Middle of The Island is Phenomenal!!!
I cannot recommend CM and Middle of the Island catering enough—our food was truly one of the highlights of the entire wedding.
From the start, CM was so easy to work with and incredibly responsive, which made such a difference throughout the planning process.
The food itself was incredible. We had so many guests come up to us throughout the night saying it was some of the best wedding food they’ve ever had—which says a lot. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly executed. The cocktail hour apps were a huge hit, and they handled our buffet beautifully—keeping everything stocked, organized, and running smoothly the entire night. They were also great about communicating allergy information and making guests feel comfortable.
Beyond the food, the service was just as amazing. Their team was professional, attentive, and kept everything running so seamlessly. From cocktail hour to dinner service, everything flowed on time, which made such a difference in the overall experience.
They truly played a huge part in making our day feel so special, and I’m so grateful we chose them. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. I would recommend Middle of the Island Catering to anyone!!

Amazing Food & Service
We couldn't have asked for a better catering experience for my daughter's wedding. From start to finish, CM and his team were professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to making the day special.
The buffet selection was outstanding - beautifully presented, delicious, and enjoyed by all. We received many compliments on both the quality and variety of the food offered.
The staff was professional, organized, and attentive to all our needs. From waitstaff to bartenders, the service was exceptional.
From the moment we booked, CM (owner) was more than cooperative, flexible and professional! My calls and emails were responded too more often than not within an hour! CM is an old-school small business owner who values your business and honors his word.
I highly recommend Middle of the Island for your catering needs!

Middle of the Island Catering catered my wedding in May, and nine months later people are still talking about how incredible the food was. I am also a proud procrastinator apparently, because I have been raving about them nonstop and somehow never left a review until now. Laying in bed thinking about their food again made me realize I needed to fix that immediately.
From the very beginning, CM and his staff were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were straightforward, professional, and made the entire process feel easy and stress free. Communication was clear, service was excellent, and they delivered exactly what they promised. They even catered to my vegan guest.
The food itself was phenomenal. After our taste testing in April, I was genuinely excited about the reception because I just knew our guests were going to go crazy over the food. And they did. People still tell me it was some the best wedding food they have ever had.
And let me say this. As someone who does not even like fried chicken, their fried chicken was the best I have ever had in my life. My dad even mentioned them in his speech, which says a lot because he is a hard judge. That alone tells you how special their food was.
Not only was the food outstanding, but their pricing was the most reasonable we found, and somehow still the best quality. My family has even talked about planning another event in North Carolina just so we can have their food again.
If you are considering Middle of the Island Catering, do it. They are professional, affordable, and truly exceptional. Btw, we got the southern and even mix and matched from other menus.

I highly recommend booking Middle of the Island! So easy to work with, which made the planning process stress free. During our wedding tasting we were able to try a TON of food. He even made custom items for our wedding menu, which made it unique to us and our guest.

I cannot recommend MOI more! It was a good feeling when we booked MOI and everyone we told was so excited to eat the food. Normally wedding food is just average, but I can honestly say I will be craving it for a while. Our tasting was free and absolutely delicious and the food the day of was just as delicious which I didn't think would be possible with a buffet. They were so easy to work with and even helped us come up with a late night snack to have and let me pick whatever I wanted. The price was very very reasonable for a buffet and a couple of passed around appetizers as well. I would use them again and again if I could.

MOI is THE best catering possible! They were very responsive to every question I asked during the planning process and leading up to the wedding. The food was AMAZING. So many quests commented that it was the best catering food they had ever had. They went out of their way to be helpful, even walking through the buffet line with my mom, who had her arm in a sling, and filling her plate for her. They had plates of appetizers waiting for the bride and groom and served them dinner at their table. The servers were very helpful from set-up to take down. I can't say enough good things about MOI. You can't go wrong hiring them for your big day!

BEST wedding dinner
We just got married this weekend, 12/7/24 and MOI catered for us. We cannot say enough how amazing everything was. From the moment we had the tasting, we knew we were in good hands. The staff, food, and service was exceptional and our guests reminded us all night how outstanding all of the food was! When choosing a caterer, our main concern is that we didn’t want anybody leaving hungry and I can confidently say that every belly was pleased. We got tons of leftovers to bring home as well as our desserts packaged so nicely. I truly wish we could experience it all over again! If you are considering MOI for your wedding/event, PLEASE do not hesitate. You will not be disappointed.

"Feels like Southern Cookin' Thanksgiving!"
The food was an absolute hit! We had a "coastal elevated" wedding that was elegant and we did buffet style comfort food that everyone would love. I was worried that my food choice wouldn't be formal enough but it was PERFECT. We chose the Everyone's Favorite buffet and had friend chicken, friend shrimp, potato and cheese casserole, corn on the cobb, Mac n' cheese, squash casserole, green beans, slaw, banana pudding and strawberry salad. For cocktail hour we did bbq sliders and tomato, mozzarella and basil. And it was awesome.
I remember looking around and seeing our guests with plates that were piled high! We were given to-go boxes with utensils, desserts and waters and we devoured them after the wedding. It was an incredible experience with CM and his staff all around. I 100% recommend MOI for ANY catering. I'd include more photos but everything was eaten so quickly!

We loved MOI!
Our wedding planner, Jennifer, highly recommended Middle of the Island! Throughout the process, they were so flexible with us. We had the best time at our food tasting and found the perfect menu for us! We chose the grilled cheese + tomato soup and the bacon-wrapped scallops for our appetizers, and the Island Variety Buffett with Salmon for our wedding!
All of our guests LOVED the food and we got leftovers to take home! The servers were great and we were so thankful for their help with pre-bussing tables and keeping the venue clean. No one left the venue hungry and we have received so many compliments about MOI's service and food!

Can’t say enough good things!
I can not say enough good things about our catering for our wedding! My brother in law will be using at his wedding now in may. Everyone in attendance raved about how amazing their dinner was. We did chicken Marsala, marinated pork medallions and prime rib. Everything was so good, it was hard to choose. We got lots of leftovers too and we were able to eat on it for a few days after and even with reheating, we couldn’t believe how tender and flavorful all the meat was. Sooo good!

Used MOI for rehearsal got the Mexican Fiesta did not disappoint the crowd and the staff was wonderful!! Next the Wedding - fabulous food got the Wedding Favorite didn’t not disappoint with 2 entrees 5 sides and salads everyone had a full belly and the the staff again did not disappoint ❤️and did not run out of food. Delicious & Exactly What We Needed!
MOI was a perfect choice for our wedding. The process of trying the food, booking and choosing our menu was super easy. It was very casual which stressed me out, but I ended up really appreciating it because I didn't have to think about it much. Pricing is super transparent. You can add it up yourself and know exactly what your cost will be. All of our guests had positive reviews for the food & loved how many options we had (SO MANY for such a good price). The catering staff were attentive, made us our plates so we didn't have to and checked in on us often to make sure we were good. We also have family members with food allergies and they were really helpful to make sure our meals were nut free (made accommodations on the menu items) and also made our best man a different meal to make sure it was free of his allergens. 10/10 would recommend, I know understand why they are the highest rated in Wilmington!

The wedding caterer you NEED to hire!!
FANTASTIC choice for our wedding catering. Especially if you are looking for quality, abundant food at a good price- MOI is the one! CM Rogers was great and easy to get ahold of, even in the midst of busy wedding season. We had them do an Italian buffet for dinner and a fruit/cheese display for cocktail hour. The servers and staff were wonderful and SO attentive, they poured our champagne and cut the cake, and provided plasticware as part of our package! They even brought my new husband and me a plate from the buffet station so we didn’t have to go through the line. Recommend!

We used middle of the island to cater our wedding buffet. CM was so easy and pleasant to work with. He had us over for a tasting before the wedding and everything tasted amazing. He allowed us to mix and match the different courses and sides. Payment was simple and painless. The food was great on the day of the wedding and we were allowed to take home the leftovers. Working with cm is such an easy process and you can’t beat his prices for the high quality food with much variety. We would recommend him to anyone!

CM is the manager,
He took really good care of us the food was amazing they even let the guest take food boxes home. They made sure our food was served hot and fresh and waiting on us and then even packed us up a box for the next day wonderful. A friend of mine had MOI as their caterer so I already knew I was getting something amazing when we hired them for our wedding. Everything from start to finish was seamless. They are very quick to respond and so easy to work with. During the reception the staff made sure my husband and I had full plates and everything we needed. We got the cheese and fruit display for cocktail hour and the Wedding Favorite Buffet for dinner. Every one of our guests raved about how good the food was! The price point is very reasonable and there are so many different menus and budgets to work with. I got our dessert from Publix but they still set up and made our dessert bar beautiful. Hire them for an effortless and delicious day!!

Amazing food!
We hired MOI for our rehearsal dinner and our wedding day. The food was amazing!! Our wedding was early so our main meal was at 3:15. Therefore we also had a drop off meal of burgers and hot dogs at 7 pm. They are kind and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Best catered food I have ever had at a wedding!!!!! Attended a wedding catered by them on 10-09-21 and everything was excellent!!!! Loved the fried chicken, Mac and cheese, squash casserole, mashed potatoes and spinach salad with strawberries!!!!! We talked to the bride and groom of that wedding and they had only great things to say about CM and his team. They were RIGHT! CM was the easiest person ever to work with and was so flexible with all of our food choices and changes we wanted to make to certain menu options. He was always prompt to call us if we had questions and never missed an email response or phone message. We got married almost three weeks ago and we are still hearing from our guests how good the food was. Thank you CM and Middle of the Island for making our day so special. We would 100% recommend this business to anyone looking for a caterer!!!

AMAZING catering service!
We recently moved to Wilmington, NC and got married. We did not know a whole lot about local vendors, but when asking around everybody mentioned Middle of the Island being the best. We used them for both rehearsal and the wedding and I just have to say they are THE BEST! The staff is excellent, they are some of the hardest workers you can meet, the owner loves what he does and works with his clients so well, and the food is phenomenal. For rehearsal we did the "Hawaiian Buffet" the food was so fresh, served hot, and tasted delicious. The wedding we chose the popular "Wedding Buffet" and we had more than plenty of options for all types at the wedding. I will always use Middle of the Island for any large event, and will definitely recommend it to anybody.

Once we started planning our wedding, I knew I wanted to use MOI. They have been around a long time & we already knew the food was delicious. Long story short MOI saved the day with their flexibility and excellent food when we had to postpone our wedding due to covid and also move the reception. MOI has been around as long as I can remember and has been at almost every wedding I have ever been to in the Wilmington area. My husband and I used MOI at our wedding on 01/31/21 at Wrightsville Manor and they did a fantastic job! The food was amazing (as always) and the severs were very happy and attentive.

We hired MOI for our rehearsal dinner and wedding and wow - we were SO impressed. We had the Steakhouse Classic on Friday night and the Wedding Favorite on Saturday. People say brides don’t have a chance to eat.. oh trust me there was no way I wasn’t eating with these meals in front of me! We heard numerous compliments on how delicious the food was from our guests. One of my favorite parts was having a few of the same staff members help out both nights- they were awesome!!! Food your guests won't stop talking about!
We were recommended MOI through our wedding planner and couldn't have been happier. Not only were they affordable, but the food was incredible, we were so excited after our taste test! CM and his team were incredible to work with and everything went so smoothly, as we used their bartending services too! We did the buffet and upgraded for the mash potato bar and it was a hit. Cocktail hour food had the guests excited for dinner - highly recommend the shrimp and grits and tomato soup and grill cheese shooters, we have friends STILL talking about cocktail hour!
For dinner, service moved quickly and we had so many compliments about it being some of the best wedding food people have had. We were so happy! Our bellies were plenty full and the staff took care of us, making sure we ate enough which was so sweet. You can't go wrong with their selection, service and food! We also rented their china packet which helped take care of one less rental. Middle of the Island is an absolute must book!

Middle of the Island Caterers are top-notch! My daughter was married on August 2, 2020 at Wrightsville Manor and MOI was our caterer and from the very first phone call to the final clean-up they were fantastic! So so easy to deal with that I was a little nervous at first. They are so good at what they do that everything runs so smoothly. The guests constantly raced about the food. The selection was great. We had the Wedding Favorite which had something for every different taste. The chicken, shrimp pasta salad and the strawberry spinach salad were the biggest hits! The staff were very professional and very friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire MOI again for any future event! Excellent in every aspect!

The food was AMAZING! My husband and I never went to taste test the food and just went off of word of mouth when it came to picking a caterer. Our wedding was at The Barn at Rock Creek and the Barn staff couldn't say enough good things about MOI so we knew they had to be good! We chose the southern buffet and our guests (and us) LOVED it! The pork tenderloin and marinated chicken was delicious. Ordering the food was one of the easiest processes of our whole wedding experience. We called in December to book our wedding date and were told that they would contact us again about 2 weeks before the wedding to ask us what we wanted food-wise. We were amazed at how easy setting up catering with MOI was! 100% would recommend Middle of the Island!

The absolute BEST catering company
I was super frustrated trying to find a local catering company for our wedding. Every place I contacted was unresponsive or well over the budget we set. The manager of our venue recommended MOI and it was one of best decisions we made with regard to wedding planning. Not only is every single thing on their menu delicious, but they are so reasonably priced and professional, especially considering all of the services they provide. The wait staff was excellent, they provided cake cutting, the boxed up all leftovers - we didn't have to stress about anything food-related. After securing the date I was initially nervous about them not taking a deposit but that's just their business practice. Every single time I contacted CM with a question, he was quick to respond. We're about 2 hours from where MOI is located but it mattered not. We were happy to pay the travel charge because NO ONE compared to the quantity and quality of food, service, affordability, and level of professionalism of this company. If they have your date available, book them! Thank you, CM and MOI staff!

We don’t even know where to start…CM and his team at Middle of the Island are beyond incredible and an absolute pleasure to work with. CM makes it so easy, prices are more than fair, and he doesn’t even require a deposit (as of mid-2019). He offered his suggestions and guidance with his wealth of knowledge and experience, and he completely delivered. He worked with us to create a delicious menu and plan for family-style service. The MOI staff was professional, responsive, and kind! We rented our china from MOI for a nominal fee and it looked great! People are still raving about our food and we got married two months ago! Food was one of the most important things to us for the wedding, and wow did Middle of the Island crush it! The wedding was a week ago, and we are STILL receiving compliments on the food. During cocktail hour, we had the chicken and waffles, shrimp cocktail shooters and the asiago asparagus, and everything was amazing. The chicken and waffles were both a hit and adorable, with a little rose detail at the end of each tooth pick. We had the grilled salmon with dill, creamy balsamic chicken and roasted vegetable parmesan cream penne pasta, and everything was incredibly delicious and not dry at all. So many people came up to us at the wedding saying, “I feel like I just ate in a restaurant” or “this is the best salmon we have ever had.” Not only was the food amazing, but MOI was extremely flexible and professional, and was able to accommodate us for a tasting during the holiday season. Additionally, night of the wedding, the fabulous staff kept our buffet line moving, and took care of our wedding party all night long. I absolutely recommend using MOI for any event!

Great Food and Excellent Staff
We decided to go with the Southern Buffet and it was awesome! Our guest loved the Pulled BBQ and everyone raved about the squash casserole! Everything was amazing and we highly recommend the shrimp and grits! CM was awesome from the beginning process and followed through along side with his amazing staff! All were very attentive! Thank you so much for a great experience. Our wedding day food was amazing!

Most Compliments Received!
MOI is well known in the community for providing awesome service and delicious food, and they did not disappoint! We received more compliments on how amazing the food was than anything else, I think! The biggest hit by far were the shrimp and grits...people were walking by with three glassfuls in their hands all at one time!!! The squash casserole was fantastic and the balsamic chicken was to die for too. Not only was the food outstanding, but the servers were amazing as well! They took exceptional care of us and our guests; they were simply phenomenal!

Delicious food!
CM does amazing work! His staff knows exactly what to do. His food is amazing, well known for the squash casserole, it was a hit. We went with the southern buffet style and got feedback from everyone that they loved it. We also used his beverage/bar services and they were good. The only set back with the drink was they were not strong enough so if thats a thing for you just ask for a double when you order your drinks and they can do that for you. We enjoyed working with CM and his staff.

MOI is Amazing!
Middle of the Island was a fantastic caterer for our wedding. CM was extremely easy to work with and he didn't need to know what we wanted or the final count until about 1.5 weeks before the wedding. The food was amazing and the staff were all so friendly and fun to be around! Thank you for helping make our day so special.

Amazing!
We are SO happy we chose MOI to cater our wedding! We did the central station package, which included a salad station, veggie station (including baked potato bar), carving station, southern station (including their unbelievable shrimp and grits), and pasta station. Everything was absolutely delicious! We received countless compliments about the catering from our guests, including my husbands dad who is an incredible cook; so having him tell us how fantastic the food was really means something! The staff was wonderful, and they had catered at our venue before which made the experience that much better, since they knew exactly how and where to set up. Highly recommend!!!

Wedding Food
Middle of the Island is by far the best catering company in Wilmington! 1. they are reasonably priced! 2. their staff is friendly and hard workers 3. the food!! We selected the wedding favorite buffet, the fruit and cheese tray, and 2 hot appetizers. - get the meatballs! Best meatballs ever!! The owner was super accommodating. I had two vegan guests and they were able to create separate dishes for them as well.

CM was a wonderful person to work with! He is super laid back but everything turned out perfectly! So many of our guest complemented the food! We thought it was really yummy and there was plenty for all of our wedding guest! We had plenty to take home that night as well! He certainly knows how to cater a wedding! Highly recommend!

Amazing food!!
The entire process from start to finish was amazing. My catering plans changed two months before my wedding! They were super accommodating. Even on my wedding day, a parade blocked the entire street that my venue was on. That didn't stop them from being timely. Everything was ready to go when I arrived. The wait staff was very courteous and attentive to me and my husband and all of our guest! I will be using them in the future for any event that I put together.

MOI is so easy to work with and they are so reliable! The food was AMAZING!! People ate a lot of food! We had the Wedding Favorite with China which was a nice touch! They put out our cake as well which I appreciated! They were great start to finish! Would recommend them over and over!

Great Price Amazing Food!!!
We chose the wedding favorite buffet for our wedding and had SO many guest mention how awesome the food was post wedding. The food and service was great. The staff brought my husband and I a full plate so we could get a head start before the reception commenced. CM was extremely helpful and easy to work with. He needed a headcount and the menu choice a week before the wedding and it was as simple as could be. Highly recommend!!!

Outstanding Service and Food
The food and the service was outstanding. We hired MOI for our rehearsal dinner as well dinner for the wedding day. The rehearsal dinner was a taco bar and the staff went above and beyond. They helped our grandparents get from the buffet line to their table with their food and made sure to keep checking on them. On our wedding day they made our plates and served them to us and really looked out for us the entire time they were there. The food both nights was delicious.

CM was so responsive and answered all my questions so fast! MOI is so very easy to work with and the guests would not stop talking about how good the food was!! They provided everything we needed and it was stress free. I highly recommend!!

Amazing food, amazing price
MOI was recommended to us for our wedding day by ALL locals. I planned my wedding from Charlotte, NC and I was thrilled to have had them as our caterer. CM was great to work with and accommodated us for a complimentary tasting...we also tried like 10 different foods!!!! We had the Southern Buffet and MOI did not disappoint. Our guest loved it and still talk about how amazing the food was. I would definitely recommend MOI not only for quality but also for their reasonable prices!

Excellent food and service
Middle of the Island was perfect for our wedding day! They were so helpful in creating the buffet we were looking for and their service was so professional and the food was amazing! I even had several waiters/waitresses coming up to me with appetizers making sure that I was eating during cocktail hour! That was truly a special touch! They do not sign contracts or even ask for a deposit which worried me a bit, but their reviews were so great I chose them anyways and was so glad we did! If you are getting married or having an event in Wilmington area definitely choose MOI for your catering services! Thank you so much for making our day so special!

No one compares to MOI!
I’ve been to multiple weddings where MOI catered, so when I was wedding planning I knew without a doubt who I was picking. I did research anyway and you really do get the best bang for your buck. I received lots of compliments on the night of. They even prepackaged plates for us to enjoy after the wedding. There squash casserole is also out of this world.

MOI had amazing food! We picked the southern buffet and they had so many options for meats and sides to choose from at a super reasonable price! They were easy to work with, really laid back, friendly staff... don’t require a deposit which freaked me out at first and they don’t want numbers or payments until the week before. Also freaked me out but in the end they are THAT GOOD!! Highly recommend!!

I can’t say enough good things about our experience! From the phone conversations to the actual day they were so helpful! At the wedding I couldn’t have asked for anything more, I feel like the service was really above and beyond! And the food was ammmaaazzinnngg!!!!! The taco bar was the best ever!
