I cannot say enough positive things about Max’s Catering for our daughter’s wedding at Rosedale Farms in Simsbury CT. Amy Bombard and the entire staff and venue left no detail untouched! We had approximately 175 people and they managed to provide elevated dining experience with each guests food courses all arriving freshly made, prompt and hot. Quite a feat for a large tented outdoor event! Many guests commented they’ve never had a wedding meal of this caliber and we couldn’t agree more. I’d highly recommend Max’s for weddings of any size!😊😊😊😊

Max was the required caterer for our venue and boy are we glad- it was the BEST food we have had at a wedding or event every. All the food was so hot, fresh, flavorful and the dinner portions were large! The guests were so complementary of the food and the drinks were well made and done quickly- the bar line was never backed up. All the staff was kind and attentive. So happy with Max's service and quality.

We had an incredible experience working with Max Catering and specifically their catering manager for our 220 person wedding.
We booked them in early 2021 for our June 2022 tented wedding (where we had to bring EVERYTHING on site - it was a field!). We had a delicious tasting with them in May 2021, followed by clear and easy communication in the months leading up to the wedding. Their catering manager met with us multiple times leading up to our wedding, attended our site visit, and worked directly with the rentals provider to ensure they had the supplies they needed. They even let us make headcount adjustments in the final days leading up to the wedding as we had several guests cancel close to the date.
It’s also worth noting that we had a hiccup with the site itself where they changed their liquor permit requirements - Max was incredibly communicative and worked with the township to understand the law and help fix our issue, all with 3 weeks to go until our wedding.
They are fairly priced and the food was absolutely delicious - my friends can’t stop talking about the short rib and mashed potato bite hors douevers at our cocktail hour. I felt like they had such a great handle on all aspects of the event, and catering really manages the event from start to finish - so I couldn’t recommend them enough. Thank you so much for making our day absolutely perfect and enabling us to relax and have fun!

There are not enough great things to say about Amy! She magically captured our vision for the big day and delivered the most deliciously wonderful wedding of our dreams! Our guests are still calling to discuss the amazing food almost a month later and I don't blame them! Unlike every other wedding I've been told about, where the happy couple may not have a chance to enjoy their meal, we got to enjoy and savor every bite. Amy's team made sure of this by brining us hors d'oeuvres in the bridal suite (while we were waiting to be introduced), strategically bringing our dinner courses out only when we were able to sit for short periods of time, and following us with a fresh beverage when we were whisked in a million directions throughout the evening. Service was not just great for us though, EVERYONE raved about the staff, their attentiveness, professionalism, and celebratory demeanor. I hope I have an opportunity to work with this amazing team again for some other happy event in the future!

We had Max catering for our 40-person microwedding. Amy is super professional, accommodating, and responsive. She and her team went above and beyond not only for the catering itself but also in running a smooth event overall. Working with them was a stress-free and enjoyable experience, from planning to the tasting to the day of. They also worked with our venue really well and again were extremely professional. The team did a wonderful job making sure we as the couple had food and beverages. The food itself was delicious, seasonal, and exceeded our expectations. Our guests also commented on how the food was amazing. We had several moving parts to the wedding day and were running behind schedule, and the Max team did an incredible job handling any and all last-minute changes. Definitely worth it if Max is in your budget! We would highly recommend them!!

I begin this review saying I love food. I mean I really love cooking it and most importantly eating it, so there was a brief moment I thought about doing it myself, but then I came to my senses. We decided to do something a little different than the typical chicken/beef/fish plated dinner and Max’s delivered. We did the smothered and covered option. Our guests said the food was fantastic. From the beginning everything was easy, they were responsive and professional and most importantly flexible. They even brought Dr Pepper because that happens to be the grooms favorite soda. My mother (who is very tough to please) was very impressed with the staff during the event and told me so. They are on the pricier end for a caterer, but I felt like the money was the best I ever spent and the food was well worth it.

We were initially reluctant to use Max for our backyard wedding catering because they were more expensive than the other caterers we considered. In the end, however, Max helped us get the price down to a point we were comfortable with, and the quality, service, professionalism, and overall excellence were ultimately worth the extra cost.

Jordanna and Amy responded immediately to our emails, accommodated every little request, offered useful opinions, and gave us a hand with all the details that backyard weddings involve. They came to our house for a walk-through before the wedding and helped us make floor plans for the tent, order rentals (through Taylor Rentals in Manchester), and think about the flow of the event. On the day of the wedding, the Max staff members brought us a platter of hors d'oeuvres, made sure we went up first to the dinner buffet, and came by every twenty minutes to make sure we were taken care of. Plus, they played with our dog and started a conga line on the dance floor! In short, every single person on the staff was kind, helpful, and professional.

And, of course, the food was amazing. One guest (who has high standards for food) described it as "the best I have ever eaten at a wedding or anywhere." There was a long line for the dim sum station during cocktail hour, and the Chop House station received lots of compliments, especially the tenderloin, salmon, and potatoes. People were even complimenting the dinner rolls. And I can't recommend the mini dessert station enough—there was a huge variety, and everything was both beautiful and delicious. My new husband and I went back for a second round of desserts.

TL;DR: If Max is within your budget, you should hire them immediately.

Max could not have been a better choice for our wedding. And it was surprising! We went into the process wanting a local small business to cater, but were blown away by Max's food and professionalism. We worked with Jordanna to design a menu that was healthy and fresh - arugula salad, local cheeses and charcuterie - but not too healthy! - latkes and ice cream - and it was delicious. Our guests were raving about it!

We absolutely appreciated the professionalism that Jordanna and Amy brought to the event. There is a lot to be said for choosing to work with an operation like Max's, where you get the benefit of experience and the ability to ask them to do ANYTHING and have them deliver. It all came out in the details - we had our own server, Lori, "assigned" to us for the night to make sure we ate, local ice cream from a childhood favorite store was served, and almost everything was naturally gluten free (the bride is celiac).

Basically, we are so grateful we made the choice to go with Max. Worth it.

When we started planning our wedding the one thing we knew for sure was that we wanted to use Max Catering as we are huge fans of their restaurants. Boy did we make the RIGHT choice! Amy was so helpful and easy to work with. The food was amazing. We did a Sunday Brunch Menu. The staff was also amazing. Friendly, happy to be there, and we wanted for nothing. I cannot say enough good things about Max Catering. I hope we have another event so we can us them again!
