Middle of the Island absolutely lived up to their reputation and was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding reception.

As Wilmington locals, we had heard for years that Middle of the Island was one of the area's premier caterers, and after working with them ourselves, we completely understand why they have earned such an outstanding reputation.

The process was incredibly easy from start to finish. We attended a tasting at their location and were immediately impressed by both the quality of the food and the professionalism of the team. Everything we sampled was delicious, and the tasting made it easy to narrow down our selections for the reception.

One thing that initially surprised us was that they do not use traditional contracts or deposits. At first, that felt a little unusual simply because it differs from how many wedding vendors operate. However, we quickly learned that this is their standard business practice, and once we were on their schedule, everything was handled smoothly and professionally. They communicated clearly, answered our questions, and gave us complete confidence that our reception was in good hands.

For our reception, we selected a buffet featuring several of their wedding favorites, and the food was outstanding. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, beautifully prepared, and exactly what we hoped for.

One of the biggest guest favorites was the seafood pasta. It was absolutely incredible and disappeared so quickly that there weren't any leftovers. Guests were still talking about it after the wedding and making trips back to the buffet for second helpings.

Another standout was the corn hash, which was packed with flavor and quickly became one of our personal favorites. And the roast beef was exceptional—so much so that my husband is still talking about how delicious it was weeks after the wedding.

What impressed us most was that the quality never felt like "wedding food." Every dish tasted like something you would order at a great restaurant. The food was hot, fresh, and served at exactly the right temperature. Our guests genuinely enjoyed the meal, and it showed. We watched people return for seconds throughout the evening, which is always a great sign when you're hosting a wedding.

The catering staff was fantastic. They were professional, friendly, organized, and efficient. They arrived on time, handled setup seamlessly, kept everything looking beautiful throughout service, and worked hard to ensure our guests had a wonderful experience. Their professionalism allowed us to enjoy our reception without worrying about any of the logistics.

Middle of the Island is absolutely the catering service you want for your wedding! They came to us at Riverview Restaurant and we picked the Italian Style buffet and Ice Cream Bar which were all a hit. We especially want to shout out the team that night for providing the BEST care for guests. We had so many of our family members personally reaching out to exclaim how much they LOVED the service.

Middle of the Island Catering catered my wedding in May, and nine months later people are still talking about how incredible the food was. I am also a proud procrastinator apparently, because I have been raving about them nonstop and somehow never left a review until now. Laying in bed thinking about their food again made me realize I needed to fix that immediately.

From the very beginning, CM and his staff were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were straightforward, professional, and made the entire process feel easy and stress free. Communication was clear, service was excellent, and they delivered exactly what they promised. They even catered to my vegan guest.

The food itself was phenomenal. After our taste testing in April, I was genuinely excited about the reception because I just knew our guests were going to go crazy over the food. And they did. People still tell me it was some the best wedding food they have ever had.

And let me say this. As someone who does not even like fried chicken, their fried chicken was the best I have ever had in my life. My dad even mentioned them in his speech, which says a lot because he is a hard judge. That alone tells you how special their food was.

Not only was the food outstanding, but their pricing was the most reasonable we found, and somehow still the best quality. My family has even talked about planning another event in North Carolina just so we can have their food again.

If you are considering Middle of the Island Catering, do it. They are professional, affordable, and truly exceptional. Btw, we got the southern and even mix and matched from other menus.

I highly recommend booking Middle of the Island! So easy to work with, which made the planning process stress free. During our wedding tasting we were able to try a TON of food. He even made custom items for our wedding menu, which made it unique to us and our guest.

I cannot recommend MOI more! It was a good feeling when we booked MOI and everyone we told was so excited to eat the food. Normally wedding food is just average, but I can honestly say I will be craving it for a while. Our tasting was free and absolutely delicious and the food the day of was just as delicious which I didn't think would be possible with a buffet. They were so easy to work with and even helped us come up with a late night snack to have and let me pick whatever I wanted. The price was very very reasonable for a buffet and a couple of passed around appetizers as well. I would use them again and again if I could.

MOI is THE best catering possible! They were very responsive to every question I asked during the planning process and leading up to the wedding. The food was AMAZING. So many quests commented that it was the best catering food they had ever had. They went out of their way to be helpful, even walking through the buffet line with my mom, who had her arm in a sling, and filling her plate for her. They had plates of appetizers waiting for the bride and groom and served them dinner at their table. The servers were very helpful from set-up to take down. I can't say enough good things about MOI. You can't go wrong hiring them for your big day!
