The Nassau Inn is a hotel with a banquet hall and restaurant for couples looking to get married in the Central New Jersey area. This classic venue features all the elegant sophistication of a historic building, with the nearly tangible romance of another era. Couples can find this charming wedding venue in Princeton, New Jersey, just a six-minute walk from the Princeton University Art Museum.
Facilities and Capacity
Couples can celebrate their wedding day with up to 180 attendees. There are indoor and outdoor options at this venue for a couple’s wedding. The patio is a lovely space for a ceremony during warmer seasons. Upon this courtyard patio of stone, couples will find unique backdrops for their ceremony, from a wooden set wall to a bright red door built into a house of dark stone. While the outdoor spaces offer plenty of quirks and privacy for a couples wedding day, they can also choose to have the ceremony in one of the many intimate rooms in the inn. The Nassau Inn has one large ballroom for couples, with a number of other smaller event rooms. The Prince William Ballroom, the largest space, features a wooden dance floor upon carpet, polished wooden molding around a white ceiling, golden chandeliers, subtle golden wallpaper, and other antique accents that add charm and romance to a couple’s wedding reception. The more petite Palmer Room is also available for couple’s wedding-related functions, from an indoor ceremony or an intimate reception to a bridal shower or engagement party. This versatile room has only the limits of a couple’s imagination.
Overnight accommodations are available at this exquisite inn. There is also a bridal suite, and a kitchen team ready to create a wedding cake specially for each couple that comes through the door. Event planning and lighting and sound services can be found through helpful staff members at this wedding venue. Guests will arrive with style thanks to onsite parking, valet parking, and shuttle service, leaving no one behind.
Couples don’t need to worry about ordering outside alcohol for their wedding reception. The fully stocked bar has everything couples will need, from champagne for a toast to premium liquor options. American cuisine can be prepared for a couple’s wedding menu, with options offered to accommodate most dietary restrictions. These dishes can be served in the following catering styles for a couple’s wedding:
Guest rooms and suites are available in this venue, each with its own unique vintage charm. In total, there are 157 guest rooms and 31 suites at the Nassau Inn. Though the styles and some of the furnishings are antique, all the technology in the hotel is new and up-to-date, allowing guests to rest in comfort. Suites feature separate sitting, and sometimes dining, areas for guests who choose to upgrade their stay. These appear like little houses straight out of the past.
The Nassau Inn began as the Nassau Tavern in 1756, when it was built by Judge Thomas Leonard. Following his passing, the tavern became an inn, and welcomed many a famous guest. This included the likes of Paul Revere, Robert Morris, and Thomas Paine, a guest who frequented the establishment. Through times of peace and war, surplus and hardship, the inn has stood its ground, making the facility the perfect location for couples to build their foundation of a new life.

Get married here! Absolute perfection!
We got married at the Nassau Inn three weeks ago and it was literally the most amazing day ever! We fell in love with the Inn the second we saw it. It was quaint, right in the heart of Princeton, so different than the typical NJ venue and honestly, it just felt special. We met with Melissa Dill, their wedding coordinator and felt a connection right away. She understood our vision for the day and we felt confident that she could make it all happen. We wanted a date about 7-8 months out and she was flexible in giving us options and helped to make the planning feel easy.Sent on 10/01/2019
We loved that it was all in one place. We stayed there for the weekend (had our rehearsal dinner in town), got ready in the suite the morning of with our bridal party (super spacious and made for great pics), went to St. Paul's Catholic Church down the street to get married, took pictures around town and the campus and got back in time for cocktail hour (which had indoor and outdoor space which was very cool).
Melissa had set up the room better than I had imagined. We had 140 guests so it felt full but never crowded. Cocktail hour was easy to navigate, get drinks and mingle with friends and family. Melissa greeted our guests and even offered to take thier cards so they didn't have to hold them while they ate (multiple people mentioned that they loved this little touch)!
When we went upstairs for dinner and dancing, everything continued to be flawless. Melissa and her team were in lockstep with my DJ so everything went off perfectly. The first and second courses were served immediately following speeches, which allowed for optimal time on the dance floor! Main course was pre-selected via the RSVP so the servers just confirmed orders versus taking them (was nervous about this at first but was also flawlessly executed). All the food was delicious (personal recommendation would be the risotto cake and short rib).
We ended the night surprising our guests with the pork roll egg and cheese package (which got rave reviews) and a sparkler send off on the patio. We then headed to the Yankee Doodle Tap Room (bar also right in the Nassau Inn), which allowed the party to keep going and people could leave whenever they wanted to go upstairs to their room.
We also paid for a private breakfast the morning after which was... perfect! They re-purposed all of our flowers as centerpieces, the food was delicious and it was a great time to talk about the night and see everyone before they headed out!
Literally 5 stars across the board. I cannot thank everyone at the Nassau Inn enough. A special thank you to Melissa but also, THANK YOU to each server, bartender, front desk staff member and Jean Claude, concierge, you are all amazing!

We held our entire wedding weekend at Nassau Inn and could not have asked for anything more!
We had our pre-wedding "meet and greet", wedding ceremony, reception and post-wedding brunch at Nassau Inn, and every event was exactly as I had hoped it would be! Jaime at Nassau Inn (as well as everyone else on staff, especially Melissa and Christine) was wonderful to work with! Even though it's a hotel, I felt we were able to personalize our wedding and make it unique. The food at all events was delicious and earned praise from all our guests. Most of our out-of-town guests stayed at Nassau Inn and were equally impressed with the hotel service during their stays. Jaime accommodated all our special wedding day and brunch requests and always communicated quickly and clearly. In addition, all of Nassau Inn's recommended vendors that we ended up using were reliable and a pleasure to work with. Even my husband who is quite critical gave Jaime and the whole team at Nassau Inn the highest marks!Sent on 09/18/2019

Perfect Wedding Reception Venue!
We hosted our wedding reception at the Nassau inn last December and 100+ of our guests stayed at the Inn. The venue itself was a perfect setting; quant, charming, and picturesque, especially with all the holiday decorations setup in Palmer Square. Melissa served as our venue event coordinator, and was in constant contact with us throughout the process. Melissa excludes enthusiasm and her tenure with the Inn has made her an expert at coordinating events within the spaces that the inn has to offer. We had so much fun ironing the details of our wedding weekend with her. Aside from the reception, Melissa also helped us facilitate a Friday night welcome party in the tap room, and a post wedding brunch - if we asked, she made it happen. During the events, Nicole and the event team catered to us and our guests consistently to make sure everyone had what they needed. Everything ran on time, and was setup perfectly, just as it was originally relayed to us. Jaime and Stephanie were our point people in rooms blocks, and in accommodating our family and friends comfortably at the inn. They were both so easy to work with, and were so responsive. Given that the inn is the only hotel in town, we were pleased to be able to have nearly all of our out of town guests accommodated at the hotel. We were so well cared for the entire weekend, as were our guests; from the bellhop, to the front desk personnel to the servers, the entire staff was so lovely and outstanding. We love the Nassau inn and plan to celebrate our anniversaries there in the future!Sent on 01/19/2019
