Lisa Gaskarth was the wedding planner for our daughter’s wedding in Washington, DC—and this review is long overdue. The fact that I’m still such a strong advocate for her years later says everything.
Like many weddings, there were multiple strong personalities involved across both families, which could not have been easy to manage. Lisa handled it with remarkable calm, focus, and professionalism. She consistently brought the attention back to what mattered most: the couple and their experience. That steady perspective helped keep everyone grounded and moving in the right direction.
From an execution standpoint, she truly went above and beyond. She managed to create a warm, intimate, and inviting atmosphere—even within a larger hotel event space. That’s not easy to pull off, and she did it seamlessly.
The most telling endorsement is this: years later, family and friends still talk about that wedding as one of the best they’ve attended—purely because of the feeling, the energy, the “vibe.” There were many contributors to that, but Lisa deserves enormous credit for bringing it all together into something so cohesive and memorable.

EASILY, without a doubt 100% the best person/planner we've ever worked with! The amount of patience you had throughout the entire year of planning and delivering this wedding was next to none. Your calmness throughout the wedding day brought a nice ease to our stressful job so I can't thank you enough for that, I don't think I've ever felt that before haha I couldn't recommend Lisa and her amazing team more. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without Lisa. I can’t begin to count the times that my wife and I looked at each other throughout the planning process and said, “I am so thankful we have Lisa… What would we do without her?”

Planning a wedding can be very stressful. It’s one of the best days of your life but the weeks and months leading up to it can get a bit haywire at times. We wanted every little detail to be perfect and have ties back to us as a couple. But there are thousands of decisions you must make and many times, those decisions are timebound and dependent on one another. So, we knew from very early on we needed help…

Now, I must say, Lisa is a dear friend that my wife has known for almost 20 years. She has quickly become a close friend of mine as well, so asking her to be our wedding planner was one of the easiest decisions we made – also one of the best! But don’t think we hired her just because she’s our friend… Lisa kept us organized, was thoughtful with her feedback and ideas, and maintained the highest attention to detail every step of the way. She was honestly perfect!

If you have been fortunate to attend one of Lisa’s weddings you will notice how beautiful and unique each one is to the couple. The details she inputs bring out the couple’s personalities; truly making you feel as if you stepped into their love story for a night. For my wife, Lisa highlighted her past as a ballerina by elegantly using ribbon bows throughout the design. And for me, an avid golfer, we utilized one of my favorite golf courses as a design on background of our stationary. From monogrammed ice cubes, illustrations of our dogs on the cocktail napkins; it was the custom little details such as these that without Lisa, would never have come to fruition.

I could go on and on about the amazing details she planned and how without her so many things would have fallen through the cracks. But I would be remiss if I did not speak about the aspect of Lisa’s support that meant the most to us. As I mentioned before, weddings can get stressful even with a planner. But throughout the process, Lisa made it a point to ask us how we were doing and ensured it never became too much to handle – simply put, she kept us sane nine months, which is no easy task 😊. Not only did she help us by keeping the planning fun, but she went above and beyond in so many ways; even hosting calls with our families to walk them through timelines and answer their questions.

So all in all, Lisa is an amazing designer who will ensure your wedding day is the greatest day of your life, part time therapist to the bride and groom, and the best and most organized planner we could have ever dreamed of. Its easy for me to say it was worth every penny, but I’ll close this review with my favorite comment a friend made to me the day after our wedding… he said, “I knew from the moment I walked in the venue that it was your wedding. Everything was so uniquely y’all. Everywhere you looked there were different aspects of each of you. That night couldn’t have been about anything but you and Alex (my wife)”

SO if you are still contemplating a hiring a planner… DO IT! And hire Lisa, it’ll be one of the best decisions you ever make!

Lisa was by far the best investment we made in our wedding. We felt like we were the only wedding she was planning because her interest and dedication to our relationship and our vision was exceptional. She was always a text away, answering all of my questions and concerns without hesitation! I felt like she understood my dream wedding as well as I did and she worked to find the perfect vendors and to make the perfect product as though it was her own wedding Our big day went off without a hitch because of her attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. My entire family always sings her praises and I would recommend her over and over to anyone seeking a planner. Moreover, she is now a friend! I couldn’t have imagined more.

My husband and I had no idea where to even begin with planning our wedding, so we made the decision to hire Lisa to help us. Lisa was able to create a vision for us that was perfect, while also sticking to our budget. She found vendors for us that were extremely talented and really great to work with. My husband and I got married in a small ceremony on a Friday and had a big celebration on Saturday. Lisa was on top of everything, she even printed out mini schedules for everyone involved in your wedding, and made both of these days absolute perfect. My advice to newly engaged couples, if you're going to hire a wedding planner, make sure it is Lisa. She helped make our wedding so incredibly special, and blew our expectations out of the water.

Deciding to work with Lisa was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She turned the wedding planning process into a fun, stress-free experience. Lisa was so on top of everything and kept me on track as well- I seriously can't imagine having done all of the things that she did from keeping track of vendors, re-organizing our seating chart at the very last minute, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and looked perfect, etc. She has such a good creative vision and an eye for flair-- and was able to turn my thoughts into a reality and also pushed me outside of my comfort zone. She was thoughtful with our budget and saved us a lot of money with her discounts with various vendors. She was also such a pleasure to work with! I really cannot recommend Lisa enough.

The best thing we did was hire Lisa Gaskarth to plan our wedding. Our wedding was in DC and had many moving parts, it became even more complicated when our ceremony venue canceled six weeks before our wedding date. We were devastated but within hours of getting the news Lisa used her experience, knowledge, and all her wonderful vendor connections and was able put all the pieces back together again! She held our hands through the entire process, negotiating new contracts, hiring buses to get 180 guest from the hotel to the wedding venue, she never stops working to make your wedding day perfect! Her creativity and aesthetic design is like no other, our venue decor was breathtaking. There are not enough words to describe Lisa's unwavering determination, if you want the wedding of your dreams, hire Lisa Gaskarth to plan it.

I am writing this review over a year later and I am still obsessed with our wedding coordinator. Our wedding day (actually, wedding week since it was a mini destination wedding in Deep Creek) was absolutely perfect and we owe it all to our fabulous coordinator, Lisa Gaskarth. From day 1, Lisa was available and accommodating. She provided extensive knowledge and expertise regarding logistics and scheduling and assisted us with finding the best vendors to travel to Deep Creek for our special day. My husband and I had a grand vision of our ceremony and reception and Lisa executed it beyond our expectations.
