Michigan Shores Club is absolutely beautiful and the service is outstanding. We had ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception there and were even able to have both bridal party and groomsmen get ready at the venue. The Michigan Shores Club has event coordination down to a science. The service from all the staff is extremely high quality and the food and desserts are delicious. Irene was great to work with and was able to accommodate any request we had.

The most beautiful venue possible with the most delicious food and the most professional and attentive staff. We were so luck to have had the opportunity to get married at this historic landmark.

We had our wedding reception at Michigan Shores Club in October 2012 and have not one single complaint about our experience. We are SO glad that we chose this unique, elegant venue for our special day. Irene, the Catering Manager/Wedding Coordinator and her staff were incredibly professional, well-organized, attentive, calm, patient, and skilled! Anytime I had a question in the months leading up to our big day, I received a quick and thorough response. We rented the entire second floor and had all the fire places on...it really gave the evening an intimate, romantic feel. The club is classy with a vintage yet updated vibe, and has breathtaking views of the lake. Irene was able to bring to life our vision for how the rooms would look, and how the evening would run (seamlessly!). Everything truly went above and beyond our expectations. Guests were raving about the delicious food (duet of mushroom stuffed filet and pesto crusted salmon with peppercorn pinot noir sauce) and the service, and how amazing the venue itself looked. I could go on and on about how happy we are... but I will just say, once again, THANK YOU!!!!

Michigan Shores Club offered the perfect venue for my wedding. They also provide all catering, wedding cake and coordination services. The best part was the after-party in the bowling alley - our guests partied until 2am! Everyone had a great time and the staff was very flexible and attentive. My one negative comment would be that there aren't many close-by hotels.

We had a great experience with our recent wedding at Michigan Shores. The food was outstanding and the servers were very attentive and responsive. They made our cake, and the pastry chef was so excited to work on our Gatsby inspired design and it tasted awesome. The only hiccup was the lack of a typical contract, but it wasn't a hold up for our event.

Michigan Shores is a beautiful club and I have been to many wonderful events here. The location is great, the food is great and the club prices are reasonable. However, the event manager we started the planning process with left and the new event manager is overwhelmed and totally unprepared for this job. Our wedding would have been an utter disaster had it not been for our wedding planner. A few pieces of advice if you decide to book here 1. have a wedding planner 2. taste EVERYTHING, we didn't taste the vegetarian option as it's very similar to a dish I loved in the oak room- it was inedible, and the portion was tiny. I am not a vegetarian but knew i was going to be eating quickly so opted for the quinoa and veggies and it was undercooked and tasteless, also we thankfully did a wine tasting because several options were really bad (but they were able to substitute good ones in the same price range).

I would also stay away if you are an out of town bride, as you need vendors to be really reliable with appointments when you are trying to come in for a weekend and do a ton. I was flying to chicago for an weekend of wedding-related appointments and the event manager refused to honor our appointment with her predecessor. We told her we could literally meet her at ANY TIME sunday or monday and she said she would not come in on her days off to do a walk through and answer questions, even though my mom repeatedly explained that it was my only weekend in from where i live on the east coast.

Later, when i was trying to set up a conference call, she suggested I come in person, I told her i live on the east coast. Then on the call she asked if i lived in chicago or suburbs, I told her I live on the east coast, she said "oh i thought it was funny you were saying "central time" in your e-mails"

There were several instructions from our wedding planner that got lost in translation and overall it was very stressful dealing with this venue during their event manager transition.
