The Merrimon-Wynne is a dream venue - even in the midst of a pandemic. We locked in our date just a few days after our engagement in December 2019. When it was clear we needed to push our wedding date from June to a later date, Kaila (and our amazing planner, Amanda Blair by Design) was on top of it. She presented us with our options, and we ultimately locked in August 7th. At the time, we were hopeful that our original plan of having a ceremony and reception would still be able to take place. In the weeks leading up to August 7th, we were at the mercy of the Governor's mandates, and ended up keeping the date for our ceremony (the best part!!) and pushing our reception to June 6, 2021. The Merrimon-Wynne was extremely communicative and gracious as our plans shifted again. I think the most important thing to convey about our experience with the Merrimon-Wynne though was that our wedding day could not have gone any smoother or been any more perfect. In the midst of a pandemic, Haleigh and the team gave us a day that I'd change zero things about. Coupled with the planning of ABBD, the Merrimon-Wynne made me forget about the fears of the world as I prepared for and ultimately said "I do" to my person on August 7th. We are excited to get to return next year to celebrate, but we are still on cloud nine after our wedding at the Merrimon-Wynne. -

We had the most incredible experience at Merrimon-Wynne House from start to finish. From our very first meeting, we were impressed by the professionalism, attention to detail, and overall charm of the venue.
Lindsey, our client coordinator, was an absolute joy to work with—always quick to respond, organized, and truly attentive to what we wanted. We had specific drink requests for our guests, and she made it all happen seamlessly, which meant so much to us.
On the day of the wedding, Iza, the venue manager, worked hand-in-hand with our planner, Taylor, to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their coordination and calm presence made the entire day feel effortless.
The venue itself is timeless, classy, and full of Southern charm. We loved having the flexibility to decide on an indoor or outdoor ceremony the day of, depending on the weather. The getting-ready suites were the perfect size and beautifully designed—charming on their own. Another huge plus was the turf grass, which meant no sinking heels or dirt—something our guests definitely appreciated!
Every corner of this place is special, and every person we worked with made us feel so cared for. It was everything we dreamed of and more, and we’ll always be grateful we chose Merrimon-Wynne.

My husband and I got married at Merrimon-Wynne in March 2026, and choosing their in-house planning team was easily the best decision we made. It truly felt like a seamless, one-stop experience. The team’s relationships with vendors and genuine familiarity with the venue made everything run effortlessly.
We had the privilege of working with Sasha, who was exceptional. Her planning and execution were incredibly precise, and she kept every vendor aligned and on track. It was clear she has extensive experience at Merrimon-Wynne—everything felt organized, intentional, and under control from start to finish. She provided a detailed timeline for the entire wedding weekend, maintained thorough records of contracts and expenses, and kept everything transparent and on budget with no surprises.
What stood out most was Sasha’s ability to anticipate everything. She always had multiple backup plans in place, yet the day felt so smooth that we never saw a single issue. Her attention to detail was incredible—even right before the ceremony, when my dad’s suit button popped off, she had it sewn back on before I could even say anything. Moments like that perfectly capture how prepared and proactive she is.
Her design work was also outstanding—we trusted her completely, and she exceeded anything we could have imagined. She was a strong advocate for our vision while also bringing expert guidance and confidence to every decision.
The overall experience allowed us to fully enjoy our wedding day. We were truly able to be present and “guests of honor,” never worrying about logistics. Every detail was handled—even small, offhand requests were taken care of instantly. The entire team operates like a well-oiled machine, and it shows.
The venue itself is stunning and doesn’t require much additional décor. It’s versatile, with beautiful indoor and outdoor options for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The downtown location also made it perfect for a walkable after-party.
We couldn’t recommend Merrimon-Wynne and their planning team more highly. -

Best venue ever!
If you’re thinking about getting married here - DO IT!!!! Everyone here will care for you like you are family and they will go above and beyond to make sure your special day happens and is everything you want and more! Lucy truly is so good at her job we had a few calls in the months leading up to the wedding and she was so on top of everything from small details to little details. She was so kind when we asked to add things on last minute and she made them look like we had been planning them for months. From the Photo Booth to the bar to changing the time of our rehearsal 3 different times the day before she was so helpful! And Anna Claire our venue host where do I start!! She is literally one of the sweetest humans you will ever meet❤️ she was at the venue at like 7 am in a snow storm!!!! She stayed on top of everything all day long and she never let me have an empty drink. And then there’s the amazing venue staff - we had a snow storm the day before and they got there at 6:30am to shovel the snow and by the time the wedding started you would have never known it snowed on the lawn! Truly if you need a reason to book the MW let this be your sign you won’t regret it!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about getting married at the Merrimon-Wynne House. From the moment we stepped onto the property, I knew it was the place where our dream wedding would come to life—but what I didn’t realize was just how extraordinary the experience would be, thanks to Lucy and Anna Claire.
These two women are absolute gems. Lucy answered every questions I had promptly and was the ultimate hype woman. She is amazing at her job and you can tell she genuinely cares about her clients.
Anna Claire was our day of venue manager and she was the most helpful person ever! Everywhere I turned Anna Claire was holding a drink for me or making sure every detail was perfect. Together, they made the entire journey feel seamless, joyful, and genuinely personal.
On the wedding day, I was blown away. The Merrimon-Wynne House looked like something out of a magazine—timeless, romantic, and full of charm. Every detail was handled with such care, and Lucy and Anna Claire made sure I didn’t have to stress about a single thing. I truly got to be present and soak in every moment.
Our wedding day was everything I dreamed of and more, and I owe so much of that to the incredible team at Merrimon-Wynne—especially Lucy and Anna Claire. If you’re considering this venue, my advice is simple: say yes. You’ll be in the best hands imaginable. -

My daughter's wedding was at Merrimon-Wynne this October and to say it was perfect doesn't do it justice! The venue is stunning but what made it truly magical was having Heather as our planner through Wynne &Co. When we 'met" Heather via our first phone call in 2023, we knew right away she was perfect for us! Her attention to detail, responsiveness and patience for 2 years was second to none! Lyndsey was also amazing, responding to all of our questions and changes with a smile. My daughter had a detailed vision for the wedding, but the execution of that vision was beyond our expectations. Heather knew what my daughter wanted because she took the time to get to know her and our family and that took away all the stress, allowing us to just show up, be in the moment and have the most perfect day in every way! Heather and the staff at MW took care of EVERYTHING - even things we didn't know we needed! The whole team is amazing and created a day that we wish we could do over and over again - Thank you, thank you from a very happy MOB! -

Our wedding at Merrimon Wynne was absolutely magical. The grounds are breathtaking — from the stunning lawn perfect for our al fresco ceremony and dinner, to the charming house that beautifully blends historic character with modern renovations. The carriage house created the perfect environment for a vibey, high-energy dance floor that kept our guests moving all night.
The staff at Merrimon Wynne went above and beyond in every way. They were professional, attentive, and truly made us feel cared for throughout the entire process. Every detail, from setup to cleanup, was seamless, which allowed us to fully enjoy our day.
We couldn’t imagine a more beautiful and well-run venue for our wedding. Merrimon Wynne made our celebration unforgettable, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a stunning, versatile, and welcoming venue. -

I can’t even begin to express how incredible my wedding experience was at the Merrimon-Wynne. Not only is the venue absolutely stunning, clean, elegant, and a classic backdrop for a day full of love and light - the in-house planning services they offer is the cherry on top. People are still taking the time to intentionally reach out to us and tell us that our wedding was the best they’ve ever been to. We worked with Sasha Buslovich and she was the reason our entire wedding process and day of came to life, like a true dream come true. Sasha was born to be in this industry. She is so attentive, caring, talented, and intentional with her couples and clients - she’s become a dear friend! She listened to every detail, offered to meet whenever needed, and made me feel SO confident that my dream wedding would come to life; and it did - and surpassed our dreams! She made things so seamless, ensured everything was coordinated timely and in accordance with our wedding vision throughout the process, and always gave her creative opinion and expertise. She was so attentive and intentional the day of, ensuring everything went perfect start to finish, and that it did! Not one thing went off of plan. The PERFECT day!
We cannot recommend Sasha and the MW team enough. The value of this wedding venue is incredible, and it’s so versatile! So many different possible layouts for a dream wedding day. The required vendor list is comprised of the BEST of the best in the industry. It made me feel so at ease during our wedding planning process. If you’re debating getting married here, do it, without a doubt. It will be the best experience of your life, on one of the most special days of your life that will hold a special place in your heart for forever. -

The Merrimon was the perfect place for our wedding, my wife and I, and all our friends and family had just a perfect day. Such a perfect venue with the best staff and people you can trust to bring your vision to fruition.
Absolutely everyone went above and beyond, especially Sasha our day of planner. She accepted to be our day of planner and did more than we could ever have asked for or imagined, we could not be more thankful for her. The entire team we had were just so friendly, attentive, and welcoming to all. Lindsey as our venue manager was amazing, and Tori as her right hand made sure all we had to do day of was show up on time and they took it from there.
A very well orchestrated machine of the kindest individuals at a beautiful event space made for the absolute perfect day. Couldn't recommend this place more. -

Merrimon wynne is the perfect wedding venue
My husband and I got married at the Merrimon-Wynne House in May 2025. We booked the venue around Sept 2024 (got lucky with a date opening) and the entire process was seamless for us. We are located in Texas, so we knew we wanted to have the in-house Merrimon Wynne service help us plan and coordinate. The in-house team was the best decision we ever made (besides the venue).
We knew that since our family was traveling from Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Maryland, etc. that we wanted a central venue in downtown Raleigh, so guest didn’t have to travel far. There’s not another venue in Raleigh that has the beauty, elegance, and perfect location like MW did for us. THEN, we meet Sasha, our in-house planner. I’ve read a million amazing reviews about Sasha but I’ll add to the pile. Sasha has a great personality and she is committed to making the couple feel special on their wedding day. She is quick, knowledgeable, and she get sh*t done!! My entire bridal party and both of our parents were raving about how she conducted our rehearsal. Everyone was asking if I was stressed leading up to the weddding and the answer was always “not really… I have Sasha!”.
Lindsey and Tori were also incredibly warm, easy to work with, and made our day go smoothly (if something went wrong.. I didn’t notice!).
I truly can’t recommend this venue and team enough. 10/10 stars!!!

Looking back - when you are looking at venues you are most likely like us and just looking for a beautiful space. No matter what that may look like for you. In the beginning you don’t realize how important the team that comes with the venue is too. Through this process we were blessed that when we chose our venue we didnt only get a beautiful space, but we got the amazing team that comes with it too. The whole MW team is perfectly crafted and they for sure need a raise or something because I dont think we would have gotten this experience anywhere else.
choosing the MWH to get married was one of the best decisions we made and being paired with Lindsey as our planner was one of the best things that could have happened. The venue is naturally beautiful and their team helps you every step of the way. Beautiful venue with ample space that allows so much flexibility to customize it and allows you to fully utlize it and still have a ton of options. You do not need a ton of flowers and decor because the venue is stunning on its own. One thing we love most about it was that it feels like all parts of the property is well utilized making it feel worth the price.
The getting ready space has so much room and great lighting. Our ceremony was on the lawn in front of the tree, but theres still a few different set up options for this. All so pretty. the carriage house, where our reception was - has so much opportunity to make it your own vision. The whole venue is a unique charming space that’ll impress your guests and I cant recommend it enough.
We want to shout out Lindsey specifically. We cant thank Lindsey enough for how much she has helped us. I was a little disappointed that we were required a planner at first, (gotta spend more money is annoying) but looking back I was so wrong. honestly it is worth even more then what we paid. Lindsey took so much weight off our shoulders and guided us so well. After first meeting her, I felt full trust and security in her and knew we were in good hands. Shes patient, kind, understanding, and extremely knowledgable. When you need it - she has answers, suggestions, and tips every step of the way while always being completely on top of everything. We cant thank her enough for how much she made this whole process easier. Truly, thankful for the MW team for helping our dream come true -

The Merrimon-Wynne House is truly the best of the best! From the moment we first toured the venue to the very end of our wedding night, their team was nothing short of exceptional. Every step of the way, they were professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day as special as possible.
Lucy was incredible to work with- responsive, accommodating, and so thoughtful! She made us feel like our wedding was her top priority, and her communication throughout the planning process was impeccable. Planning a wedding can definitely be stressful, but Merrimon-Wynne never once added to that stress. They made us feel at ease every step of the way, always going above and beyond to support us.
On our wedding day, their entire team worked seamlessly behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. We felt so relaxed and taken care of, as did our guests. Lindsey was amazing on the day-of, ensuring every detail unfolded exactly as we had envisioned.
I cannot recommend the Merrimon-Wynne House enough! The venue is so beautiful and their incredible team helped create a day that felt effortless, fun, and truly us. Getting married at The Merrimon-Wynne House was a dream. The property itself is absolutely beautiful — there will be a gorgeous view or backdrop for a photo at every possible angle. Additionally, we were drawn to the venue for its central location downtown and the fact that it offers three diverse spaces that can all be used together to create a true indoor/outdoor experience. The on-site getting ready spaces were a huge bonus! Every member of the MWH team was lovely to work with. They were so responsive and accommodating and made the planning process very enjoyable. -

My husband, James, and I got married at the Merrimon-Wynne House on December 15th, 2024! It was truly a dream come true working with the venue from start to finish. I walked into the house with my mom and best friend at their fall showcase in 2023 and immediately got teary... It's like magic seeing that grand staircase and those beautiful chandeliers. Then we met Sasha, and it was a done deal!
I can't recommend Sasha enough as your planner. She was attentive to every e-mail, every question, every single detail; She allowed me to talk things over with her on calls that I'm sure she didn't really have time for but made time for! Plus she became a true friend to me/us during the planning process! I'll never be able to thank her enough for paying as much attention to our special day as I did. Lindsey Simmons, too, as she was able to help everything fall perfectly into place leading up to the day-of, as well as day-of.
We'll be dreaming of and talking about this day forever. I can't recommend the MW House enough! -

Choosing Merrimon-Wynne as our wedding venue was truly the best decision we made throughout the planning process. From start to finish, working with their team was so seamless, and they made us feel so well taken care of.
For starters, the house itself is a fairytale. The location is perfect - it's within walking distance of plenty of AirBnbs and just a short drive/shuttle away from hotels on Glenwood. We had a lot of out of town guests, so convenience to downtown was a must for us. The landscaping around it is well kept and really helps create a garden party feel, protected from the streets around it. Plus - the neighborhood itself is SO charming. And the inside of the house is just stunning - gorgeous old wood floors, massive windows that drench the rooms in tons of natural light, a beautiful bridal suite and groom's suite where we felt pampered all morning. And those porches!!!! Ugh I love them so much.
The side yard is where we had our ceremony, facing that beautiful big tree, which was the perfect spot at 5:30 in the summer. Merrimon-Wynne has big market umbrellas and hand-held fans which we used to help guests keep cool. With the turf lawn, there are no concerns about heels getting stuck in grass and no worries about mud after a little rain.
The Carriage House is where we had our reception and band, and it was really comfortable for 150 guests plus a hefty stage for The Band Punch. The space completely comes to life so beautifully when all of the tables and decor are put in! And during the cocktail hour, the team flipped our ceremony seating into lounge sets and high-top tables, so guests had plenty of spaces to roam outside and in the house if they needed a break from music and dancing.
We worked with the in-house planning team, including Sasha Buslovich, who was my partner, friend, confidant and cheerleader throughout the 1.5 years of planning. She had so many helpful resources to offer, amazing counsel about vendor partners to choose and an eye for even the tiniest details. She was consistently three steps ahead, and always went above and beyond what I expected. Her team was there with us not only during the planning process, but from the very start of the day, helping to steam all of our dresses, handling all of the vendor coordination and helping us with odds and ends so we could fully relax. I felt like I could just float through the day and not worry about a thing in the world - I knew they would be on top of the timeline and making sure our guests would be in the right place at the right time.
If you're looking for a venue that is sophisticated and gorgeous and a team that will create the best possible experience for you, your family and your guests, look no further - this is IT.

Dream Venue!
From the moment we toured The Merrimon-Wynne House we knew we wanted to have our wedding there! The property and house are gorgeous with so many unique details while still being neutral enough to accommodate your personal style.
We used their in house design team and were blown away with the quality of the service we received! Sasha and Nicole were so helpful and responsive. Their organization and attention to detail put my Type-A personality at ease throughout the whole planning process! And the day of the wedding the entire team went above and beyond to ensure everything went off without a hitch!
Our guests are still raving about how beautiful everything was. The Merrimon-Wynne House far exceeded our expectations! -

Dream wedding at a dream venue
The Merrimon-Wynne has been my dream venue since I moved to Raleigh in 2016. I’ve followed along on Instagram and dreamed about what my wedding could look like there. When my (now) husband and I got engaged and started our venue search there were only a few things we both really wanted. 1) Separate spaces for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception; 2) separate, dedicated spaces for the bride and groom to get ready; 3) a beautiful backdrop for the most special day of our lives. The Merrimon-Wynne delivered on all 3 and more and was an absolute no-brainer when it came to making the final decision.
Our planning and coordinating team, Sasha and Lucy, were above and beyond amazing! The organizational tools that Sasha provided were so helpful and working with her was amazing! I am a bit of a control freak but handing over control to Sasha, Lucy and their team was incredibly easy since I knew they had all of our wants and needs covered! I didn’t have to worry about a single thing day of.
The venue itself is gorgeous. The pictures I had seen were amazing, but they don’t even do it justice. They have thought of literally everything and designed everything with care. The grooms suite was the most thoughtful we had seen throughout our venue tour and my husband and his groomsmen really enjoyed getting to spend time together playing poker and foosball. The bridal suite is spacious, gorgeous, and the perfect place to get ready. The options for our ceremony space were all beautiful, we ended up using the lawn and placing the arbor under the large trees. It was the most beautiful backdrop to a perfect ceremony. The cocktail hour inside the house was beautifully setup and having 2 bars was amazing for our guest count! We opted to also have some yard games and lounge furniture in the lawn during cocktail hour and our reception and it was perfect for the beautiful and warm late October weather! The Carriage House is beautiful and the setup that Sasha and the team did was beyond my wildest dreams, everything was PERFECT!
We had the most special day and Merrimon-Wynne was the perfect setting. We are forever grateful to Sasha, Lucy, and the rest of the team and can’t wait to celebrate more special occasions with The Merrimon-Wynne! -

My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at the Merrimon-Wynne House in October 2023 and we cannot say enough praises about this venue and our amazing day-of coordinator, Lindsey.
From the moment Kaila gave us a tour of the Merrimon-Wynne, we knew it was the perfect place for our special day. The venue is full of charm and intimacy which made us certain we’d feel surrounded by our loved ones all day and evening. One of the stand out features was the convenience of having everything in one place, from getting ready in the most gorgeous bridal suite filled with natural light, to getting married outside on the lawn, to having a cocktail hour on the bottom floor, and a reception in the carriage house. Every space was utilized and the flow made our day a dream.
Our experience was elevated further by Lindsey, our day-of coordinator from Merrimon-Wynne. In the lead up, she went above and beyond making sure all of our questions were answered. She helped me tremendously with the bar quote, coordinating lunch for our getting ready time, and also designed cute printouts from the Photo Booth that matched our invitations! Lindsey’s kindness, attentiveness, and calming presence was a true blessing! She always made sure Adam and I had everything we needed, also ensuring our glasses were never empty and our entire day ran smoothly :-)
We whole heartedly recommend Merrimon-Wynne as a wedding venue! The staff’s exceptional service, attention to detail, and the overall charm of the venue made our wedding day truly unforgettable. Thank you Kaila, Lindsey, and the Merrimon-Wynne team for all of your help! -

Incredible Venue & In-House Planning Team!
My husband and I got married at the MW House in October 2023 and it was easily the best decision we ever made! When we first started touring venues in the area, the MW House immediately stuck out to us due to it's location, charm, and flexible layout. We literally couldn't stop thinking about it, and knew this was exactly where we wanted to get married.
Fast forward to the wedding planning process, we had absolutely no idea where to get started. Everyone we asked for advice highly recommend getting a wedding planner, so we decided to move forward with MW's In-House Planning services. We were paired with Sasha as our In-House Planner and Lucy as our Venue Coordinator, and I cannot stress enough how PHENOMENAL they are at what they do!!
Right from the beginning, Sasha was a true dream to work with. She is incredibly detail-oriented, organized, and somehow remembers EVERYTHING. I knew we were in good hands as soon as she sent us over a Google Drive link that consisted of sample timelines, lists of recommended vendors, planning checklists, and every other resource you could possibly need in order to successfully plan a wedding. She was always so on top of everything, and I'd argue that the reason we actually had FUN planning our wedding was all because of her. She is hands down the BEST wedding planner you could ever find, and we're forever grateful for all she did to help us bring our wedding vision to life!
When it came time to finalize the bar, take care of any day-of details, and book additional add-ons, Lucy was our girl. Just like Sasha, Lucy was always on top of everything and incredibly organized. She helped us revise our bar quote like 100x, get our photo booth booked, picked up lunch for the bridesmaids, and even offered to make us bar signage to take some stress off our plate. She truly went above and beyond, and we can't thank her enough for all that she did for us to make everything run so smoothly and according to plan.
All in all, I could rave about the MW and their team for hours, and if you are looking for the perfect place to get married in Raleigh then you found it. Every single detail about our wedding was flawless and went off without a hitch, and I can confidently say that their In-House Planning Team had everything to do with that. We seriously can't thank them enough for making our wedding day everything we could have imagined and more. Y'ALL ARE THE BEST!!! -

As a bride who works in the wedding industry I cannot recommend the MW team enough! We worked with Sasha for Event Management/In-House Coordination and Lindsay was our day of Venue Coordinator. From the view of the front house that stops you in your tracks, each room that tells its own story, breathtaking lawn, and huge carriage house, MW offers an array of venues all wrapped up in one. Our day would not have been complete without the hard work of the MW planning team (Huge shoutout to Sasha and Lindsey) . Each member greeted us as if we were old friends being reunited. They celebrated us throughout the wedding planning process and helped execute a flawless day. But, none of this would have been possible without our planner, Sasha Buslovich! Sasha is someone you instantly fall in love with and feel so connected with. She is SO attentive to details and listens to every thought you have throughout the planning process. After touring other venues in the Triangle during the early planning process, no other venues compared to the elegance and natural beauty of MW. As soon as we walked in, we were blown away by the space; from the spacious house, to the immaculate lawn and carriage house, I cannot imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Lindsey and Kaila made the booking process absolutely seamless, and were an absolute joy to work with during the planning process. Wonderful experience from beginning to end
My hubsand and I have lived in downtown Raleigh for 5+ years and knew we wanted to get married in the heart of Raleigh. We toured a few venues and liked MW the best. While I thought it was pretty and made for a beautiful venue, it wasn't until we started working with Sasha that I realized how lucky we we were with our decision.
Sasha is a dream come true for any couple planning their wedding. From making the day of timeline, to her communication and facilitation of vendors, to her organization of google drive -- she is the reason I actually ENJOYED planning my wedding, rather than feeling completely stressed.
The week leading up to the wedding, we had family in town and were busy with dinners and hosting. All my friends and family were shocked that I wasn't in the weeds of last minute wedding details. I realized then how at ease I felt going into the big day --- why?? SASHA! She knew every detail of the wedding better than I did.
When the day came, I got to relax in the bridal suite with my friends, getting hair and make up done, while Sasha and Lucy talked with the vendors and turned MW into my dream wedding. The whole day was magical and turned out better than I could have ever imagined.
If you want to get married in Raleigh, I can't recommend MW enough. Sign the contract and get Sasha as your wedding planner. The only downside is that I now want to do it over and over again :) -

The Perfect Wedding
I had my wedding at the Merrimon Wynne in April of 2023. It was a stunning day. I worked closely with Lucy and she helped make it the day of my dreams. The Merrimon Wynne was the first thing I picked in regards to my wedding and they even helped me find some other vendors. Lucy's kindness, attention to detail, and overall amazing personality helped the day run smoothly. I had EXTREME unexpected rain the day of my wedding and I thought it would have messed everything up but it didn't, Lucy and the MW were extremely prepared and worked efficiently with all the vendors I had. I don’t truly have the words to explain just how amazing this venue and the team behind it are. I felt so supported and cared for throughout my entire wedding planning process. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and is meticulously cared for inside and out. When you book with MW, they provide you with a curated list of vendors that will without a doubt ensure you have the perfect day. I initially saw this list as simply a list of recommendations, but what I came to realize throughout the planning process is that this curated list of vendors is not just a list of recommendations, it is a list of relationships. The MW team has formed trusted relationships with these vendors, the vendors have become familiar with working at the venue, and whichever vendors you choose will come together as one big team on your wedding day to execute the day of your dreams. The venue does come at a cost, which was a hard pill to swallow as this was the first thing I booked when planning my wedding, but now that I have gone through the process I can confidently say getting married at this venue was worth every penny.
Beyond the venue itself, I had the absolute pleasure of working with Heather Lawson from the Merrimon Wynne in-house planning and design team, and she more than exceeded my expectations. From the day I met Heather she made me feel like she truly cared about me and my fiance. Heather is incredibly organized, paid close attention to detail, was extremely quick to respond and easy to get in touch with, and despite knowing she probably had a full workload with many other clients, she always made me feel like her top priority. Heather facilitated EVERYTHING from start to finish on my wedding day to ensure I could be present and enjoy it all without a worry in the world. I’ve even received compliments from guests and my bridal party about how she was one of the best wedding planners they’ve ever seen! Heather is an amazing person and is truly gifted at what she does.
I also had the pleasure of working with Lucy Stenhouse who served as the venue coordinator for my wedding. Similar to Heather, Lucy was extremely organized, professional, reliable, attentive, and SO so so helpful. Lucy went above and beyond to ensure our day was everything we imagined. By the end of the process I felt like I had not only an amazing venue coordinator, but a friend in Lucy. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with her!
The Merrimon Wynne truly is the best of the best. Of all of the decisions I made throughout my wedding planning process (and believe me, there were many!), choosing the Merrimon Wynne House as my venue and Heather as my planner are the best possible decisions I could have made. We just got married on July 30, 2022, and I cannot say enough great things about the Merrimon Wynne. It was truly a fairy tale wedding from start to finish. The venue was incredibly responsive, and Mary was a joy to work with. We had about 230 people total and it never felt cramped. We set up a tent on the lawn for extra space and our guests loved it. Our live band made for a great dance floor. We had two open bars that were very efficient. Our guests never had to wait in line. It was elegant, classy, fun, intimate - everything we wanted. My husband and I got married at the beautiful Merrimon-Wynne house in December 2021. It was the only venue we looked at before knowing it was "the one." Between its vintage charm, beautiful fireplaces, stunning chandeliers, and the first class customer service, I knew it was where I wanted to get married. Kaila and Abby were excellent to work with the entire year I planned our wedding. They are extremely responsive and accommodating. They provide recommended vendor lists when you book with them which made my planning so much easier. I used several of their suggested vendors and all proved to be excellent. My only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer and enjoy that gorgeous venue! I highly recommend the Merrimon-Wynne House! -

What can I saw about this place that hasn’t already been said? I’m so glad my husband and I decided to start our wedding planning early, because otherwise, I worry they may have been booked up. It’s popular for good reason, so be sure to book early in your planning! We were able to get our photo booth, transportation, and several other little details (like exit sparklers, and lunch for the bridal party and groomsmen) as à la carte additions, which made planning those things less of a headache. Weddings have enough moving parts already. But, if you’re like me, you also don’t want an all-inclusive venue that limits your vendor options to whatever is in-house— so it’s a perfect balance. It was also a pleasant surprise when we returned months later for their Holiday Magic event and were recognized by staff even with masks still on. Perhaps a silly detail to sum, but it made us feel welcome, and gives the impression that they pay loving attention to every wedding they host. Can’t recommend them highly enough! -

The Merrimon-Wynne House is a dream venue. My husband and I got married here in June. We live in California and had to plan our wedding not only living in a different state but during the pandemic. We worked with Sasha who was absolutely AMAZING. She walked us through each step of the way and was there for every question we had. She informed us of every update in regards to Covid and the changes that would effect our big day. On the day of our wedding, it rained (we were told it's good luck). Sasha spent all morning setting up our seating arrangement inside, moving it to outside when it stopped raining and having to move it back in when the rain started again. She worked so hard and so graciously all morning. After our ceremony it stopped raining and we were able to take pictures both inside and outside of the venue. Pictures here are a DREAM. The Merrimon-Wynne House is such a beautiful venue - rain or shine! My husband and I cannot express just how much we love The Merrimon-Wynne House and the girls who work here. This is the most beautiful, whimsical and elegant venue. It was everything I wanted and more. From the white walls, to the crystal chandeliers, to the shabby chic bridal suite, MWH is a one-stop-shop with each space more beautiful than the next. Kaila was so warm and welcoming from the second I stepped on the property. I do have to give a HUGE shout-out to Lucy, who was my venue contact. She went above and beyond for me and my wedding. I probably asked her to send me 50 different bar package proposals and she always responded right away with the most cheerful disposition. She even handwrote the last few sentences of my vows because her printer wouldn't print it all on the card she made for me for the ceremony. She is literally the best!!! We had our dream wedding planned and ready to go. When Coronavirus necessitated stay-at-home orders for our state, we had to scramble to change our wedding plans. We contacted the staff at Merrimon-Wynne to let them know we would have to reschedule our originally planned wedding. They made it seamlessly and incredibly easy to change our date where all of our guests could attend.
When we approached them with a request to have a small and simple ceremony to honor our original date, they were quick to say "YES!!" Thank you to Kaila, Haleigh, and the entire Merrion-Wynne House staff for everything you have done and continue to do! They went above and beyond to make this moment so special for us! While our wedding didn't look the way we had originally planned, it was an incredibly intimate and memorable day! They even went so far as to provide a champagne toast and a romantic lunch for us to celebrate our special day!
If you are looking for a venue to have 2 or 200 people attend your event, the Merrimon-Wynne House is your venue! The venue is so gorgeous, that really you don't need to add anything to make it beautiful. But, you can add as much as you would like (see their instagram page or website for more details!) We originally chose the Merrimon Wynne as our wedding venue because it is absolutely stunning. I loved how light, airy, and clean the entire venue looks. I was particularly drawn to the "getting ready rooms" for the bride and groom. Little did I know, the Merrimon Wynne is not only beautiful but their staff is amazing as well. Abby was our coordinator and she was very flexible making sure our day was perfect. She worked with us to get us the bar menu we wanted, the decor we wanted, etc. Between Abby and our wedding planner everything was taken care of all day long. We never had to worry about anything. Abby even made sure we had a fresh drink in our hands at all times. It's really that attention to detail that makes the difference. I highly recommend the Merrimon Wynne. The Merrimon-Wynne House and team are a DREAM. The house is stunning and provides so many spaces to have a full wedding all in one location while changing up the scenery. We got ready upstairs in the beautiful bridal and groom suites, had a wonderful ceremony on the lawn, hosted a cocktail hour inside the house, and then danced the night away with a reception inside the carriage house and ice cream on the lawn. The ability to flow between spaces was a huge positive for us so that our guests could mingle the whole time without having to change venues. The house is beautiful and simple to begin with so you can really make it your own with decorations. We're so thankful they had big lawn umbrellas as well as person umbrellas so that we were still able to have our ceremony outside despite the sprinkling rain! We got so many compliments about the venue and how people were able to mingle outside during the reception as well. It really made our wedding feel so intimate with 150 people! Kaila was an amazing coordinator. I never had to worry about organizing the vendors or if I was forgetting something. She always had me covered! The Merrimon-Wynne house is perfect and the team is incredibly professional! I highly recommend checking them out when looking for an all-in-one venue! -

Choosing the Merrimon-Wynne as our wedding venue was the first and easiest decision we made -- as soon as we walked in, it felt right! The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. It is classic & timeless and very Raleigh -- we loved getting to share it's character with our many out of state guests! The team at the Merrimon-Wynne made the wedding planning process so much easier. We worked with Abby and she was absolutely amazing! She was willing to help with anything we needed and always made us feel like her number one priority! She gave great, honest advice and never pressured us to pick a particular vendor or to do anything we were not comfortable with. She always seemed genuinely excited about our wedding day AND our marriage. She clearly wanted us to be happy first and foremost! The day itself was a dream -- we loved getting ready in the bridal suite. We had an offsite ceremony, then came back to the most beautiful reception. We really enjoyed being able to have separate spaces for the events. We had cocktail hour in the main house followed by dinner and dancing in the carriage house. We had plenty of room for our band and our 150 guests! We also had great weather and our guests were able to enjoy the outdoor space to have lawn games and get dessert! The house also provided the most beautiful backdrop for pictures. The day could not have gone better! My husband and I got married here on Friday June 14th 2019. The Merrimon-Wynne was the most incredible venue for our wedding day. We worked with Kaila Anderson as our venue representative throughout our entire wedding planning process, from the first tour we took at the Merrimon-Wynne all the way to our wedding day. Kaila is incredibly professional, helpful, answers emails insanely fast and was there to support us and help us with our every need throughout the entire process and down to the last minute of our wedding day! Definitely request to work with Kaila!! The Merrimon Wynne house itself is absolutely stunning. The bridal preparation suite was beautiful and filled with complementary champagne and sodas on arrival. The set up is perfect for a large bridal party with plenty of room to change, eat and hang out. The grooms suite was filled with beer and soda on arrival—which the groomsmen really appreciated! One of my favorite things is the fact that the lawn is perfect year round—it looks absolutely incredible in pictures!! Oh and the air conditioned reception space is a huge plus— Especially in the summer months!! Trust me, you and your guests comfort is worth the price. Do be warned that there are alcohol minimums based on the day you choose on top of the venue rental price. Overall we had the best day ever and would do it all over again at the Merrimon-Wynne House!! -

My husband and his groomsmen also loved their suite, and took advantage of the poker table to pass the time while the women got ready.
We hoped to have our ceremony on the lawn, but it was sweltering on our wedding day so we moved the ceremony to the carriage house. In retrospect, we were so happy it turned out that way! We had about 175 guests, and the carriage house still felt cool and spacious. We were even able to use our hanging branch installation above the ceremony instead of an arch, and received so many compliments on that!
We held cocktail hour in the house and on the lawn, and our guests loved playing corn hole and other yard games outside, especially the children! Then we went back to the carriage house for the most perfect reception. I truly can’t compliment the space enough. The estate is so lovely that we tried to go more minimalist with our decor to really emphasize the details of such a gorgeous historic home!
Abby, our venue coordinator, was just incredible. I can’t fully capture my appreciate for her in words. She was so organized and attentive to our needs during the planning process, and always made sure we had a drink in our hands the day of! We loved working with Abby and can’t recommend her and the Merrimon-Wynne enough. You won’t regret choosing them for your venue! -

We could not have dreamed of a more beautiful venue or wedding day! The staff is helpful, friendly, and professional. Initially, I was skeptical of the price, but it was worth every penny. I would not change a thing and am so grateful for this perfect place. -

The Merrimon-Wynne House was the perfect spot for our Raleigh Wedding. My husband really wanted to be downtown, while I wanted a more classic, rustic vibe. This was the perfect compromise. The house is beautiful, the lawn stays green all year long, the carriage house is the perfect reception space. The coordinators and employees are the most responsive, professional, caring people. They even went above and beyond and helped my dad special order some wine/bourbon for our night. I literally cant say enough good things about this place and the people who work there. They host tons of weddings so they know their stuff. Worth every penny. -

The Merrimon-Wynne House provided the most beautiful space for our most perfect day! From the time we first visited, to our exit as husband and wife on our big day, Amy was there to make sure our journey was smooth. We had our ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour in the house and reception in the carriage house and we could not have asked for better accommodations. The bridal suite for getting ready was comfortable and gorgeous, while the men stayed comfortable and entertained in the groom’s suite. Our guests experienced first class service during cocktail hour and the reception, and our photos and videos couldn’t be better with the house as the backdrop! The Merrimon-Wynne is a beautiful piece of Raleigh history with amazing staff and I would highly recommend them!! -

Getting married at Merrimon Wynne House was a dream come true!
I saw this house online way before we ever got engaged and remember taking a mental note to save for later... a few years later here we are! We looked at 10 venues in the area (I saved the Merrimon Wynne for last) The minute we pulled up and walked up the main stairs to the big double doors, we knew this was where we wanted to start "forever".
We worked with Abby, who was a life savor! She has recently joined the MW team and I can't say enough good things about her. She is so sweet and friendly, and made sure we had a drink in our hand all night.. (how can we not love her for that!)
The vendors on their preferred list were a dream to work with and honestly I still can't stop starring at our wedding photos because every backdrop is simply gorgeous!
I do wish they had a BYOB option for their alcohol, but that is honestly my only critique which isn't even that big of a deal! -

This venue was spectacular - we had both the ceremony and reception in the house (didn't use the carriage house or outside) and it was so cozy and intimate. Guest list was in the 30s. All our guests were so impressed and enjoyed themselves, and I think just being in the Merrimon Wynne House is half the fun! The cost is a bit high, especially for a guest list as small as ours, and there is a hefty alcohol minimum involved in signing a contract. (You can either agree to this cost or not have any alcohol, but for us that wasn't an option.) However, all the ladies that work at the house are super responsive, cheerful, agreeable, and they definitely do whatever they can to ensure that your day goes your way. Additionally, they have tables and chairs to use, including the bar setup, so you may save money on rentals. The house itself is so gorgeous that we saved money on decorations as well - it doesn't take much to make the house wedding-beautiful because it's already almost there on its own. This might not be the case so much if you have a large party and you're doing stuff outside or in the carriage house, which are two spaces that are much more blank-slate. Even if all you're doing in the house itself is getting ready, and having the reception in either of the other places, you will have a fun time and gorgeous pictures :)

Oh the sweet Merrimon-Wynne house! There is truly nothing like it. When it came to wedding planning, we just knew this was the place for us long before even stepping foot inside! The Merrimon-Wynne House is truly everything southern, traditional, and beautiful wrapped up in the prettiest bow.
From getting ready all day with my best girls and Austin with his best guys to being introduced into the Carriage House for the first time as Mr. and Mrs - it was all such a magical experience. We loved all of the options that we had here. We loved that our guests got to explore the beauty of the home and enjoy the lawn for cornhole and lawn games during cocktail hour. Then, getting to dine and dance the night away with all of our favorite people in the world in the gorgeous Carriage House is an image and feeling I will forever have in my heart!
Abby was so helpful leading up to our big day and was such a sweet and calming presence during our wedding day. She was always checking in to see how we were doing, if she could be of any help, and to make sure we always had a yummy drink in our hand. The entire team is so professional and treated us with such kindness. The Merrimon-Wynne house is full of weddings every day of pretty much every weekend of the year, and yet they truly made us feel as if we were the only bride and groom in the world.
We couldn't recommend them more and we are forever grateful for this place for making our first day as husband and wife as beautiful and as special as it could possibly have been! -

Kaila was very helpful when we booked the venue, and Abby was so responsive in answering all my questions as we neared our wedding date. Abby worked seamlessly with our vendors to make sure everything went smoothly, and I never felt like anything wasn't under control. It was great having everything on one site - our suites for getting ready, the outdoor ceremony space, the house for cocktail hour, and the carriage house for our reception - and I think our guests appreciated that everything was centrally located. They do require that all alcohol is purchased and served through the venue, but the bartenders were fabulous and they made sure we had something to eat and drink before going into the reception for our first dance. The venue feels and looks so romantic without loosing any of its down-to-earth charm. I would absolutely recommend Merrimon-Wynne as a venue for anyone planning a wedding in Raleigh!

Natalie Sent on 08/17/2018I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that the Merrimon-Wynne is the perfect wedding venue. You can get ready, take photos, and have your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, all in the same beautiful place! Both my husband and I grew up in Raleigh, and we can truthfully say that the Merrimon-Wynne is one of our favorite places in the entire city. The house is absolutely gorgeous and impeccably decorated. The landscaping looks amazing, not to mention the "astroturf" lawn, which looks so real but makes a rainy wedding day (like ours!) not a problem! And the carriage house is just perfect for dinner and dancing. I kept joking that I wanted to move in after our wedding! The light is beautiful no matter where you are on the property, and the staff is incredibly professional and communicative throughout the process. I hope I'll get to host another event here someday!

Diane Sent on 07/01/2018Our daughter (the bride) looked at several places before deciding on The Merrimon-Wynne House as the venue for her wedding. It was the perfect choice! We used the carriage house for the ceremony and dancing, the house for cocktail hour and the lawn for dinner. And, we were able to stay in the house for the entire day of the wedding - a huge plus! Kaila was a wonderful coordinator - she was responsive to our questions and was a gracious hostess throughout the planning process. Highly recommend!

Alina Sent on 06/21/2018My husband and I got married at The Merrimon Wynne on June 9th and it was the PERFECT venue! We live out of state, so when we got engaged I had my parents tour the venue with Kaila. My mum said the minute she walked in, she knew it was exactly what I wanted. We booked it sight unseen (except seeing it whilst FaceTiming with my parents), and it was the best decision we made for our wedding day. The house is so beautiful and elegant with gorgeous chandeliers and fireplaces. The Merrimon Wynne now has two beautiful white bars that can be placed inside the main house, carriage house, or outside. They also provide lawn games if you choose to use them, and our guests (especially those who aren’t big on dancing) loved being able to spend time outside playing them during the reception once it cooled down. Our ceremony took place on the lawn, which has artificial grass and perfect for heels! The venue is so stunning on its own that we chose to do simple touches and got so many compliments from guests about everything. Kaila was absolutely amazing to work with! She was always quick to respond to emails and answer any questions we had. Kaila was there the day of the wedding to help with anything we needed and we were so appreciate of her! We had the wedding of our dreams at The Merrimon Wynne! -

Let’s start with the venue. The house itself is gorgeous. It has beautiful lighting, amazing high ceilings and one-of-a-kind details you only find in a historic home. And the fact that you and your entire wedding party can get ready in the house is even more perfect.
The Carriage House is what sold us! It’s elegant and simple – truly a blank slate for any event design. We loved it so much, we decided to have our ceremony inside the Carriage House, then flip the space for our reception.
The Merrimon Wynne staff is incredibly helpful and communicative. We worked with both Kaila and Abby, and both were great! On the day of the event, Abby made sure we had everything we needed – including a drink in hand!
Our guests loved the venue, and that they could stay in one place the whole night! We got so many compliments on the venue and are so glad that we chose to have our wedding at the Merrimon-Wynne!
