Reviews of MW Tux

We saw some sample tuxes at a Bridal show we went to almost a year before our actual wedding date. We decided to go in the store to check them out, a few months later. I spoke to an associate who told me I had to make an appointment. I dont think he was actually from the store that we were going to go to, but he set up the appointment as normal. When we arrived at the MW Tux, no one was aware of our appointment, they actually told us we didnt need an appointment. Although when they started helping us, we were constantly interrupted by the associate having to help other customers. They proceeded to ask us if we had already set up our wedding party (which I had no idea what they were referring to) and when I looked like I didnt know what was going on, they looked at me like I was an idiot. After that confusion, we began setting up the bridal party. When we told them our wedding date, they told us it was too soon to be in there and told us to come back a month before the actual wedding. My finance did try on several jacket styles but none were the color or type we had told them we were looking at having for the wedding. Overall I think they were very rude and seemed like they were in a hurry to get us out of there.

The second time we went in, we had made another appointment for a Saturday evening. Luckily it wasnt as busy. They still did not even care that we had an appointment, they took us right away. This time we went in 3 months before our wedding date and the girl who helped us was very nice (I wish I knew her name). She even pulled out the colors of the jacket, vest and tie that we wanted. She even pulled out the cuff links and showed us how they work. We decided last minute we wanted to add a pocket silk which she gladly was able to add on and she even showed us several ways to fold it. A second woman took over who started entering our information into the computer. She was also very nice. They explained everything very thoroughly.

A few days later I tried to log into the Group Manager tool on their website and I was unable to log in. I called the store to ask them why and the guy who answered the phone you could tell just wanted to get me off the phone. He at first told me they didnt even have an email address on file (which doesnt make sense because I gave them one). When he put it in, I was still not able to logon, he told me to try again tomorrow and call back if it was still not working. I waited another few days and was able to login, only to find there were several errors with the order. There were 3 items missing (socks, the cuff links and the pocket silk) and there were 2 spelling errors on our bridal party names (including my husband) as well as 1 groomsman was missing. I called again to have these errors fixed and of course when I called their computers were down. The woman told me I would tell you to call corporate to fix it but I dont know how. So I called back the next day, a gentleman took all the information down and said he would fix it. I logged back in the next day and saw that only 2 of the 3 items were added, and the missing groomsman was added but there were still 2 spelling errors and 1 item missing.

I had 1 groomsman get fitted at a store near him and they were quite rude to him. When he told them what size he was, they asked are you sure, you look more like an x. (Implying he was actually bigger than he is??) He also said they just took his measurements and didnt show him any of the items or tell him any of the items he just ordered.

I did get a coupon in the mail for my father to get a discount which was nice although my dad had difficulties picking up his tux. He wanted to pick it up 4 days before the wedding because he was going to be leaving town to arrive for the wedding and they tried telling him he had to pick it up 2 days before. Finally he complained enough that they said it was fine.

I also had one groomsman get an email saying his tux was ready for pickup but at a store that was more than an hour away from him. This wasnt the store he tried on the tux at or even told them to deliver to. So thankfully he called the store and they still had enough time before the wedding to re-order another and have it sent to the right store.

Overall the tuxes fit were a bit big, something I wasnt used to. The pants seemed very baggy in the butt area and the shirts seemed very baggy in the arms. The guy told me that was just how they all were. I also got several comments on how shiny and silly the rental shoes looked but honestly on the day of the wedding, I didnt even notice the shoes or the baggy fit of the tux. Everyone ended up looking great. They do require you to return the tuxes the very next day or you get charged but thankfully we had a groomsman who was able to collect all tuxes and drop them off in time.

Id use them again only because of the convenience and because they are partnered with Davids Bridal which is where I got my dress and my bridesmaids dresses so I knew the colors would be an exact match. They also have stores everywhere which was helpful since we had so many of our bridal party from out of town.
