether we would be able to keep everyone entertained and happy. Michael was always happy to help and provided great advice to us. On the day of our wedding, he did an amazing job as a DJ to keep the party going and as an MC to keep everyone entertained throughout the night. Our guests had a lot of compliments for him and even told him directly that his set list was lit at the end of the night! If that isn’t proof enough of his skill, we don’t know what is!

I hired Michael to be the DJ for my wedding at the Richard Nixon Library. I had some unique ideas that I wanted to try and Michael was enthusiastic in helping me achieve my vision. We met several times before the wedding and went over all the details. He anticipated potential problems before they arose and on the day of the wedding, he had everything working perfectly. In addition to being a world-class pro that perfectly interacted with our guests and played spot-on music, he provided lighting that transformed the space into a magical place. I'm somewhat particular when it comes to lighting, and he blew my expectations away. Even during the dancing portion of the reception, he was constantly transforming the room with his lighting. Michael is more than a DJ- he's a wedding wizard. He really helped me bring what I had in my head to reality and I couldn't have done it without him. Michael is a life saver. You fill out a list of songs on his site so he learns your taste and then he tailors the night around you. And if you give him enough leeway to add great songs from other genres and eras, he will modify the playlist on the spot to keep the audience engaged, dancing, and energized the whole night through. But he’s more than just music, lights, and fun party items to keep the guests moving, he’s basically your Emcee, DJ, and coordinator rolled into one. He even helped us find our missing Wedding Cake when the Kitchen Staff couldn’t find it. Worth the money. ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER.

We hired Michael as our wedding DJ and we were unbelievably happy with his product. Michael is an absolute professional. You can just tell straight off the bat that he has done this for his entire life, and this is his true calling.

From beginning to end, he was on-top of every single thing in the planning process to the actual execution. The reason we went with Michael was because we had recently attended my friend's wedding where Michael was the DJ and it was an absolute blast. We wanted to bring that same energy and level of excitement to our wedding that had a heavy emphasis on dancing and music.

Where to even start. Michael is amazing!! No need to keep DJ shopping, stop here. Our dance floor was a non stop party and so fun!! Michael had done my twin sisters wedding and when I got engaged he was the first vendor I reached out to and I planned our wedding date around his availability. Some say silly, I say genius. We wanted a fun, non stop party and he will definitely get you on the dance floor. Not only does he manage to pull of the most epic party he basically serves as a second coordinator. He puts together a complete timeline and script of the entire day! His expertise and ideas along the entire process are unmatched and really helped make for the perfect day. We had multiple meetings to make sure every detail was covered. All of our music from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception was perfect! He really takes the time to get to know you as a couple and your bridal parties and families to add great personal touches to your day.
