Built in 1876, The Merrimon-Wynne House has been carefully restored to its original grandeur. In addition to the picturesque building, The Merrimon-Wynne House has expansive, beautifully maintained grounds. Located in the heart of historic downtown Raleigh, it sits only a few doors away from the Governor's Mansion. Your guests will be enamored by the rich history and grand beauty of the majestic mansion. From the Southern pecan trees to the luxurious architecture, Merrimon-Wynne House sets the tone for the most perfect “I do.”

Facilities and Capacity
Depending on the reception style, The Merrimon-Wynne House can accommodate up to 250 guests for indoor and outdoor celebrations. The spacious lawn provides a charming space for a memorable outdoor ceremony. The Main House provides the perfect space for guests to mingle and enjoy cocktail hour. In the Carriage House, crystal chandeliers will light up your reception in the midst of exposed white washed beams and rolling glass doors.
Rental of The Merrimon-Wynne House includes the following:
Complete use of the house and the beautifully landscaped grounds beginning at 10AM.
Large bridal preparation suite with ample natural light that includes: a steamer, sparkling wine, coffee,
water and orange juice provided upon arrival
Groom’s preparation room which includes a mini fridge stocked with assorted beer and soft drinks

Our Spaces
The Lawn
The Merrimon-Wynne House Lawn allows couples and their guests to experience the beautiful North Carolina weather under a canopy of century-old trees. With luscious landscaping outlining the grounds, this outdoor setting becomes the perfect ceremony backdrop.
The Lawn is also a great option for couples that would like to host their dinner under the stars. The Merrimon-Wynne Lawn can accommodate up to 275 guests, and can have a tent or market lights added to create a romantic, intimate feel in the middle of downtown Raleigh.
The Main House
The Main House is the most popular space for cocktail hour. Often guests will flow from the wedding ceremony into the house and mingle throughout each of the rooms on the main level while sipping a cocktail and enjoying appetizers prior to the reception.
The Carriage House
The Carriage House is Merrimon-Wynne’s newest addition and can host up to 200 guests for a seated dinner and up to 250 guests for a mingling-style event. It is the perfect complement to the main house’s rich character and crisp neutral canvas. Chandeliers and crystal sconces carry throughout both spaces and accentuate the natural light that floods in during the day. The Carriage House is the perfect place for dinner, dancing and hosting a wonderful celebration!
The inside of the Carriage House is also great for couples who prefer to have an indoor ceremony. It can also serve as a quick and easy backup plan in the event of rain, heat or cold. The climate-controlled space gives you a crisp, clean backdrop for your ceremony with gorgeous chandeliers to line your aisle.

These two women are absolute gems. Lucy answered every questions I had promptly and was the ultimate hype woman. She is amazing at her job and you can tell she genuinely cares about her clients.
Anna Claire was our day of venue manager and she was the most helpful person ever! Everywhere I turned Anna Claire was holding a drink for me or making sure every detail was perfect. Together, they made the entire journey feel seamless, joyful, and genuinely personal.
On the wedding day, I was blown away. The Merrimon-Wynne House looked like something out of a magazine—timeless, romantic, and full of charm. Every detail was handled with such care, and Lucy and Anna Claire made sure I didn’t have to stress about a single thing. I truly got to be present and soak in every moment.
Our wedding day was everything I dreamed of and more, and I owe so much of that to the incredible team at Merrimon-Wynne—especially Lucy and Anna Claire. If you’re considering this venue, my advice is simple: say yes. You’ll be in the best hands imaginable.

Perfect June Wedding
Absolutely everyone went above and beyond, especially Sasha our day of planner. She accepted to be our day of planner and did more than we could ever have asked for or imagined, we could not be more thankful for her. The entire team we had were just so friendly, attentive, and welcoming to all. Lindsey as our venue manager was amazing, and Tori as her right hand made sure all we had to do day of was show up on time and they took it from there.
A very well orchestrated machine of the kindest individuals at a beautiful event space made for the absolute perfect day. Couldn't recommend this place more.
