We booked Ruben for our wedding which is later this year but we had our engagement shoot and I couldn’t wait to give him a good review. He was very kind and personable. My fiancé is pretty introverted and he made him feel comfortable right away. I always thought my pics would look awkward but he told us to act natural and he would do the work. I had a mountain shoot and the pictures are beautiful!! Thank you Ruben! Can’t wait for you to capture my big day!

Ruben was a fantastic photographer for our wedding day! We had an interracial (Brown and Asian) wedding, and he did a terrific job being accommodating and capturing our special day with candid and portrait photos. He was very professional, responsive, and worked around our needs to make us comfortable and produce terrific pictures!

Ruben's artistic eye helped create the magic we expected for our daughter's Quincenera. He helped us capture some of the most important moments and some we never expected to see. I had the pleasure of working with Ruben on our surprise proposal. He was very professional and helped me find the perfect location and time for the sunset. He made me feel comfortable even though I was stressed out, and he also provided a videographer who filmed the whole proposal. He was very professional and edited many pictures by the next day. Soon after we received all the pictures and they came out beautiful. Highly recommend him for any occasion!

Ruben was an amazing photographer to work with. He was easy going and professional, which is great for what can be a stressful day. He documented our whole destination wedding weekend in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico with so much care and attention from detail shots, to portraits, and even amazing drone shots! We’re so happy to have his beautiful pictures to remember our special day and time with our family and friends.

Ruben had terrible communication and red flags from soon after signing the contract, but unfortunately it was already finalized. He would go days or weeks without responding to messages and claim he didn't see them. I made the mistake of hiring him for another small job prior to our wedding, I figured it would be easier than finding another photographer, I was wrong. He had to make a last minute schedule change that messed up that shoot. The bad experiences continued well past our wedding. He informed me 3 days before our wedding that the 2nd photographer we paid for was unavailable, and he would refund me for the extra paid for that. Our wedding was 2 months ago and he still has not refunded it, and is now ignoring ALL messages to him. He also has not delivered on all items in our wedding package. He has scammed us out of money, and we are now looking into legal action. Please save yourself the headache and avoid this man!!!

We are extremely disappointed and frustrated with our experience with Ruben/MRTNZ photography. We had red flags as soon as he was paid in full but we kept giving him the benefit of the doubt hoping we were wrong. We have yet to receive what we purchased in our wedding photography package and have accepted that we probably never will because Ruben does not respond. We are absolutely feeling scammed and regret not going with a photographer with more reviews and more professionalism.

I decided to book with Ruben because when he showed me his sample wedding video, I enjoyed it and liked it. But when I received my wedding video over 2 months later, it was very amateur. So he said he would redo it. My wedding was in November and it is now April and I haven’t received a video. Very unprofessional.
