We did a family portrait session with Marissa and it was so wonderful. I always feel so awkward with portraits, but she set us all at ease, even my squiggly 3.5 year old, and magically captured some beautiful photos of our family that I know we will treasure forever. I'd like to give a big vote of confidence to Marissa's photography. As a guy, I often feel awkward having my photo taken, especially posed shots. Marissa made the entire process painless and dug out some absolutely amazing images of my entire family - including our young kids. We hired Marissa to take family portraits and her vibe was great, getting everyone to loosen up and be truly happy during the process. She never missed a special moment.

I couldn't have been happier with our choice to hire Marissa to shoot our wedding. We are very particular about photography (we interviewed 11 photographers) and she was above and beyond the best we could could find. We were looking for two main qualities in a photographer. First, her work had to be amazing. Second, she had to be someone we would want to spend the majority of our wedding day with as you see your photographer a lot!

On the first note, we were blown away by Marissa's work. She is a true artist. She has such an amazing ability to capture a moment...even the ones you do not know are occurring. She has an eye that cannot be taught and the end results are just beautiful. During our interviewing, we found that photographers are either great at "moments" but their formal shots weren't anything special or the opposite. With Marissa, she is truly wonderful at both.

In addition to her work, she is truly a joy to be around. I wish we lived closer so I could force her to be friends with us :). She made me feel so calm and taken care of on my wedding day. She made our families feel comfortable, scoped all the sites in advance and just made the process seamless. Even when our guests picked her up on the dance floor, she just went with it. She was so fun to have at our reception.

We just received our photos and they are amazing. I can't believe what a great job she did. Do not even question hiring her! I will be hiring Marissa for lots of family photos in the future. Her work is just magic!
