A Barong Tagalog is a very special and fancy formal shirt worn by Filippino men. This is what all of the men in our wedding wore. Actually, most of the male guests wore them, too! It is exceptionally comfortable to wear these in hot weather, and it's very nice to look good and be comfortable at the same time.
MyBarong has a stunning array of color and embroidery. There are several different fabrics from which to choose. You can actually even customize, if you have the time to wait! If you don't have the time to wait, their selection is still broad enough and in a wide enough variety of sizes to accomodate even American sizes. We had no difficulty finding a Barong for my dad, who is typically Germanic in height and girth, but was enthusiastic to wear a Barong for my wedding.
This company is only available on the web; they have no bricks-and-mortar store. However, those who are concerned about not being able to fit the shirts properly are provided with a very extensive fitting guide. It's the most helpful guide I've found, and I've used it as a standard sewing source, and refered other people to the site for this purpose alone!
The prices are surprisingly low -- particularly for the quality of the garment!! These are every bit as beautiful as the Barongs we have bought in the Philippines. This is because they are from the Philippines, they really are the authentic thing. Our order arrived a full week before we expected it. When we had a question, my now husband made a phone call and expected the typical annoying phone tree. He got a human. His question was answered in less than 2 minutes, and he was so impressed he added to our order.
