Ovation Entertainment and Dj Mike did such an incredible job on our wedding! There were so many times my fiancé and I were feeling overwhelmed and stressed during wedding planning, but every time we had a meeting with Mike, we always felt energized, accomplished, and excited again. Mike is very responsive, professional, and organized. Mike helped us plan out the timing of our events and recommended the perfect songs for moments where we hadn’t yet figured out which songs to play. Mike even helped suggest non-music related things for us, like certain pictures we should have our photographer capture (we followed his recommendations and love those shots, btw.) Ovation’s online portal is easy to fill out and add songs to. When it came to the actual wedding, Ovation did a great job at engaging the crowd and getting people to get on the dance floor. We’d recommend them to anyone! -

Michael at Ovation Entertainment is absolutely exceptional! He goes above and beyond in every way. I could tell within the first few minutes of our initial consultation that this is someone who has been in the business for a long time, has seen it all, keeps current, and knows how to curate the vibe for an exceptional wedding night.
We had several meetings leading up to our wedding day where Michael provided value that goes beyond his job description - he provided invaluable advice for our timeline, the overall flow of the evening, and how to ensure that each musical moment evokes the feeling we wanted for ourselves and our guests. He is also an excellent communicator and worked seamlessly with our coordinator, deferring to her appropriately while providing great insight on the aspects of the evening under his purview. On the day of the wedding, he brought the best kind of energy, nailed every cue, and had everyone on the dance floor all night long (which is particularly impressive since I wouldn’t consider our group to be big dancers)!
It was truly a night to remember thanks to Michael. He’s well worth his very-reasonable fee and he’s truly earned my trust as a reliable vendor and a person with integrity. If you’re on the fence, just book him!! :D -

Michael is INCREDIBLE!! I cannot emphasize enough how amazing he is at what he does. From starting with our ceremony to bringing the party throughout the night, he really set the tone and had everyone engaged and dancing throughout the night. He helped us with tons of recommendations for songs starting from the songs for walking down the aisle to the cake cutting song and the send off song. From our first meeting with him, he really helped us through the wedding planning process by creating a timeline for us with the various songs included that we would have throughout the night. He knew how to transition the songs perfectly like during our first dance and set the tone for the party with the bridal party entrance song. He knew how to hype everyone up and was an AMAZING mc!! Our venue unfortunately had an early curfew and a lot of restraints for noise, but despite that he was able to get everyone on the dance floor and keep the party going all the way until the end of the night! We got so many compliments from our guest for how smoothly our wedding flowed and we have Michael to thank for that. There were no awkward moments or moments where the guests were wondering what was going to happen next. He really kept everyone engaged the whole night long. We cannot thank Michael enough for helping make our wedding a dream come true!!!! -

I hired Michael to be the DJ for my wedding at the Richard Nixon Library. I had some unique ideas that I wanted to try and Michael was enthusiastic in helping me achieve my vision. We met several times before the wedding and went over all the details. He anticipated potential problems before they arose and on the day of the wedding, he had everything working perfectly. In addition to being a world-class pro that perfectly interacted with our guests and played spot-on music, he provided lighting that transformed the space into a magical place. I'm somewhat particular when it comes to lighting, and he blew my expectations away. Even during the dancing portion of the reception, he was constantly transforming the room with his lighting. Michael is more than a DJ- he's a wedding wizard. He really helped me bring what I had in my head to reality and I couldn't have done it without him. I enthusiastically and whole-heartedly recommend you hire Michael for your event. Thanks for all your help Michael!! -

Michael is a life saver. You fill out a list of songs on his site so he learns your taste and then he tailors the night around you. And if you give him enough leeway to add great songs from other genres and eras, he will modify the playlist on the spot to keep the audience engaged, dancing, and energized the whole night through. But he’s more than just music, lights, and fun party items to keep the guests moving, he’s basically your Emcee, DJ, and coordinator rolled into one. He even helped us find our missing Wedding Cake when the Kitchen Staff couldn’t find it. Worth the money. ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER. -

Where to even start. Michael is amazing!! No need to keep DJ shopping, stop here. Our dance floor was a non stop party and so fun!! Michael had done my twin sisters wedding and when I got engaged he was the first vendor I reached out to and I planned our wedding date around his availability. Some say silly, I say genius. We wanted a fun, non stop party and he will definitely get you on the dance floor. Not only does he manage to pull of the most epic party he basically serves as a second coordinator. He puts together a complete timeline and script of the entire day! His expertise and ideas along the entire process are unmatched and really helped make for the perfect day. We had multiple meetings to make sure every detail was covered. All of our music from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the reception was perfect! He really takes the time to get to know you as a couple and your bridal parties and families to add great personal touches to your day. Our friends are still raving about how much fun they had and how great he was!! Thank you Michael!! You’re amazing :) -

Working with Michael at Ovation Entertainment was such a pleasure. He was very professional, extremely organized, and did a great job trying to understand our music interests and style and to reflect that on our wedding day. He was an absolute hit with our wedding guests - bringing everyone onto the dance floor and getting everyone excited with his amazing props. Where do I begin? Michael was the highlight of my wedding planning. He is more than a DJ, he also becomes an extension of a wedding coordinator. Plus, he was in constant communication with all our vendors.
One of the difficult parts of wedding planning is the "what ifs" for the day of and if things don't go according to plan. But with Michael, I felt like knowing he had everything organized and so put together really helped the stress of wedding planning. I was able to trust that he would make sure things are flowing and going smoothly on the day of! Even leading up to the day, he was so helpful, had as many meetings as we needed and answered all of our emails and questions so quickly.
He is also great for any advice you might need, with how much experience he has. It's a bit overwhelming going into planning things, but he was so great with giving options and advice.
The day went even better than I expected. I received sooo many compliments on the reception - from his music to the way everything flowed, to the fun props he brings!
I would recommend Ovation Entertainment to anyone getting married! You will not be disappointed. -

Michael is truly talented in what he does. He hands down the best DJ and MC I have ever seen. He was the DJ/MC for our wedding in May at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine and he made our wedding night perfect. My husband and I couldn't have been happier. Michael loves what he does and it shows in his work. He met with us three times prior to our wedding to plan our music and the flow of the night. Not only did he organize the music, but he created the whole timeline for the day. He broke up the dances and speeches, which really livened up the night for our guests. We didn't have to worry about anything with Michael on our team. He a;so provided amazing up-lighting and glow in the dark glasses and rings for our guests. So many of our guests came up to us and told us how much they loved the glow in the dark items! I highly recommend hiring him as your DJ/MC! -

Michael is one of my favorite people on the planet! He's also a fantastic DJ! I can't say enough about how incredible he is at what he does. I had the privilege of working with Michael when I was a wedding coordinator and he was always by far my favorite vendor to work with. He was always super responsive, professional and truly just a pleasant and kind person to work with. I also always received such positive feedback about him from my clients. I recently got married and when it came time to select a DJ he was the first one I thought of. Let me tell you - he did not disappoint. He blew my husband and my expectations out of the water. From the point of view of a bride working with Michael, he was a huge contributing factor to how perfect our day was. Not only was he organized and detailed, he also made the reception such a blast! I lost count of how many of our wedding guests complimented on how great and fun he was. One of my aunts even said "Your DJ was amazing; I never dance and he got me on the dance floor!" So in sum, choose Michael as your wedding DJ! You will not regret it :) -

He worked with us diligently in the months before our wedding to ensure that our evening was everything my husband and I wanted. He was so flexible in meeting us in various locations as we were moving and had so many amazing creative ideas that made the night truly fabulous. He is amazing at what he does and knows how to read the crowd. All of my guests danced the entire night and kept telling me how much fun they had in the weeks to follow. Our wedding was also the first wedding that my husband and I had ever attended, so we had a lot of questions about the flow of the reception, and Michael helped us plan and answered all of our questions to make our planning stress free. I highly recommend him! His lighting was also amazing! It transformed the room and made it even more romantic. The colors changed as different events were happening and it was beautiful. Thank you Michael for helping us have the best night of our lives!

He was early to every meeting, worked around our schedules, and ultimately brought the party!! He helped us with custome songs and playlists and added so many incredible things to keep the party going all night long! He also worked with singer for perfect timing and pitch. We cannot rave about him enough! Thank you!!!

Not only did he do a fabulous job, but my family and I now consider him as a great friend!! We were so happy with the work he did and my guests were so impressed. My wedding was a great success and so much of this is attributed to him. I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone. Additionally, he is incredibly affordable. If you live in California, you would be crazy to not hire him as your DJ/MC. I am so grateful we hired him!! -

Michael went way beyond what was expected of him. He had all kinds of props and even got all the non-dancers out onto the dance floor. Johnnya Sent on 04/26/2011I don’t even know where to begin. This is going to be long so if you’re not the patient type and don’t feel like reading…in a nutshell Ovation Entertainment is great and definitely the way to go!
Now for the long story! Michael was beyond AMAZING and I thank God we found him. Out of all of my vendors picking a DJ was the most stressful for me. I’d set up appointments with a few and most of them were flakes or were overcharging for what they offered. Literally less than 2 months away from my wedding we didn’t have anyone booked. I looked at the list of DJ’s that were recommended by our venue and I thought I would check out Ovation’s website. I filled out an interest form and was promptly e-mailed by Michael. He wanted to set up a meeting with my fiancé and I to go over what we wanted and to tell us a little more about his offerings. My now husband and I have very demanding schedules and 2 kids and were just a few weeks away from wedding day so we needed to do it but flexibility was going to be key. Michael agreed to meet us on a SUNDAY less than 2 miles away from our home! Woo Hoo!!
He was very straight forward from the beginning. He offered a flat rate for service…no tricks…no gimmicks…no nothing. Just straight out pay this and you get this! Love that. He also has a huge library of music and thorough knowledge of each genre. It’s one thing to be able to stock an iTunes library and touch play but it’s quite another to be able to analyze beats per minute…gage flow of songs and read an audience. If you have something special you’d like he can easily get it for you if he doesn’t already have it.
Michael is much more than a DJ…he is a fantastic MC and overall event planner. He gave us some really great suggestions on how to make our evening flow better. He was extremely detailed…and he honestly cared more about my reception than I did! He took time to really get to know us and get to know the type of guests we would have at the event. He has a great deal of experience and it shows. He set a few additional planning meetings with us and sent us a complete detailed itinerary. We also loved using the online planning form and playlist he offers. He was always punctual to our meetings and stayed in constant communication with us over this super stressful time.
Our reception turned out like a dream. He kept everything moving on schedule…was very attentive to our needs and the needs of our guests. Communicated with our vendors/performers to help make sure everything was perfect. All night everyone was asking where did we get the DJ?! He even helped us plan a special comical performance that everyone loved. The evening was better than we could have ever imagined. We had a wonderful mellow cocktail hour…fun introductions…emotional speeches/ performances and music…relaxing dinner…then we partied down the rest of the night!! It was AWESOME!!
Most of all beyond being an amazing professional Michael is just a genuinely really nice and very cool guy. I just wanted to give him a big hug every time we met! He was also very patient with my daughter (who is only 3 and can be a handful but I had to bring her to all the meetings). It was such a pleasure to work with him and we will definitely be hiring him again for special events. If you want a perfect reception/party or any event…with a DJ who cares…the Ovation should be your choice for sure!

Christina Sent on 06/24/2009WOW! What an amazing DJ! We liked him right from the start and we were never disappointed. He is the nicest person you could ever hope to work with. He responds immediately to emails and phone calls and always answers questions with a smile. If you need a DJ, look no further than him. I am still in awe of the level of service we got from him.
I can't say enough good things about him! Book him!
