They were wonderful. Very friendly, fast service and had a large selection of options for my groomsmen! Great prices too!

Proceed with caution and ask about late fee

When I first moved to the area, I worked at Margolis Men’s Store for a short time. At first, the owner, Amanda, seemed like a reasonable and decent person. That changed quickly. After testing positive for COVID-19, I responsibly stayed home until I was no longer contagious and attempted to return to work. Amanda’s response? I was told I “still didn’t look good” and should stay home until I felt 100%. After that, I was completely ghosted—no communication, no clarification, nothing. Just silence.

Despite that experience, I continued renting from the store when necessary, but each visit has only gone downhill. Amanda now acts as if she doesn’t know me—completely cold, dismissive, and unprofessional. After my most recent experience, I’ve decided I will not return, and I urge others to think twice before doing business here.

Here’s why: Renting a suit typically involves picking it up on a Tuesday or Wednesday and returning it the following Monday. Being courteous, I mentioned ahead of time that I’d be out of town until Wednesday, so I’d return it two days late. A newer employee told me that this would count as “a rental and a half.” That was shocking, since when I worked there, the late fee was $20 per day—something still posted on a sign in the dressing room as of May 20, 2025 and I have a picture of this sign. When I pointed this out, the employee said the sign was outdated and that they “don’t follow those rules anymore” due to COVID changes.

That explanation doesn’t hold water. I worked there after the main COVID outbreak, and those policies were still in place. Rather than charging a reasonable $40 in late fees, I was hit with an outrageous $100 extra charge.

This store lacks consistency, professionalism, and basic courtesy. Amanda’s behavior toward former employees and the bait-and-switch pricing model are unacceptable. Proceed with caution—there are better, more honest businesses out there.

I am not one to really ever leave a bad review but I felt it was necessary for this establishment. I chose Margolis Men's Store to rent the tuxes for my wedding and in the beginning was happy to be supporting a local company in my hometown. They were nice to me personally when I went to get measured but were very rude to all of my groomsmen. One groomsman went to get measured and there was a young associate who acted like it was a huge burden to measure him. He then proceeded to speak to him in a condescending manner and told him that he would not look good in the tux I picked out because it was a slim fit (pretty much telling him that he was too overweight). That was the worst experience but all of my groomsmen said that the associates were very rude. Then when it was time to pick the tuxes up for the wedding which was out of town 3 hours away, there were so many mistakes. The same groomsman who they were the rudest too, had a shirt that was way too small because he was measured incorrectly (maybe they should have spent more time measuring and doing their job instead of acting like my groomsman was a burden). They had to order him another shirt which he had to wait until 1:00 the next day to pick up which made him late to the wedding rehearsal. Next, one groomsman's shirt was way too big and another was way too small but luckily they were able to switch with neither of them fitting ideally. Then they lost one groomsman's shoes and completely forgot to order shoes for another. However, it didn't stop there. I had one groomsman return all of the tuxes and the sales associates were rude then as well. Acting once again like it was a burden to help him.

I strongly encourage you to choose someone else for your formal wear rental. While they do have a nice selection of clothing and tuxes, the personnel make it an unpleasant experience to shop there.
