I was lucky enough to work with two Modern Trousseau locations and consultants when purchasing my wedding dress. Kelly at the Georgetown, DC location, and Jen in Nashville. I can’t say enough wonderful things about either of these ladies or my MT experience.

When I walked into MT Georgetown in March, I had fairly low expectations. I’d had two lengthy but disappointing appointments elsewhere, and was no closer to finding THE dress. But the instant I stepped into the first gown at Modern Trousseau, it felt different. No, that one wasn’t the one either, but it was the first one that put a smile on my face. Beautifully lined, obviously well-made, and unique in the array of seemingly identical itchy polyester numbers I’d seen (elsewhere) so far.

Kelly bent over backward to ensure every detail was exactly as I wanted it. When I took delivery in Nashville Jen and DeNeal—the immensely talented seamstress who handles their alterations—patiently took me through the rest of my fitting appointments.

I ultimately chose a dress that felt like me on my very best day—and three weeks ago, that’s precisely how I felt wearing it. Thank you, Kelly, Jen, and DeNeal!!

Since I can remember I always had a specific vision for my wedding dress. I knew down to the smallest detail what I wanted. I started my dress shopping experience as most other brides going from store to store and trying on different dresses. There were a couple I found and loved but constantly found there was a detail I had to sacrifice. The perfect dress just did not exist already. This is where Modern Trousseau came in!! My experience with them first started after I nearly found the dress at a previous salon. That dress was a huge inspiration for my final design. However as much as I loved many details of that dress it still missed a handful of details I wanted but could not get. So I decided not to get the dress and move on to my next appt at Modern Trousseau. Within minutes of being there I knew working with these women is what I needed/wanted. I showed them the previous dress, told them what I loved, what I wanted to change and within seconds I could see the creativity brewing. It was such a flawless process. The girls starting pulling things from the left/right to help me visualize my custom build dress come alive. They were so patient and so in tune with detail. The best part, my mother!! She is truly not the easiest personality to deal with. It took ALOT of convincing to get her on board with this process because she does not trust easily and did not think this was a smart decision. The women here were sooo patient with her and worked so diligently with her to allow her to come around when she was ready. They even helped calm me down as my mother and I argued haha! Because of how intricate the details of my dress were and how picky I am (whoops) I worked directly with Callie (the designer) and Agnes (her seamstress). They are seriously the two most amazing/pleasant/welcoming/patient/insightful/helpful (the adjectives could go on forever) pair of women I have ever met. They made this entire process the easiest process I could have ever imagined. I met with them twice. And both times we went through every single detail, what I wanted, what I felt, what they recommended, etc. Every time I left I felt confident in my decision and in the process. Alot of my friends thought I was crazy for building a dress from scratch but I promise you, I would recommend it 298934208934 times over again especially if it means working with these ladies again. I would not have been as calm or confident about this process without the help of Jen at the Nashville store and especially without Callie or Agnes. I was able to find my dream dress and make it to everything I ever imagine without sacrificing a single detail. As a side note: some may run at the idea of designing their own dress because it sounds like it would cost an arm and a leg. This stores rates are SUPER reasonable. Certainly not the rates you hear about on say yes to the dress hahah! To sum this up: If you want your dream dress without sacrificing any details I would highly recommend this shop! If you think you're too controlling, or untrusting of the process, give these ladies a shot..if they can make my mom not only grow to love them but cry when she saw the final product, they can change anyones hesitations. I would go through this process a billion times again with these ladies. 5 stars is just not enough stars for them!! I don't think I have ever written a review this long..but these ladies deserve it!

I cannot say enough about this team!! They helped me find my exact vision for my dress and were constantly as excited as I was for every fitting. They should be a stop on your wedding dress journey!
