History

First established by the grandfather of famed photographer, Ansel Adams’ in 1910, this venue originally functioned as an alcohol production site. The Classen Company began making alcohol from sawdust until it ceased operations in 1913 and remained unoccupied for the following 65 years. After its initial restoration in 1978, the main structure was restored to honor its past legacy while also creating a new, innovative, and scenic place to encourage a flourishing community.
