If you are planning a wedding in Key West - you NEED to go to Ocean Key! From the food, the venue, to the incredible sunset & ambiance, our friends and family are still talking about our wedding. We got married on 12/1/23, Chrystalyn and her team worked with our wedding planner Vicky Furman to make our wedding the best day of our lives. There is no words we can say to express the gratitude and love we have for Ocean Key and all of our vendors! It was hands down the best experience we could have ever had. From the beginning of planning, all the way to wedding day - You will not be disappointed!!! If I had to do it all over again, I would pick this Ocean Key alll over again!

Mother of the bride here! Having a second daughter get married in Key West, of course everthing had to be different-except the welcome dinner at Ocean Key.
Having worked with Kristin before and just having the best experience ever, I did not want to take any chances on choosing a different location and team to work with.
I was so delighted to reach out to her again and pick up where we left off. She is amazing and professional, friendly and kind, gets back to you in a flash, helps with any question or request, big or small. It was like talking to an old friend.
She now had some helpers that I interacted with as well-Olena and Chrystalyn. Just as amazing and attention to detail as Kristin. Every company should be so fortunate to have these fabulous ladies representing them.
Although, this is same as our families last Key West welcome dinner, this team went out of their way to help make it totally different and unique.
The amount of information they provided prior to the event was remarkable. Detailed maps of how it was going to be laid out, descriptions and counts of literally everything. They had it down! Everytime I made a small change-they made that change immediately as well. When I was decisioned out-they were kind enough to help guide me in choices that turned out so well that I would never have thought of.
They make you feel like you are the only family they are working with and nothing is higher on their list.
Of course the night of the welcome dinner the presentation was flawless, the pier was an amazing place to watch the sunset, have some fun signature cocktails and delicious appetizers (if I could somehow get that Ceviche recipe-that would be great-I've had peope ask if that could be done). The meal was delicious and impressive too. Then the lights came on and you could just feel the happiness for the couple, and happy that we could give all our guests such an great experience as well. Such a fun, exclusive location to have an event. I can't think of anything better.

It was perfect! Kristin, our OKR contact was incredible to work with and was great at communicating with us, especially for a destination wedding. The location of the dock is perfect, right on the ocean during sunset plus it's next to all of the action on Duval! The venue also lets you party until 11pm whereas some of the other locations have ending times at 10pm. We decided to hold all of our events on the dock for just over 100 people and we loved the set up. They worked with all of our vendors and even provided suggestions when we needed them. 10/10 would recommend!

5/5 for so many reasons!!! Our wedding was on 9/12/2020 and not only did we have Covid restrictions and policies, Tropical Storm Sally made an appearance during our stay and wedding day. This resort and staff was beyond amazing! I would relive this experience over and over again, weather and all! From start to finish our day was perfect. The front desk staff was amazing and friendly and helped with ANYTHING we needed. CARA is a SAINT and I cannot stress this enough. She was a text or call away at all times during our stay and event. They all worked in the pouring rain for us to have the wedding we imagined and they really made our wedding perfect. It will always be remembered and we will be back to this resort every year. If you’re considering it, just do it!!! You will not regret it. 💕💕💕

I will start this review off with the cliché ‘I have never written a review before.’ When the truth is, I have never written a review in my life. I am not the kind of person who complains or sings the praises of people behind the keys of a computer. However, a few people truly went above and beyond for our recent wedding in Key West Florida, that it would be a crime not to let other potential clients know about them!



My now husband, Kris hails come America and I am from Australia. While we call Australia home, we decided upon a destination wedding in Key West Florida. A decent percentage of our friends and family would be meeting for the first time, making it all the more special. We envisaged a weekend filled with fun, laughter and memories to last a lifetime.



Kris and I had spent a few glorious nights in Key West numerous years ago. We feel in love with Key West, from the sunsets to the roosters, the live music and the delicious food. When we decided on a destination wedding, Key West was an easy choice.



We knew choosing the venue would be one, if not, the biggest decision to make. Being your typical bride, did a lot of research online, I read countless reviews, reached out to people and mulled (sometimes painstakingly) over decisions. We settled up Ocean Key Resort and Spa. We dreamt of long farm tables, cold cocktails and dancing the night away under the stars of the Sunset Pier.



Through choosing Ocean Key Resort and Spa, we were introduced to Cara. Cara was professional, kind and went above and beyond to make our wedding day the perfect day that is was. Cara promptly answered my numerous (hundreds upon hundreds) of emails with kindness and honestly. We were able to add elements and take away others to suit our wedding day, for example, guests where greeted with champagne on arrival at the ceremony and we had an uncovered dance floor under the stars. Kris and I were not able to be present for pre-wedding activities, for example menu tastings, which Cara happily organized for our family based in America to attend. She managed to make everything feel very special and personalized, even though we were located on the other side of the world.



In addition to helping us with all things Ocean Key and wedding day, Cara helped us to organise other elements of the wedding weekend as well. She assisted in choosing a rehearsal dinner venue and a boat charter company, all of which was not required of her.



Planning a destination wedding from the other side of the world and not being able to visit the venue once prior to the wedding screams stress. However, Cara made the planning process very easy and instilled a sense of confidence and calmness surrounding the planning process.



Closer to our wedding, we met Nicole. Both Cara and Nicole worked together on bringing all out planning together and were present for our rehearsal and on the day. Both Nicole and Cara were superstars in our planning journey and on the day. We cannot thank them enough for all the effort, professionalism, and patience they gave us. If you are looking for fun, truly unforgettable destination wedding, look no further than Ocean Key. I cannot recommend this venue and Cara enough.

We had our wedding at Ocean Key Report on March 7, 2020. First off, this venue and location sell itself. Initially, we had our hearts set on getting married on the beach. With the limited options and restrictions of KW beach weddings, we settled on searching for a waterfront location. I’m SO glad we did. Being able to have our ceremony on the water’s edge and reception on a private pier with water surrounding us during sunset was simply impeccable and perfection. A day or two before the wedding, we all gathered at the pool for the day. It was a blast and again an insane scene with a cute pool bar, cabanas, and right on the water’s edge.

Cara Johnson, Director of Sales & Catering, knocked it out of the park. We worked with her since June 2019. She was consistently responsive in a timely manner with answering all my questions, which I had many!! With various requests, the answer was always yes. She was flexible where she could be. With worked quickly with all my vendors to get approved to work on site as well. We also received a gift sent to our room on our wedding night which was very thoughtful and a wonderful surprise.

Our wedding couldn’t have gone better if someone tried to make it better. The entire Ocean Key staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. Big props to Grace, our bartender. Some of my guests mentioned to me that their drink was waiting for them on the bar when they needed a refill! They loved that personal touch. Food TOP notch (and we are foodies!). Everyone, and I mean everyone, raved about the food so if that’s important to you – do not worry about Ocean Key’s Hot Tin Restaurant’s abilities. One thing is that the hotel accommodations are pricey and there only a small discount for wedding guests. We offered it to our guests but didn’t push staying there due to cost. We recommended the various Hotels, BNBs, Airbnb, etc. within walking distance and most guests opted for that with no complaints.

All in all, I never had to worry about our wedding during planning or day off thanks to Cara and her team. And that is so important! I left KW after our wedding weekend thinking, what is too soon to renew our vows so we can do this all over again 😊 Thank you Cara and team for making everything a dream!

Cara and her team were so helpful and easy to work with while planning a destination wedding! The venue was perfect and the food was amazing! Dancing on the pier was the best time! Would 100% recommend ocean key for your wedding and can’t wait to go back and visit for our one year anniversary!

Met with Cara for a tour and to see the venue. It was absolutely stunning! She was organized, knowledgeable, and flexible. Thinking this is going to be our wedding location. Food options are great! Rooms are all suites so may need to give guest a second option close by with a lower rate but willing to work around that!

We cannot say enough great things about OKR! From the very beginning of the planning process, all the way through the end of our honeymoon they went above and beyond! We worked with Cara and Nicole who were both very quick to respond during planning and made the whole event seamless. We stayed at the resort for a week after our wedding for our honeymoon as well and were treated like royalty by all of the staff. We had a spa day two days after the wedding which was wonderful! Highly recommend the spa. Hot Tin Roof did all of the catering for the wedding and we had so many guests tell us it was some of the best food they had ever had! The setting is extremely hard to beat and the weather was absolutely perfect for our April 13th wedding. I was totally relaxed on the day of because it all went off without a hitch. We also worked with Nate, the concierge, who set us up with some fun dinners and activities during out stay. He was wonderful so definitely use him if you plan on spending any additional time in Key West! Again, I could go on and on about Ocean Key. You will not be disappointed with this venue. We had quite a number of guests say it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We will definitely be back for our anniversary trips and can't wait to see everyone on the staff again!

Cara and Nicole truly made everything special. The attentiveness they gave was truly amazing. We have stayed at this resort and immediately knew we wanted to get married here and were not disappointed. The Venue was amazing, the food exceptional and everyone raved how uniquee it was having it on the pier!
