I was lucky enough to work with two Modern Trousseau locations and consultants when purchasing my wedding dress. Kelly at the Georgetown, DC location, and Jen in Nashville. I can’t say enough wonderful things about either of these ladies or my MT experience.

When I walked into MT Georgetown in March, I had fairly low expectations. I’d had two lengthy but disappointing appointments elsewhere, and was no closer to finding THE dress. But the instant I stepped into the first gown at Modern Trousseau, it felt different. No, that one wasn’t the one either, but it was the first one that put a smile on my face. Beautifully lined, obviously well-made, and unique in the array of seemingly identical itchy polyester numbers I’d seen (elsewhere) so far.

Kelly bent over backward to ensure every detail was exactly as I wanted it. When I took delivery in Nashville Jen and DeNeal—the immensely talented seamstress who handles their alterations—patiently took me through the rest of my fitting appointments.

I ultimately chose a dress that felt like me on my very best day—and three weeks ago, that’s precisely how I felt wearing it. Thank you, Kelly, Jen, and DeNeal!!

Since I can remember I always had a specific vision for my wedding dress. I knew down to the smallest detail what I wanted. I started my dress shopping experience as most other brides going from store to store and trying on different dresses. There were a couple I found and loved but constantly found there was a detail I had to sacrifice. The perfect dress just did not exist already. This is where Modern Trousseau came in!! My experience with them first started after I nearly found the dress at a previous salon. That dress was a huge inspiration for my final design. However as much as I loved many details of that dress it still missed a handful of details I wanted but could not get. So I decided not to get the dress and move on to my next appt at Modern Trousseau. Within minutes of being there I knew working with these women is what I needed/wanted. I showed them the previous dress, told them what I loved, what I wanted to change and within seconds I could see the creativity brewing. It was such a flawless process. The girls starting pulling things from the left/right to help me visualize my custom build dress come alive. They were so patient and so in tune with detail. The best part, my mother!! She is truly not the easiest personality to deal with. It took ALOT of convincing to get her on board with this process because she does not trust easily and did not think this was a smart decision. The women here were sooo patient with her and worked so diligently with her to allow her to come around when she was ready. They even helped calm me down as my mother and I argued haha! Because of how intricate the details of my dress were and how picky I am (whoops) I worked directly with Callie (the designer) and Agnes (her seamstress). They are seriously the two most amazing/pleasant/welcoming/patient/insightful/helpful (the adjectives could go on forever) pair of women I have ever met. They made this entire process the easiest process I could have ever imagined. I met with them twice. And both times we went through every single detail, what I wanted, what I felt, what they recommended, etc. Every time I left I felt confident in my decision and in the process. Alot of my friends thought I was crazy for building a dress from scratch but I promise you, I would recommend it 298934208934 times over again especially if it means working with these ladies again. I would not have been as calm or confident about this process without the help of Jen at the Nashville store and especially without Callie or Agnes. I was able to find my dream dress and make it to everything I ever imagine without sacrificing a single detail. As a side note: some may run at the idea of designing their own dress because it sounds like it would cost an arm and a leg. This stores rates are SUPER reasonable. Certainly not the rates you hear about on say yes to the dress hahah! To sum this up: If you want your dream dress without sacrificing any details I would highly recommend this shop! If you think you're too controlling, or untrusting of the process, give these ladies a shot..if they can make my mom not only grow to love them but cry when she saw the final product, they can change anyones hesitations. I would go through this process a billion times again with these ladies. 5 stars is just not enough stars for them!! I don't think I have ever written a review this long..but these ladies deserve it!

I cannot say enough about this team!! They helped me find my exact vision for my dress and were constantly as excited as I was for every fitting. They should be a stop on your wedding dress journey!

There are not enough words to describe my amazing experience with Modern Trousseau. I had a very long 2+ year engagement, but of course went dress shopping right away. I feel in love with one of their gowns, but wasn't ready to pull the trigger right away. Long story short, Modern Trousseau decided to discontinue the gown, but Madison (bless her) knew how in love I was with the dress and immediately called me to let me know the news. She was able to pull some strings, call the designer and ensured I could be the final bride to wear the Petal gown. In that instant, I knew Madison and Modern Trousseau would bend over backwards to make their brides happy and they 100% delivered. Not only was I able to customize every aspect of the dress, but the designer even made me a custom veil! I had plenty of faith in them knowing what would look best for the veil, so I let them run with it, and it turned out beautifully. This shop's attention to details, care for the brides and prompt responses were aspects of my wedding that made my experience amazing. Anyone I tell about Modern Trousseau also falls in love and I've been able to refer two of my friends and they've found their gowns there too! I can't sing the praises of Modern Trousseau and Madison enough! From my initial appointment to the day I picked up my dress, I felt like I was in a fairy tale. I had an exact vision of what I wanted mey dress to look like and only 4 months to make it happen, and Modern Trousseau literally brought every detail of my dream dress to life. I picked my dress with the mindset that it would be a family heirloom, and I hope the future women in my family agree! My favorite touches were the big bow I picked out for the back of my dress and the special monogram that was sewn inside the bodice especially for me. Callie, the designer, even sends a personal sketch of your dress! I will cherish this experience forever.

I absolutely adored my dress from Modern Trousseau! I had looked at a few bridal stores, and I wasn't really liking anything too much. Then I randomly went here with my mom and it was the best! The shop alone is gorgeous! And Madison is so so great to work with! I got to combine 3 different dresses to make the perfect dress for me, and I am still so in love! I felt like an actual princess on my wedding day!

I'm from New York but spend a lot of time in Nashville and somehow had never seen this store! A few months after getting engaged, I was in town visiting when my mom and I passed by the window front. I had not yet started looking for dresses since my wedding was a year and a half away but the gowns looked so beautiful I felt like I needed to stop in especially given I was having a country wedding out on Long Island. We made an appointment and working with the team at Modern Trousseau from start to finish was simply a dream. I worked closely with Madison and she was so sweet and accommodating throughout the whole process. The store itself is a gem in the middle of Nashville. It's so elegant and beautifully set up and their 'one bride at a time' policy ensures a truly custom and intimate experience. I ended up falling in love with the Noa gown. Although all of their dresses are customizable (a huge perk for the bride that wants something really unique) there was not one thing I wanted to change. I was a little nervous selecting my gown so far in advanced of the wedding (and from another state!) but as time passed and I returned for fittings, every time I put on that gown, I fell more in love. There is not another dress I would have wanted for my special day. I would highly recommend MT to any bride!

If you're looking for a wedding dress, Modern Trousseau is the only stop you'll need to make. And it's not just because of their beautiful dresses. As soon as we walked in the door, we were made to feel so special, which was a big difference from the other bridal stores we visited earlier that day. The door was locked behind us and our sales associate, Madison, provided the best service imaginable. We had the whole store to ourselves! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thanks for making my experience so memorable.

Modern Trousseau is hands down the best place to shop for your wedding dress.. Madison provided exceptional service and her patience is unmatched! We went to other Shops, but none could compare to the service and experience that we had here. Thank you Madison for making my Daughter feel so very special.. If possible, she is now even more excited about her Big Day!

Modern Trousseau is a Beautiful Bridal Shopping experience. We went to Modern Trousseau and found the perfect wedding gown for my daughter's wedding. It was a custom gown, with custom lace and it turn out absolutely gorgeous. Madison and Heather are a pleasure to work with and they did everything to make sure we were happy and satisfied. Modern Trousseau has a wide range of styles to pick from and the material is of the highest quality. My daughter looked like a dream on her big day.
