From the first meeting to the final photo taken at the wedding, Lucia was kind, professional, comforting and overall - amazing. My husband and didn't plan on taking Engagement photos, but Lucia strongly encouraged us to do so and took the photos at no additional cost. It was important to her to get to know us, our angles, what poses we were comfortable with, etc... prior to the day of the wedding so that we didn't have to waste precious wedding time on this "test," on our wedding day. The engagement shoot was fun, and the photos are incredible. We had no doubt she would take great care of us the day of the wedding. Before the wedding she made it easy for us to outline what it was we wanted, and the day of the wedding she took everything we spoke about into consideration, including making sure she got the shots we wanted without pulling us away from our guests for a long period of time. Lucia took the most incredible photos and captured every special moment. I don't know how she did that with just two shooters - but she did! I'm in the Marketing and Advertising business and have produced a number of photo shoots with well-known photographers, and I have to say on a personal and professional level, she is by far my favorite!

Before arriving at the photo shoot I felt like I was going to be extremely awkward to photograph. At the beginning of the shoot this was the case.... however, Lucia's fun yet relaxed demeanor along with how she expertly guided me through various poses made me feel like a natural by the end of the day. I usually am so critical of myself in photos but these are stunning. I catch myself looking at the photos months after seeing them for the first time and I am proud that I will have them for the rest of my life. I am so pleased with the outcome and I attribute it all to Lucia's skill and artistic eye. I cannot say enough about her talent in all aspects of her photography not to mention her incredible personality!!!! I look forward to her posts on facebook with new shots and new people. I am pleased to say that these photographs will be with me forever and I will be reminded by how great my overall experience was with Lucia. A million times thank you Lucia for turning the awkward to elegant.

Lucia was a dream come true for my husband and me! We had originally hired a woman who turned out to be a fraud and we were frantically searching for a new photographer. I'm so glad we found Lucia and she proved to us very early on what a REAL photographer is all about. Lucia Gill Photography was a god-send.
Backstory: A family friend who is a semi-professional photographer had offered to photograph my wedding as a gift, but had to back out of even attending less than a WEEK before we were getting married. Needless to say, I was in a panic! I was planning a very intimate ceremony with just 25 family & friends in Washington, DC, where I knew nobody, during a very busy wedding season (The Cherry Blossom Festival) and I just KNEW I was going to have no pictures to remember our day other than those taken on family cell phones & digital cameras.
On a whim, I decided to see if I could find someone on Craigslist that could even just take high-quality photos and maybe I could learn to use Photoshop and edit them myself (!!). I came across an ad from Lucia, who had just moved to DC from CA at the time, and was looking to learn the DC area and get exposure for her business there. When she told me she was available, I was able to exhale slightly. When I clicked on the link she gave me to her website, I knew that I had probably just hit the jackpot!
Lucia is an amazing photographer, she has a great eye and she is just so NICE. I honestly could not imagine anyone else being able to capture our little wedding so beautifully and to be able to put us all at ease on such an important day. I have continued to follow her work and she has exponentially grown as an artist. I am always so proud to say that Lucia Gill Photography was on hand to document our day. I look at the memories that Lucia has given us daily and I am so thankful that my Craigslist whim turned out to be the pot of gold!
