If you are looking for a wedding caterer, look no further than Nilsa!! We had an absolutely phenomenal experience with her as our caterer for our wedding at Hacienda Siesta Alegre. Nilsa was flexible, responsive, and the food was incredible. She was so attentive to our little requests and making accommodations for dietary restrictions/preferences for guests. My family is Cuban, and adored the authentic and delicious Puerto Rican cuisine - especially the lechón! Not only is Nilsa an incredible chef, but such a warm genuine person. From inviting us into her home for the tasting, to dealing with our last minute anxieties, she makes you feel like family. My wife and I opted for a buffet dinner and were focused on making sure the displays were done elegantly and tastefully, and could not have been more pleased with the product. Our guests are still talking about the food. You cannot find a better value or better food on the island, I’m sure of it!

I could write pages of how amazing Nilsa’s catering is because they are that good, but here are the highlights.
I live in Washington State and I never had a single worry related to catering. They were incredibly responsive even with 3/4 hour time difference . They were always so kind and attentive to our needs via email which can be hard to translate. I accidentally deleted emails and they replied within hours with a copy of what I accidentally deleted and with the kindest message too (don’t worry we got you). Know let’s talk about the food. It was more than good, it was phenomenal. All our guests raved of how good it was and how they always had access to food. The churrasco with chimichurri was my favorite. It was so tender and flavorful. It was so good my husband and I ate leftover at 12:30 am without even reheating it. You also must know, they give you a goodie bag with leftovers! I didn’t even know this was possible! Lastly, because if not I will continue raving about them, they are the sweetest people you’ll ever meet and they make you feel like family; as in they are sharing a meal with you a family member.

I don’t think I would be able to eat from another caterer again without finding flaws.

Even our family from Puerto Rico said it was some of the best food they’ve ever had, which says a lot.

She went above and beyond in every way, even checking in on us during the wedding to make sure we had eaten and packed food for us to enjoy later. She is such a kind, genuine person, and it really comes through in the entire experience.

We hired Nilsa after reviewing several companies and we are so happy we did. Silvette was always quick to respond to any question and were so professional. The food was amazing (it’s been almost two months and people are still talking about it) and they were able to cater it to our dreams and accommodate those with different diets. Everything was so flavorful and we loved being able to showcase the cuisine and culture to guests who have traveled from afar. We also loved the personal touch where Nilsa came to greet us. We would hands down recommend them to anyone.

I can’t even begin to explain how incredible nilsa was. at first we had sticker shock but I am telling you, they are worth every penny. I told my husband I wanted authentic PR food (my husband is american and I am half puerto rican) and nilsa did not disappoint. we had a destination wedding and nilsa catered to our tight schedule with the food tasting. we walked away from the food tasting absolutely ecstatic about our decision. when it came to our wedding day, THE BEST SERVICE EVER. I didn’t have to lift a finger!!! I saw nilsa and screamed in joy because I was so happy. all of our guests couldn’t stop telling us how amazing the food was and one even said that it was the best food she’s had on the island all week, and she is from the island.

Our experience with Nilsa’s Catering was absolutely incredible—we hired her for both our wedding rehearsal dinner and our wedding, and she exceeded every expectation. Planning a destination wedding from California can feel very tricky, but Nilsa and her team are total pros and make everything easy for you, even from afar.

For the rehearsal dinner, they roasted a whole pig that was unbelievably delicious, paired perfectly with arroz con gandules and the setup was so fun. It was such a memorable, authentic meal and set the tone for the entire weekend.

Then for the wedding dinner at Hacienda Siesta Alegre, my family is Cuban, and she prepared a Cuban meal of ropa vieja, platanos, tostones, everything was phenomenal from top to bottom. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and served seamlessly. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food!

I also want to highlight how thoughtful and accommodating Nilsa and her team were when it came to dietary needs. I, along with several guests, am gluten-free, and she—along with Silvette and the entire crew—were incredibly careful with preparation and cross-contamination. That level of attention made us feel safe, included, and truly cared for.

Beyond the incredible meals, Nilsa and her team were professional, warm, and so easy to work with. They made everything feel effortless and truly helped make our wedding weekend special.

We began our experience with Nilsa in January 2025 with a private tasting at Nilsa's home. We were only in Puerto Rico for a few days of whirlwind tastings and venue visits planning our wedding. Thankfully, we found Nilsa and scheduled a tasting. We were blown away with the quality of the food but also the warmth Nilsa received us with, welcoming us to her home and providing us with an unforgettable tasting experience. It was so good we were honestly not sure how she'd be able to replicate it for over 100 guests on the day of. Fast forward to our wedding day of March 14, 2026 cocktail hour and our first bite of Nilsa's food 14 months after that first tasting, and somehow, the food was even better. The puerto rican appetizer sampler was a hit with all of our guests - we've heard it was the best wedding food from multiple guests. The delicious alcapurrias, the tasteful bacalaitos, the incredible sorullos. It was truly incredible. Nilsa also works with a roast pork vendor who served an incredible pork roast during cocktail hour. After cocktail hour, the served plated dinner was just as unforgettable. Nilsa is extremely talented, professional, and kind. We are thrilled we chose Nilsa and enjoyed not only the most amazing wedding day, but truly the most amazing wedding meal. We highly recommend Nilsa and her exceptional team! You cannot miss this exceptional meal on your wedding day and the value for the services is unbeatable.
