Couldn’t have had a more perfect Wedding Officiant

I was lucky enough to know how wonderful of an officiant Nilou is, years before my own wedding. She was my sister’s officiant 6 years ago, and I knew that day that when my time came to tie the knot, I wanted her there. I speak for myself and my husband when I say that Nilou completely captivates you with her poetic words and her genuine warmth.. and I speak for our guests as well when I say that. Our wedding was Iranian/American, and Nilou was able to speak to the hearts of both Farsi and English speakers.

From the moment we reached out to her about being our officiant, we received nothing but warmth and a genuine interest in us and the things that are the most important to us. Just in our first zoom call, she so easily absorbed the things that matter the most to us, and the things that make us who we are both as individuals and a unit. And on the wedding day she brought it all to life with her beautiful and powerful way of speaking, and shared those precious things with everyone that we love.

Nilou’s attention to detail is another thing that blew me and my husband away. From coordinating the rehearsal to asking what color of dresses my bridesmaids were wearing and the colors of the wedding so she can coordinate her outfit (which I’ve learned are always immaculate).

I could go on, but I’ll leave it with this. My husband and I could never have imagined a better officiant for what turned out to be the greatest day of our lives, and Nilou was such an important part of that.

Outstanding officiant!

We hired Nilou as our officiant for our Persian-American wedding after seeing her incredibly graceful ceremony officiating prowess at another family wedding and are so happy we did! She spent an incredible amount of time getting to know us as a couple and incorporating our love story into the ceremony. She also skillfully weaved in both the Farsi and English language into the ceremony with lovely poetry and overall made for a wonderfully beautiful ceremony we will never forget. On top of it all, she approached the day with such grace, carried out the ceremony with an overall beautiful presentation and speech, and was incredibly responsive to all of our questions/requests. Overall, we could not be happier with our decision to include her in our wedding ceremony and highly recommend her to others looking for a kind, graceful, and professional officiant!!

Best decision ever!

We are so happy we found Nilou!! She made our ceremony dreams come true. My husband is Persian and we wanted to incorporate both Persian and traditional ceremony elements. With the guidance and expertise of Nilou our ceremony was even better then we could have imagined.

Nilou met with us virtually three times before our wedding in Mexico. She guided us the whole way on various ceremony elements and how the ceremony would take place. She provided various options and incorporated all the elements of a Persian/traditional wedding. With both Persian and non Persian attendees Nilou translated the wedding in Farsi and English, explained many aspects of the ceremony to our guests and made us feel relaxed, comfortable and excited throughout the ceremony!

We highly recommend Nilou! Our wedding would not have been the same without her! All of our guests told us how wonder she was and how amazing the ceremony was!

Exceptional interfaith wedding officiant

My wife and I come from Hindu and Pakistani backgrounds, and our vision was to have a neutral wedding ceremony with minimal religious rituals. We searched high and low for an officiant in the Bay Area who could perform an interfaith ceremony, and couldn’t have found a more perfect fit than Nilou.

Right from the consultation, we felt a strong connection with her because she wanted to get to know us and our love story first, which was a more personal touch than the priests we talked to. Being very familiar with both our cultures, she was able to provide recommendations on the overall flow of the ceremony and custom tailor all the nuanced details to what we felt was right. Not only that, but on the day of the event she spoke so beautifully in her calming and poetic voice, and even wore a traditional desi style outfit that made our neutral ceremony still feel cultural.

After the event, several close family members told us that they were truly moved by the ceremony and that our officiant in particular did a fantastic job. We’d have to wholeheartedly agree with that assessment, and would highly recommend Nilou to anyone seeking an officiant who can beautifully weave together diverse cultural traditions to create a ceremony that is truly unique and personal.

She is the best officiant you can ever find. I give her 7 stars. Nilou has very delightful personality, she brought grace, love and happiness to our special day. she acted as wedding planner and organization of the settings, guests and time table the best way possible. The whole wedding ceremony was much more than we expected, even we already knew the time table and we rehears it with her.

Best Officiant!

Working with Nilou was a dream! I always knew I wanted to work with her on my special day (whenever that day came) and I'm so happy she was available and willing. We had a dual culture wedding with 2 separate ceremonies: one Hindu and one Persian. Nilou officiated our Persian wedding in a non-denominational format but still included the cultural Persian traditions. She took the time to get to know both of us, the story of our relationship and even spoke with our friends to get an outside perspective. With her research and preparation, the ceremony became extremely personal and meaningful. We opted to recite our own vows which Nilou read ahead of time and gave us notes regarding length and tone. Ironically enough, she didn't have us change anything about them and my husband and I ended up having VERY similar vows to one another which created a great moment during our ceremony. Her dedication, passion, and professionalism is evident through her clear communication and commitment to each & every couple. We received many compliments from our guests regarding our officiant. They mentioned her calming demeanor, her expert delivery and of course, her amazing style! Ceremonies are often not the element guests remember most about weddings, but with Nilou, we had a truly memorable ceremony. I couldn't recommend Nilou enough for a wedding of any culture!

Dream Ceremony

Choosing Nilou as our officiant was one of the no-brainer decisions we made for our Persian wedding. Having followed her on instagram for a year prior to reaching out to her, I loved her style, her professionalism, her class, and her hats! So when she told us she was available for our date we were absolutely thrilled. She flew down to San Diego for our wedding weekend so we covered her flights and hotel stay (well worth it). She is an excellent communicator, I always heard back from her in a timely manner. Our ceremony was the perfect amount of time (about 25 mins) and was so beautiful, clear, professional, and unique. Our guests RAVED about her. Our guests absolutely LOVED our ceremony, Persian and non-Persian. In fact, by the end of the weekend people were asking for her information from us to let other engaged couples know about her. She used the perfect mix of English and farsi, explained all the details of the ceremony, and did it with such grace. She was also very flexible with us and how we wanted our ceremony to flow. She gave us excellent guidance, but also appreciated our vision. Choosing her really made all the difference. I would 100% recommend her to other couples.

Absolutely Magical!! Nilou is the one and only. THE BEST at what she does. She made our wedding the talk of the town and warmed everyone's heart to its fullest. Amazing Officiant

It is not easy to find a wedding officiant that can customize your script and stay open to your ideas. I wanted a script that is both romantic and a little religious, in multiple languages like Arabic, Farsi and English. I was extremely happy with the results! We had a pleasure of working with Nilou Weddings this summer and it was a great experience. Everything, from her attention to detail, beautiful scripts and her attitude were beyond amazing. Best Decision

What an honor it was to have Nilou as our officiant for our special day. It was the best decision I made to have her officiate our marriage. She was so easy to work with and was always available to answer my emails and messages. The entire ceremony process was seamless. Nilou was such a huge support for us during the entire postponement of our wedding from 2020 to 2021 and change of venues that were in two different states. I'm so glad I had her design our Sofreh because she literally designed a Sofreh out of a fairytale storybook. It was a dream come true! Her style is glamorous, classic and timeless from the way she speaks, dresses and designs it's all represented with her style. Many of our friends and family complimented us on our ceremony. She has a beautiful way of making a unique ceremony designed for each couple, very personalized, romantic and adding every component that is special to the couple. Her beautiful voice set the tone for our entire wedding. I can't thank her enough for everything she did for us and for being such a huge part of our special day!

Best dressed officiant out there

Nilou performed our civil ceremony in May. I had seen her at a few friends' wedding before and I already like her a lot. She has a nice voice and is very good at reading poetry. Although I had seen her work before, it did not feel repetitive. She makes the ceremony feel personal and tailored to the couple. I highly recommend her. And the cherry on top: she is always very well dressed.

We were so incredibly happy to have had Mrs. Nouri be the officiant to our wedding. From the first moment we spoke to her, we knew that she would be the person that would set the tone for our entire day, and she certainly did. The ceremony was beautifully executed with the perfect mixture of Persian traditions sprinkled with American styles. We could not have imagined it any other way. Eternally Grateful

Nilou was highly recommended to us by 3 of our family/friends whose weddings she officiated-one of which we attended and solidified our decision to request her services. She's elegant, eloquent, professional and attentive. She spoke to us several times and asked us and those close to us details regarding our relationship and our love for each other. Even though we had seen her beautifully officiate the wedding of a dear friend, we were all blown away with how memorable and unique she made our wedding ceremony. She captured my husband and I's love in its totality with personal details, funny stories, beautiful quotes and poetry. Absolutely Amazing Ceremony

Nilou officiated my wife's and my Persian wedding ceremony this past October.

We had first reached out to her after struggling to find an officiant with knowledge of Persian wedding ceremonies in our area. After just one conversation with her we knew she was the one we wanted to marry us.

She is extremely knowledgeable about a variety of different types of ceremonies and was able to advise my wife and I on creating the perfect structure for ours. During our meetings, she asked us questions about how we’d met and what we loved most about each other, and was able to bring details about our relationship into the ceremony. She read beautiful selections from poems during the ceremony too--in perfect Farsi, English and even French--which she thought were good representations our relationship. Her presence during the ceremony was inspiring, and so were her words.

Overall, it was the most perfect ceremony we could have imagined. In the days following the wedding we received nothing but compliments from our family and friends, with many saying the ceremony was one of the highlights of the wedding for them. Since the wedding, we have been recommending her to every engaged person we know.

We were SO happy with Nilou's work as our officiant! Her experience and confidence was exactly what we needed to help guide us through planning our culturally hybrid and highly personalized ceremony. After several meetings discussing our plans, she came up with a beautiful, multi-lingual ceremony that represented both our humor and our deepest felt love for each other. One of the best in business

I started working with Nilou 8 months before my wedding as a day of planner and she exceeded my expectations. She was available for me anytime I needed her and started working with me almost 2 months before my big day. Most planners start working with you only a month or a week before. Wonderful Officiant!

Nilou officiated my brother's wedding in 2016, and I knew after that day that she would be the easiest vendor decision I would make once I got engaged (even though I was getting married halfway across the country). She spent time prior to the wedding getting to know my husband and myself to make sure our ceremony was exactly what we wanted for our dual culture (Iranian / Western) ceremony. Her attention to detail is wonderful, and she does a fantastic job customizing the ceremony.

Nilou is so elegant and professional! We had to make some changes right before the ceremony due to weather, and she made them seamlessly to the point where even I (as the bride) did not notice. Over half of our guests were not Persian, and she did a great job making them feel part of the ceremony by explaining the symbolism and meanings behind the many Iranian traditions.

We are still receiving so many compliments on our ceremony thanks to Nilou! Thank you for making our wedding ceremony so special!

Captivating and professional!

Would highly recommend!!

Nilou was an amazing officiant and we are glad that she was a part of our wedding ceremony. Excellent Officiant

Complete strangers raved about Nilou to my wife and I when we told them who was officiating our wedding and they were totally justified.

Nilou is an amazing officiant and was able to blend the Persian and western elements of our wedding seamlessly. She has a very calming and elegant presence, which made the event that much nicer. Not to mention she adjusted on the fly when we had a major hiccup at our ceremony.

Amazing officiant and day of coordinator

Booking Nilou as our officiant and day of coordinator was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! After meeting with her locally in San Francisco, we quickly realized that Nilou was not only highly professional and an expert at her trade but she also took time to get to know us and about our families to create a unique and memorable ceremony for our Persian American wedding across the country. She put everyone, especially us at ease, researching the out-of-state marriage license information and delivering a beautiful, eloquent ceremony. Before booking Nilou for our wedding, I had seen her officiate a few weddings. I was always extremely impressed by her. She is truly one of a kind. When my husband and I got engaged, we knew immediately we wanted a Persian wedding. I am Persian, but my husband is not. When it came time to book an officiant for our wedding, I wanted someone who I knew could capture the beautiful nuances of Persian culture and explain it to those who were not familiar with this style of wedding in a romantic, beautiful and hilarious way. We knew we wanted Nilou. There is no one else! Not only does Nilou engage the crowd, make everyone laugh, explain all the traditions perfectly in Farsi and English (or whatever you want - she is incredibly accommodating and will style your ceremony any way you desire) she shows up dressed to KILL! Her impeccable style is unforgettable. I have had so many guests come to me after the wedding, asking about her and commenting on how fabulous she is. The guests who had not attended a Persian wedding before were absolutely blown away by the ceremony, and many commented it was their favorite part of the night. A few guests even commented that Nilou had made it so easy and pleasant to follow along.
We absolutely loved having her and our wedding would not have been the same without her.
We would recommend her to all of our friends and family. If you want someone who will elevate your wedding ceremony in every way possible, you must give Nilou a call. We would pick her 10000 times over.

Asking Nilou to officiate our wedding ceremony was one of the best decisions we made in the planning process. Being 2nd generation Iranian kids in the South, we had friends and family of all different backgrounds attending our wedding ceremony. Nilou did such a perfect job getting to know us over FaceTime and email before the wedding, and incorporated our personalities and background into the ceremony as if we had known her our entire lives. My goodness, there is not enough space to write here how AMAZING Ms. Nilou Nouri is. We cannot thank this beautiful lady enough. She has been an angel and the biggest asset to the development and coordination of our wedding. Nilou is the Wonder Woman of planning, officiating, and saving weddings, no joke! After a year and a half of planning, everything literally burned to the ground only a month before the wedding date, and Nilou saved the day; but more on that later.
When I met Nilou, I was impressed by her portfolio of work and her professionalism. She understood exactly what I wanted and had amazing ideas that fit my vision. In time, I came to realize that she was an incredibly warm-hearted and patient individual that was masterful in managing the various requests from both sides of our families, while still staying true to what I wanted. She was very thorough and detail oriented, followed through on all inquiries, and went above and beyond what we expected from her.
As our officiant, she did a beautiful job of integrating all of our multicultural customs into one seamless ceremony. She did part of it in Farsi for our Persian guests, learned and memorized Hebrew verses for our Jewish guests, and translated all of it into English for our friends. She accomplished all of this in under one hour of ceremony time. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it, and said that it inspired them to learn more about each others' cultures.
But now I'll get to the part where she rescued our wedding from certain doom! Our wedding was on 11/11/17, and was set to be located in Santa Rosa, CA. Unfortunately, the Santa Rosa wildfires occurred just one month before, and we had no choice but to relocate. Within 24 hours, she found 4 local venues in San Jose for us to choose from. She not only saved our wedding day, she made it so much more amazing and beautiful than we ever imagined. We made sure to surprise her with a big thank you and a standing ovation during the reception.
Nilou is an absolute treasure to work with. She understands and follows her client's vision and cultural traditions, has impeccable taste, has a professional work ethic, and works well under pressure.

Nilou officiated our wedding recently and we could not have been happier! We had originally planned to just work with a typical justice of the peace at City Hall in San Francisco and were thrilled to learn that Nilou could do it instead. Yay! She created such a fun environment and really put a lot of thought and energy into making it a wonderful experience for everyone. Having Nilou officiate and put her own heartfelt personal touch on things really made our wedding. Nilou was an absolute dream to work with. She met with us in San Francisco on two different occasions before the ceremony and was so accommodating to our busy schedule. She was responsive in her emails from beginning to the end, even going as far to send us a copy of our marriage license while on our honeymoon. She worked with us to create a program for our non-denominational wedding - handpicking love poetry, quotes, and even working with a request from our parents to have their pastor speak in the beginning. She created the ceremony with such ease and every piece she chose fit like a perfect piece to our puzzle. She even coordinated her outfit to fit with our rustic-bohemian theme.

Nilou's kind, graceful, and calming presence brought the perfect amount of class and thoughtfulness to our wedding ceremony. She even added in a few kickers for laughs.

One additional plus: her years of experience speak to small things that she did throughout the wedding ceremony. After she wed us, she stepped aside so we could have pictures of our wedding kiss with just us in it. She pulled our witnesses aside to sign our marriage license without asking. She also made a FANTASTIC effort to meet our bridal party members at the rehearsal.

Any couple would be lucky to have her officiate their wedding! We love you Nilou!!!

As a Persian and American couple, we wanted to have a Persian-themed wedding ceremony that was inclusive to both of our families. Nilou Nouri has an incredible reputation for officiating Persian wedding ceremonies, she was our obvious first choice. She worked closely and intimately with us to design a ceremony that included both traditions from a Persian upbringing and a Protestant American upbringing. We were very happy with all the recommendations she made in crafting a personalized and sacred wedding ceremony.

In addition to being culturally inclusive, Nilou’s fluency in both English and Farsi, allowed her to customize a ceremony that was culturally eloquent too. She is an incredible public speaker and was very skillful at keeping the details meaningful, while keeping the attendees engaged. She has a good sense of humor keeping the mood lighthearted, yet also conveying an affectionate tone with words that poetically and romantically weave a beloved ceremony.

Nilou and her team were amazing! We had to plan our wedding from across the country in a very short time because of work schedules. We had initially made some plans, but it became apparent that we needed some professional guidance. Nilou and her team stepped in 60 days before the wedding and was able to ensure that the event went off perfectly. She was very attentive and extremely organized. In addition, because we could not get to the venue till a week before the wedding, Nilou helped us solve numerous last minute details and offered amazing suggestions that really completed our ceremony and the entire event. Nilou made our wedding day perfect!

We live in Florida and we wanted to get married by a woman in our favorite city, San Francisco. This made planning the wedding a bit more complicated but, with the help of the events planner at the Loews Regency Hotel, we chose Nilou.

After our first contact with Nilou we knew that we made the right choice. It was obvious that she sincerely cared about people and loved her chosen profession. Nilou scheduled time to talk to each of us privately (by phone) to get to know us and hear our unique love story from each of us individually. As a result of our conversations with Nilou, her first draft of the wedding script was perfect. We were so impressed with the brilliant job she did, even adding a little humor, it was as if she could see inside of us. It was so comforting to know that before we departed for California our wedding would be in good hands with Nilou.

On our wedding day Nilou arrived in breathtaking fashion, we were blow away by her grace and beauty. Nilou’s kindness and sense of humor kept us calm and cheerful for our special moment and she delivered her script with loving care that made our wedding perfect. Nilou is truly a wonderful person with a kind heart and it shines through in everything she does.

Nilou was a wonderful officiant. She was elegant, articulate and professional. I am Persian and my husband is American. I really wanted a traditional, non-religious Persian ceremony to highlight my beautiful culture in front of our guests. I also wanted someone who was knowledgeable about Persian traditions and fluent in both Farsi and English, so we could have a bilingual ceremony that catered to guests from both of our families. We found videos of Nilou online and were so impressed with her. She was exactly what I was looking for. I reached out to her and she was very responsive. Nilou was incredible! I (Bride) am Persian and born/raised in the US, and my husband is Persian and born/raised in Iran. We wanted to have a traditional aghd that would be customized for us as individuals. Since most of our guests did not speak Farsi, we were also looking for someone who spoke both English and Farsi beautifully. Nilou was exactly what we were looking for, and we were lucky enough that she was available when we booked her only 3 months before our wedding. She was even willing to take an early morning flight from Portland the day after another wedding so she could arrive in Milan only a few hours before our ceremony. While we never met Nilou in person before our ceremony, she delivered on everything she promised on - we spoke to her a few times by phone/Skype and emailed with her about our ceremony outline. She was always very professional and responsible. She did an exceptional job of weaving together the ancient Persian aghd traditions with what people expect in a wedding ceremony today. We were very specific that we did not want any religious elements but preferred a more romantic/poetic feeling which is exactly what the ceremony was. Many of our guests told us it was the most beautiful ceremony they have attended and though they had not attended a Persian aghd before, found it very interesting. We highly recommend Nilou to anyone who is looking to have a Persian aghd!

Nilou did an incredible job with our ceremony! We (bride and groom) come from different backgrounds (American, Filipino and Persian) and she did a wonderful job including aspects from all traditions. Nilou handled her responsibilities with the utmost amount of class, professionalism, elegance, grace, and humor. Nilou is fabulous and the most extraordinary officiant and wedding coordinator. She is exceptionally thoughtful, kind, and generous, and she has excellent taste, wonderful instincts, and a perfect way with people. When my partner and I decided to have a small wedding at San Francisco City Hall, we looked for an officiant who could incorporate Zoroastrian traditions and cultural and personal elements we cared most about and we found Nilou. She went on to make our wedding day more meaningful and beautiful than we could have imagined. We first met with Nilou about six months before our wedding to talk about what we envisioned for our ceremony and to learn more about each other. And then we stayed in touch as Nilou helped us with every detail of that day, always responding right away and in ways that were so helpful--connecting us to an outstanding florist, finding a private cable car service to take our party to a post-ceremony reception at the Slanted Door, arranging every detail down to clear umbrellas for the rainy part of the day. Nilou prepared a ceremony that moved everyone present and drew in our families' different cultural traditions. We will always be so grateful and happy for the way Nilou helped us bring our loved ones and us together through our celebration. This review is loooong overdue seeing as how the wedding was this past October. Nilou was both my officiant and coordinator. I'm honestly not sure what I would have done without her throughout the process of getting married. As my coordinator, Nilou went above and beyond the call of duty. I experienced almost no stress the day of the wedding due in large part to Nilou. As an officiant, Nilou was amazing and made our ceremony feel quite unique.

As a coordinator, with the assistance of Lily, Nilou did an unbelievably fantastic job. A couple of weeks before the wedding, I was quite stressed with all of the little details and Nilou swooped in to alleviate much of that stress. Her attention to detail was magnificent and the venue was set up beyond my expectations. I truly trusted Nilou throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Nilou -- she is both personable and professional! My only regret is that I did not write this review sooner.

It was a pleasure working with Nilou for our wedding ceremony. She went above and beyond to perform a wonderful wedding ceremony for us that we will always remember and cherish. We had an Egyptian-Persian wedding and it was my goal to combine the fascinating cultures in our wedding while at the same time engaging guests from both sides. We had guests who only understood Farsi or Arabic or English and so we requested from her that the wedding ceremony be a mix of Persian poems and blessings along with Arabic loves quotes/poems/blessings as well as English. She delivered an excellent and outstanding wedding ceremony in Farsi-Arabic-and English and our guests were beyond happy. My husband and I met with many officiants before the wedding in search for the one who would be able to fulfill our dream of delivering a multi cultured ceremony that would engage all of our guests. And while we felt that all the other officiants had their pros and cons, Nilou was by far our chosen one. Her Farsi, English, and Arabic is clear and fluent. Furthermore, she worked closely with us before the wedding to get to know us better. She was very responsive with her emails and telephone calls. She even stopped by the bridal suite before in the morning of the wedding to congratulate us in person before the start of the ceremony. Oh and her outfit was gorgeous!! I had 6 bridesmaids for my wedding all wearing a gorgeous burgundy strapless dress and Nilou managed to find almost the exact color of the bridal party's gowns where she created a wonderful and confluent blend in colors. She is also a good friend and stays in contact with you after the wedding. We wish her and her family all the best and hope to see her again at future events.

Our wedding was in September 2016 a very busy month for weddings! We were initially supposed to have our friend fly in to be our Officiant, unfortunately about a month before hand, she had to back out due to work conflicts. Thankfully she told us early enough! So just another minor setback among others when planning a wedding. We reached out to our wedding planner, Halina from A Touch of Grace, who found that Nilou was available the day of our wedding! We met Nilou before the wedding and we are so glad we did! She really did a great job with our Ceremony! We were so pleased the way it turned out! THE MOST INCREDIBLE WEDDING CEREMONY!!! We hired Nilou to officiate our wedding ceremony. We did both a Persian ceremony (aghd) and Christian ceremony. Nilou first met with me to get an idea of what I was looking for and to also get some information on me and my husband as a couple. She carefully designed the ceremony to match our personalities and to match the qualities that drew my husband and I together. Once she put together an outline of what she planned to say during the ceremony - she sent me a copy to see if I had any edits and comments and incorporated those in. We then had her come to the rehearsal to practice everything with us in person. On the wedding day SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I still have people telling me how great the ceremony was. The ceremony was poetic, fluid, personalized, and romantic - all in one. It is truly an art that she has mastered. Most people get bored during the ceremony or are uninterested - but everyone in the room was captivated. During the planning process, you may not realize it because you will be tied up in details like flowers, music, and food, but the ceremony is absolutely the most important part of the wedding and Nilou made that happen for us. Hiring her for our ceremony was the BEST DECISION I made during the entire process. Thank you so much, Nilou!

Nilou was a pleasure to work with and I am so glad I found her to conduct the ceremony of my wedding! She is experienced, creative, kind and professional. Both my husband and I were very impressed with how she conducted our ceremony in three languages (French, Farsi and English) to honor the multi-culturalism in our families. Many of our guests also complimented us on her services. She wrote a delightful and poetic ceremony and even dressed to match the colors of our wedding. Additionally, she took the time to get to know my husband and I so as to provide us with the ceremony we desired. She followed up her services by taking care of the paperwork involved with the marriage certificate soon after the wedding. Last but not least she provided me with a well-designed pamphlet to describe the sofreh items to my non-Iranian guests. I made copies of this pamphlet, created a scroll and made one for each of the guests. This was a nice touch that highlights her attention to detail.

We just got married a week ago and Nilou was our officiant :) There can't possibly be a better officiant out there than this woman! When we first contacted her she immediately responded. We met soon after that and she was so professional and personable that we felt so comfortable and knew she was the perfect fit for us. She kept us in the loop as she was working on the ceremony outline. She was so supportive and easy-going with the way that we wanted to customize the ceremony. We got married mid-December and decided to contract Nilou as our officiant. She responded very quickly to our query and we met over Skype to get introduced and see if Nilou could realize our vision for our ceremony. We were not disappointed! We had a very specific idea about what the flow of our ceremony would be and Nilou was more than helpful in designing the flow with us. She helped us incorporate some regional customs and traditions, and in the end we had a perfect ceremony that included Western as well as Iranian elements. Nilou is super flexible and works WITH you to realize YOUR vision.

On the wedding day, Nilou arrived at the venue on time, went over some last minute details with us, and did NOT disappoint. She looked very professional and conducted the ceremony flawlessly. Our guests (mixed crowd of Iranians & Non-Iranians) spoke very highly of the ceremony afterwards. Everybody was kept engaged as Nilou conducted parts of the ceremony in English and other parts in Farsi.

Her fees are a little bit on the higher side, but Nilou is worth every penny!

Nilou was all we wanted for our Persian ceremony. She was well educated about Persian ceremony (Aghd) and was well experienced to perfectly present this tradition (Aghd) in both Farsi and English languages with beautiful poetry, meaningful phrases and humor. Our ceremony had a very smooth and elegant flow due to her organization skills, experience and perfectly time-framed presentation.

What do you do when you decide 72 hours prior to your holiday vacation that you want to have an elopement? Call Nilou. My husband and I found her information online and emailed her straight away. She quickly responded with all the information we required for an elopement in San Francisco. She was very happy to answer all the questions we had concerning a quick ceremony at San Francisco City Hall. Due to not having a witness, her cousin was nice enough to come to the ceremony and serve as our witness. We met them at city hall and they guided us through a smooth and wonderful ceremony. Can't say how grateful we are for Nilou and her services! Don't mess with the rest! Get the best!

Nilou's thoughtful, warm, and soulful presence added such a special touch to our mixed Persian-American wedding ceremony! Both my husband and I agreed that getting to know her during the wedding planning was one of our favorite parts of the whole process. She moved our guests with her recitation of poetry and explanation of the wedding costumes in both English and Persian. Hearing my parents sigh as she read a Sa'di poem in Persian and then translated it into English made my whole night. The recitations she chose were unique and really touched the aspects of our relationship that we most wanted to share. She has a beautiful and gracious manner and her presence at any wedding will elevate it to another level.

I recently got married in San Francisco with Nilou as my officiant. Every person I spoke with after the wedding, made comments about how GREAT Nilou's ceremony was and also about her overall elegance! She performed the ceremony in English and in Farsi and it was beautiful. She stuck to our timeline perfectly and she was very responsive and accommodating to our wishes. I highly recommend using Nilou's services as she will not disappoint! We initially met over skype a few times so Nilou could get to know us since we do not live in California. She also took the time to speak with my mother and my father over the phone to make sure all their wishes were met as well. My parents also loved her from the start! She then provided an outline of everything with all the bases covered! She really made this part of the wedding planning a breeze. We hired Nilou to officiate my daughter's wedding ceremony. Nilou was fantastic in all aspects of this event. She took the time to understand the bride and the groom's desires for the ceremony, suggested an outstanding sequence of what needed to happen during the ceremony. She was always available to answer our questions and more importantly, she was a great listener. It was so impressive when she also coordinated her outfit to match the color theme of the wedding. Her speech during the ceremony was the highlight of the whole wedding with the right tone of the voice, demeanor and grace.

Nilou was absolutely amazing! My husband and I found Nilou to marry us last minute. She was so sweet to take us on such short notice. I recently got married in central Illinois in a mixed Persian/American wedding and though Nilou did not actually officiate my wedding, she helped us make our ceremony special by re-writing our script. She was so gracious in sharing her talent and her time with us and truly made our ceremony unique and so incredibly memorable. We got so many compliments because no one expected it, especially here in central Illinois. For most of our guests, this was the first introduction to our rich culture and they left in awe.

Everyone commented on how beautiful the ceremony was. How nicely she had weaved in bits of Persian history and culture into what otherwise was a stock script. Nilou truly made our ceremony special and personalized and we couldn't be more thankful. She's super talented and a joy to work with. Her professionalism and responsiveness is top-notch. My family is American. We recently hosted the wedding of our son to a young Persian woman, whose family observes and practices traditional Persian customs. While I was all in favor of embracing a cross cultural event, I did not want anybody on either side to feel uncomfortable or offended. We wanted somebody who could speak Farsi and English, could communicate the rich traditions of the Persian wedding, and could perform the Western ceremony ... all in a spiritual, nondenominational manner. Mission accomplished!!

The kids found Nilou through reviews, so I know how important this is. Upon our first meeting with Nilou, we knew she was the perfect fit. Cultured, knowledgeable, thoughtful, funny, happy ... not to mention, beautiful. All this came through in our ceremony. Nilou customized a lovely ceremony that spoke to both cultures in a very meaningful way. She even coordinated her attire with the bridal party! Both sides (including my {very} Catholic family) could not say enough nice things about our ceremony. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Nilou did a wonderful job with our wedding and we highly recommend her. My husband and I could not be happier with how she handled our persian ceremony. We had both persian and american guests and Nilou did an amazing job keeping everyone engaged and translating where necessary. Her selection of persian poems were perfect and we loved the humor and laughter she brought. Nilou is very professional and great at what she does. I got married in July in NYC and really wanted to choose an officiant who could conduct a ceremony that would beautifully mesh both my Iranian and American roots in a ceremony that would be moving for all of my multicultural guests and also be appreciated by my African husband and his family, and all of our American friends.

From our first skype meeting she showed the utmost professionalism. From being on-time to our virtual meeting to the minute, to being prepared with a series of questions about me, my now husband, our story, our beliefs, what we want to achieve out of our ceremony, our wedding colors and details, you name it. She had every detail covered down to the T in our very first meeting.

Being the perfectionist I am, I knew immediately I wanted her and appreciated her diligence and attention to detail, and most of all her warm personality which I knew would attract my guests.

We had several more meetings, fine tuning the details and really writing a script that beautifully blended our cultures, with a nice mix of English and Farsi, beautiful persian poetry, a beautiful explanation of the different components of the persian sofreh spread. She also shared a lovely flyer with me of the persian ceremony spread and it's meaning that was stunning and I was able to customize it and print it for my guests.

And so the wedding day came, and there she was, as beautiful and kind as ever, with a dress that matched my persian ceremony spread. Besides her beautiful presence, the ceremony was even more lovely. Oh how I loved it so! Our non-persian guests were so intrigued by the sofreh and her explanation of the components.

But what is so wonderful about Nilou is she will make it YOUR day. She will inquire with you about your partner's beliefs, read about your culture (just as she did about my husband's Ghanian culture!) and do whatever research necessary to achieve your vision for your ceremony so that it is everything you envisioned and more!

Nilou was absolutely wonderful! Her process was so professional and so personalized. Upon first sitting down with her, Nilou asked us to share important elements of our relationship and some of our fond memories. After our meeting, she followed up incredibly promptly to recap and send us additional information and questionnaires to help us make decisions about personalizing our ceremony. On the day of, she was so gracious to our guests and incredibly helpful in explaining the Persian Aghd to my side of the family who are not Persian and are new to this ceremony. Her use of our personal stories, the inclusion of beautiful readings and poems, and the seamless transition between Farsi and English made our ceremony incredibly unique and absolutely beautiful. My family greatly enjoyed the ceremony and that was entirely due to Nilou's professional sense of balance between the two languages and knowing how and when to explain special cultural elements.
Lastly, while this likely won't apply to other potential clients, I do believe that this story will express how tailored Nilou's ceremonies are. My husband and I were married in June and his sister was married the previous December. Nilou also presided over this wedding. With our ceremony coming second, and nearly half of the guests having been to the first wedding, ours had the potential to be a bit repetitive. Nilou did a fantastic job not only personalizing her stories, readings, and poems, but also being creative with her format and style to create a unique atmosphere for our special day.

My husband and I had the honor of having Nilou officiate our wedding ceremony in Miami, Florida this May. This is the second wedding she has officiate for our family as she also married my husband's sister last August. Immediately following that ceremony, we knew that we wanted to have her marry us. We couldn't recommend her more highly.

Nilou's calming presence, general kindness, responsiveness, and preparedness were so welcome during our wedding preparations. My husband and I are not Persian. Nilou took the time to learn about our backgrounds and families and crafted a truly personal and touching ceremony. Every reading she chose reflected our views on love and commitment. She was kind enough to recite poetry in French and Arabic and included authors that were culturally significant to our families, Khalil Gibran, Rumi, Proust.

Nilou was beautiful on the day of the wedding! She made a point to research the venue and inquire about our wedding colors so that she could coordinate her outfit. Her class and poise immediately drew our guest's attention when she walked down the aisle and they stayed engaged throughout the ceremony -- this is evident from our pictures.

The best compliment we received afterwards was how representative the ceremony was of us as a couple. We are thankful that Nilou created such a special experience for us, our families, and friends. We couldn't have asked for kinder blessings or a sweeter start to our married life.

You would be very wise to work with Nilou, we can't recommend her more highly!

Nilou is absolutely wonderful. Her thoughtful words and willingness to accommodate our needs made our special day extra special. We had some last minute change on the day of our wedding. Where do I begin in describing this amazing woman? Nilou was the officiant at my Persian wedding about a month ago - my guests are still calling me and telling me how amazing she was. Yes, that's right. Many of my guests said that they loved our ceremony, and that Nilou had a lot to do with it! Not only was she a beautiful addition to our wedding photos, she struck the perfect balance of serious and professional, yet emotional and funny. She effortlessly weaved together Farsi and English and elements of both cultures into the wedding ceremony. She also did a wonderful job of incorporating into her script various details about my husband and me - you would have thought she had known us for years. She was a true pleasure to work with at every stop of the process - from the moment my husband and I first met with her to the rehearsal to the ceremony itself. I'm not kidding when I say that our guests - both Persian and non-Persian - said that they wanted to have a Persian ceremony after seeing Nilou in action. Nilou officated our wedding November 2014. We are still receiving compliments on what an amazing ceremony it was. It was more romantic and sweet than I could have imagined. Our goal was to make our families and friends feel part of the ceremony and highlight the beauty of both our cultures (I am Arab and my husband is Persian). With over 220 guests, she found a way to make our ceremony feel intimate - no small feat! Nilou went the extra mile to really understand each of us, our relationship, and our families. She honored our wishes for a modern, secular, non-religious ceremony while still highlighting our culture, values, love, and communities. It was important for us that we find a way to honor my late mother and to incorporate Arabic into a traditional Farsi tradition. She incorporated Arabic poetry and translated it to English and Farsi so everyone could feel included. Her touch of humor put everyone in a great mood and it really set the mood for the rest of the evening. We had several non-Persians ask us about the ceremony for their own renewals and everyone was so impressed with Nilou! I also feel there's something magical about a female officiant that brings out the extra warmth in a marriage ceremony.

We cannot thank Nilou enough for her mesmerizing performance at our daughter's wedding and to contributing to what was called by everyone the best wedding they had ever attended. This means a lot when we had guests from all over the world.

Being a mixed marriage and with more than half of the guests not being familiar with the Persian ceremony, Niou's role was extremely sensitive. With her beauty, angelic voice, magical words and poetry recitations, she cast a magic spell on the whole ceremony and heightened the emotions in the room.

Since the wedding was in Vancouver, Canada, we also had to have the presence of a Canadian officiant. Nilou's seamless orchestration of the whole event - transition from Persian ceremony to Canadian and back to Persian - with so much ease and grace was truly astonishing.

Over the past few months and through numerous telephone and skype calls, Nilou came to know the bride and groom very well and knew exactly what they wanted. During the ceremony and from the expression on the face of the bride and groom, you could see that she had since become their great friend and confidant.

We are happy to be using once again Nilou's services at my son's upcoming wedding in San Francisco.

My husband and I were trying to construct what most would consider a "modern" ceremony. One not rooted in religion or spirituality, while still paying tribute to the combining of our lives and communities in an inspiring way. We wanted our Officiant to be commanding yet tender, an intellectual with a direct delivery who could create a custom program that felt 100% authentic to our love. Needless to say, this was no easy task. We were truly lucky to have found Nilou, and we immediately felt a connection with her. From the moment we met it was very clear that we had found the embodiment of all the qualities we were searching for. She was flexible and incredibly easy to work with throughout the entire process, with an unparalleled professionalism and attention to detail. To top all this off, she is strikingly beautiful. What a ceremony Nilou handled for us!! Perfect. She blended two ceremonies (aghd and American) and the outcome was the best of the two mixed with poetry and even some laughter. I loved the fact that she engaged the audience. Bride and groom (my son) felt so at ease and loved it. They had selected Nilou after talking to a few officiants and she proved that this was the right choice.

I was amazed of how many positive comments we received from the guests of all ages (youngest was 15 and eldest was 94). The ceremony was appealing to all.

Hands down, the best wedding officiant I have ever seen in my life, and I'm not just saying this because she officiated our wedding! We heard about Nilou through family friends and brought her out to our wedding in Washington DC. Nilou captivated our guests with a truly memorable ceremony that our guests are still talking about. While unfortunately Persian wedding officiants are typically boring and bland, Nilou was a breath of fresh air - she was friendly, stylish, and was able to capture emotion, class, culture, tradition, and humor all while adding a distinctly modern flair to our wedding ceremony. Nilou officiated my wedding in September and did an absolutely amazing job! She was great at incorporating Farsi into the service with nice poems by Rumi and other great poets which my in-laws very much appreciated! She has a lovely voice and rhythm to her delivery and incorporates a little humor into the service which was nice and even got the crowd to engage which was super cute and sweet touch!

While she included Farsi into our wedding I am sure she would do great for more traditional wedding where translation is not needed. Nilou is polite, easy to communicate, timely, and is also quite stylish which being a fashionista of sorts, I loved. The day of my wedding she was dressed impeccably and looked so cute and stylish I got comments on how cool she looked, which was of course not a requirement of an officiant but it was a great touch to my garden glam wedding at the Fairmont Hotel in SF! I would highly recommend Nilou to officiate any wedding and am positive she would add elegance to any occasion and do amazing job!

Words cannot express how wonderful Nilou is and how highly I recommend her for your wedding ceremony. I was surprised by how many of our guests specifically commented to me about how much they loved her officiating and her words. She got to know us in person before our wedding and communicated with us throughout the process. My husband is American and I am half Arab, half American, so I wanted the ceremony to reflect our different cultures. Nilou integrated both Western and Middle Eastern traditions into the ceremony beautifully. She took time to learn Arabic verses and poetry and added them into the ceremony along with wonderful Persian poetry. She also added special touches about us, meaningful vows, and even humor into the ceremony. Her beautiful style also added to the elegance of the occasion, and I loved her special hat and outfit to match the bridesmaids and our wedding colors. Nilou made our ceremony one that we will never forget and I cannot recommend her enough. I truly love her as a person and you would be lucky to have her!

I decided early in my wedding planning that I would like to also have a Persian ceremony to introduce my culture to my family to be. I searched the websites for just the right fit for our ceremony. I came across Wedding Vows by Nilou and her picture and reviews immediately attracted me. I called and spoke with Nilou and fell a little more in love with her. One Sunday my then fiancé and I decided to go a Persian Wedding Vendor Show. It was there that I absolutely fell in love with Nilou. Her beauty, professionalism, organization and class took my breath away. Even more I fell in love with her humility, elegance and kind heart.

Nilou set a meeting date for Basim and I to get to know us better, to also hear our story. She wrote down notes, came in with a list of questions which even in that moment of us being frantic with wedding planning made us revisit when we first fell in love. When we first knew we want our commitment to be for a life time.

August 10, 2014 we got married in Sonoma. Nilou arrived two hours before the ceremony just to meet with me again and calm my nerves. :) She came in met with all vendors involved in the Persian ceremony to go over their parts.

The Persian ceremony was FLAWLESS! Said my now father in-law. In fact all guests were so touched by the elegance and beauty of how the efficient Nilou captured their hearts. Nilou we are beyond words. You are an amazing, elegant and beautiful person. Thank you for being such a huge part of our day!

Nilou consulted my brother in law and new sister in law on their wedding ceremony. She did an amazing job. She is very articulate and bright and just knows her stuff. An amazing event!!! Nilou made our event so special and unique. She takes time to meet with the couple and the family and integrated her findings beautifully in her ceremony remarks. Each event is customized , an A+ performance. 3/4 of our guests wanted her business card after her address .

Niloufar is such a nice person and very professional. She did a wonderful job officiating our Persian American wedding. She made my husband, guests and I all feel very welcome and warm. Her ceremony was great and she is very helpful with vows, poems, etc. She did a wonderful job and dressed up for the occasion! Incorporating some Persian traditions into our ceremony was a big deal for me. Nilou not only listened to all the things my fiancé and I wanted incorporated into our ceremony but did a fantastic job personalizing it as well. She worked well with our priest who did the Christian portion of our wedding and the ceremony flowed really well. We had the perfect blend of both a Christian Ceremony as well as Persian Agh'd. I came across Wedding Vows by Nilou's webpage and I instantly knew I have found our perfect officiant. My husband and I are Iranian and I wanted someone to perform the ceremony in both Persian and English languages, but I didn't want the traditional old religious man. Nilou was exactly the person I was looking for. A beautiful and modern young woman who reads romantic Rumi and Hafiz poems in both languages fluently and fits beautifully in whatever theme your wedding might be.

I also want to mention that, my husband and I met with Nilou a few months before our wedding and were very impressed with her. We talked about some of the details, but ended up changing date, location and the type of our ceremony. Through all that Nilou was always accommodating, supportive and very professional. I feel honored to have had Nilou officiate our wedding and highly recommend her services to everyone.

NIlou was amazing! She was so eloquent and powerful with her words that a large group of 200+ guests felt more like a small intimate gathering. Nilou not only customized our ceremony to our individual personalities and views on marraige, but she also made it a beautiful fusion of both of our cultures. I was asked recently to witness the marriage ceremony of a friend in Northern California.
Nilou was their Officiant and I thought she did an exceptional job. I have been to many weddings and witnessed many officiants at work.
This ceremony was conducted elegantly and with so much grace, but also full of love and emotion - there were moments of laughter and tears, some really beautiful poetry, recited in Persian and translated to English, and even some exciting pieces of information about the couple and their love story. It was great, full of symbolism and interesting to listen to. Truly one of a kind!

Nilou was a gem to work with. She really cares about the bride and groom. She spends her time to get to know you and figure out how you want your ceremony performed. In my case, I had no clue what I wanted so she really helped my fiance and I to think through the Persian traditions to decide which we wanted to keep, throw out, or modify. At the end, she tailored the ceremony to perfectly reflect our personalities and our beliefs. Our guests were blown away with how eloquently she spoke. They all wanted a copy of the poems that she read.
She even went out of her way to match the colors of our wedding, so in the end, all of our ceremony photos looked beautiful. She made the whole process a lot easier. I HIGHLY recommend having Nilou perform your ceremony.
