I was lucky enough to know how wonderful of an officiant Nilou is, years before my own wedding. She was my sister’s officiant 6 years ago, and I knew that day that when my time came to tie the knot, I wanted her there. I speak for myself and my husband when I say that Nilou completely captivates you with her poetic words and her genuine warmth.. and I speak for our guests as well when I say that. Our wedding was Iranian/American, and Nilou was able to speak to the hearts of both Farsi and English speakers.

From the moment we reached out to her about being our officiant, we received nothing but warmth and a genuine interest in us and the things that are the most important to us. Just in our first zoom call, she so easily absorbed the things that matter the most to us, and the things that make us who we are both as individuals and a unit. And on the wedding day she brought it all to life with her beautiful and powerful way of speaking, and shared those precious things with everyone that we love.

Nilou’s attention to detail is another thing that blew me and my husband away. From coordinating the rehearsal to asking what color of dresses my bridesmaids were wearing and the colors of the wedding so she can coordinate her outfit (which I’ve learned are always immaculate).

I could go on, but I’ll leave it with this. My husband and I could never have imagined a better officiant for what turned out to be the greatest day of our lives, and Nilou was such an important part of that.

We hired Nilou as our officiant for our Persian-American wedding after seeing her incredibly graceful ceremony officiating prowess at another family wedding and are so happy we did! She spent an incredible amount of time getting to know us as a couple and incorporating our love story into the ceremony. Nilou met with us virtually three times before our wedding in Mexico. She guided us the whole way on various ceremony elements and how the ceremony would take place. My wife and I come from Hindu and Pakistani backgrounds, and our vision was to have a neutral wedding ceremony with minimal religious rituals. We searched high and low for an officiant in the Bay Area who could perform an interfaith ceremony, and couldn’t have found a more perfect fit than Nilou.

Right from the consultation, we felt a strong connection with her because she wanted to get to know us and our love story first, which was a more personal touch than the priests we talked to. Being very familiar with both our cultures, she was able to provide recommendations on the overall flow of the ceremony and custom tailor all the nuanced details to what we felt was right. Not only that, but on the day of the event she spoke so beautifully in her calming and poetic voice, and even wore a traditional desi style outfit that made our neutral ceremony still feel cultural.

After the event, several close family members told us that they were truly moved by the ceremony and that our officiant in particular did a fantastic job. Working with Nilou was a dream! I always knew I wanted to work with her on my special day (whenever that day came) and I'm so happy she was available and willing. We had a dual culture wedding with 2 separate ceremonies: one Hindu and one Persian. Nilou officiated our Persian wedding in a non-denominational format but still included the cultural Persian traditions. She took the time to get to know both of us, the story of our relationship and even spoke with our friends to get an outside perspective. With her research and preparation, the ceremony became extremely personal and meaningful. We opted to recite our own vows which Nilou read ahead of time and gave us notes regarding length and tone. Ironically enough, she didn't have us change anything about them and my husband and I ended up having VERY similar vows to one another which created a great moment during our ceremony. Her dedication, passion, and professionalism is evident through her clear communication and commitment to each & every couple. We received many compliments from our guests regarding our officiant. They mentioned her calming demeanor, her expert delivery and of course, her amazing style! Ceremonies are often not the element guests remember most about weddings, but with Nilou, we had a truly memorable ceremony. I couldn't recommend Nilou enough for a wedding of any culture!

Choosing Nilou as our officiant was one of the no-brainer decisions we made for our Persian wedding. Having followed her on instagram for a year prior to reaching out to her, I loved her style, her professionalism, her class, and her hats! So when she told us she was available for our date we were absolutely thrilled. She flew down to San Diego for our wedding weekend so we covered her flights and hotel stay (well worth it). She is an excellent communicator, I always heard back from her in a timely manner. Our ceremony was the perfect amount of time (about 25 mins) and was so beautiful, clear, professional, and unique. Our guests RAVED about her. Our guests absolutely LOVED our ceremony, Persian and non-Persian. In fact, by the end of the weekend people were asking for her information from us to let other engaged couples know about her. She used the perfect mix of English and farsi, explained all the details of the ceremony, and did it with such grace. She was also very flexible with us and how we wanted our ceremony to flow. She gave us excellent guidance, but also appreciated our vision. Choosing her really made all the difference. I would 100% recommend her to other couples.

It is not easy to find a wedding officiant that can customize your script and stay open to your ideas. I wanted a script that is both romantic and a little religious, in multiple languages like Arabic, Farsi and English. I was extremely happy with the results! We had a pleasure of working with Nilou Weddings this summer and it was a great experience. Everything, from her attention to detail, beautiful scripts and her attitude were beyond amazing. What an honor it was to have Nilou as our officiant for our special day. It was the best decision I made to have her officiate our marriage. She was so easy to work with and was always available to answer my emails and messages. The entire ceremony process was seamless. Nilou was such a huge support for us during the entire postponement of our wedding from 2020 to 2021 and change of venues that were in two different states. I'm so glad I had her design our Sofreh because she literally designed a Sofreh out of a fairytale storybook. It was a dream come true!
