Mount Palomar Winery is an elegant vineyard wedding venue located in Temecula, California. Situated on more than 315 acres of land, this space offers couples and their loved ones the best wine country has to offer. Incredible views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards are a beautiful backdrop for unforgettable ceremonies and receptions, as well as stunning wedding photos. These vineyards were first opened in 1969 by John H. Poole and today, they are operated by his son Peter.
Facilities and Capacity
At Mount Palomar Winery, couples have their choice of four different event spaces, with a maximum capacity of 300 guests. The largest space, the Tasting Room Level Plaza is an elegant setting for grand gatherings in the fresh air. The Bar Covered Patio Space offers an added level of protection from the hot California sun while still keeping the vineyards as a backdrop. Various other outdoor sites are available for more intimate gatherings. Indoors, the winery offers the Barrel Room and the Tasting Room. The largest of these two rooms, the Barrel Room, can comfortably accommodate up to 150. Here, casks of wine add a unique touch to the decor. The couple is granted access to a stylish get-ready room to use before starting the day. The vineyard has plenty of on-site parking available for those who drive to your celebration. There is also nearby overnight accommodation for out-of-town guests.
Hosting just one wedding per day, Mount Palomar Winery is committed to helping to-be-weds have the best day possible. They offer customizable packages to help couples tailor the winery's services to their unique needs. The vineyard's team is happy to set up your chosen event space, giving you more time to spend with your loved ones before beginning celebrations. They can also look after cleaning up when the festivities have wound down. Catering is available from the in-house team, whether you want hors d'oeuvres, a buffet, or plated service. Our wedding at Mount Palomar Winery was better than we could have ever imagined!
When we got engaged, we knew we wanted to get married at a winery in Temecula. We hadn’t been to Mount Palomar previously, but based on the reviews and photos, we scheduled an appointment there and at one other place. From the very beginning, it was clear that Mount Palomar was the winner. After our tour, we agreed that there was no reason to look anywhere else. The ceremony and reception sites are breathtaking, and are situated away from the public area of the winery. This is very important if you don’t want the general public wandering in on your wedding day or taking pictures. Mount Palomar also hosts just one wedding per day, so you know you will receive all of their attention.
Sandy was our wedding guru and venue coordinator from the day of our tour through our wedding day, and we couldn’t have done it without her! She is very patient and always quick to answer questions and handle special requests. At first we were considering hiring an outside wedding coordinator to handle the planning throughout the months before and the day-of details, but Sandy convinced us that this added expense was not necessary. She was right! If you already have a vision and are planning on selecting and meeting with vendors yourself, Mount Palomar handles the rest. Sandy provided us with a list of trusted vendors, and we chose many of them from this list. This is certainly the way to go if you want excellent professionals familiar with the venue and the staff.
Catering is part of the package pricing at Mount Palomar and is handled by Temecula Catering. There are several options, including a buffet, plated choice or dual plated. The food tasting was set up directly by Sandy. We were a little nervous at first, because we didn’t have a choice if we didn’t like the food. However, everything at the tasting was very good and it was hard to narrow down our selections.
Throughout the months preceding the wedding, we were in regular contact with Sandy who coordinated with all our vendors, worked with us on the layout and details of the ceremony and reception, and helped us create a timeline. Sandy arranged an in-person meeting and walk through of the site, about a month before the wedding, to ensure that everything was in order. Mount Palomar also provides a separate day-of coordinator, and we worked with Kimberly. She was amazing too! Kimberly ran our rehearsal the day before our wedding and made sure that everyone was comfortable with the details of the ceremony. She even pinned on the groom’s and groomsmen’s boutonnieres as none of them knew how to do it…..she’s a lifesaver! The most important part was that on the day of the wedding, we didn’t have to worry about anything. Our wedding day went so smoothly, with none of the glitches you often hear about. The weather in early October was beautiful, the venue was set up perfectly to our specifications, the entire day ran on schedule, and the food and wine were great. We received numerous comments from our guests that it was the best wedding they had ever attended and the most gorgeous wedding venue.
Our wedding day was an amazing experience that we will never forgot. We cannot thank Sandy, Kimberly and the staff at Mount Palomar enough for making our wedding dreams come true.

Lauren is such a sweetheart and she will go out of her way to ensure that each client feels appreciated and special. It is truly a pleasure to work with her and all her clients. Mount Palomar Winery, is one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL VENUES, in the Temecula Wine Country. Not only is the venue gorgeous but the staff is so professional! Lauren, Sandy, and Kimberly are so organized and friendly. They realize how important the wedding day is and strive for perfection. My team gets so excited when they see that we have a wedding at MPW, because they know it is going to be a stress free day and a breath taking work environment for the day! It's always a pleasure to DJ a wedding at Mount Palomar. The grounds are just beautiful and always make for a fantastic Wedding. I can't say enough about the staff.
