Where do we even begin?! We worked with Monica at Imani Starr Events for our garden party wedding this fall, and from the very first check-in to the final load-out at the end of the night, we couldn’t have been more grateful to have her by our side.

Monica handled our month-of and day-of coordination with so much professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. She attended final calls with our vendors, gave us expert advice on our timeline, kept us calm through confusing documentation, and always showed up with the kind of positive, grounding energy you dream of having around you during wedding planning. She led our rehearsal the day before (no small feat with a big family and large wedding party) and managed it all with confidence and grace. Somehow, she kept everyone on track (even the little ones!) while still keeping the mood light and joyful.

On the wedding day itself, Monica was truly everywhere at once. She checked in with us first thing in the morning, made sure the venue staff was attentive to our needs, ensured our breakfasts and lunches arrived on time, and kept us fed and hydrated all day long, all while overseeing the seamless setup of both our ceremony and reception spaces. She blended effortlessly into our big families, quickly becoming a trusted ally and advocate, and it was clear that every vendor respected and appreciated working with her. She even planned a last minute getaway car for us, when guests began arriving early, and we (the bride and groom) needed a way to get from the mansion, across a large open field to our ceremony space without being seen! In the blink of an eye, she came around the corner with her assistant in a car to drive us down without being seen!

Most importantly, Monica gave us the incredible gift of presence. Because of her, we were able to let go of the logistics, trust that everything was handled, and just live in the joy of the day, something we’ll cherish forever. For two people who can get easily overwhelmed, this was the greatest gift she could have given us. Reliable, kind, genuine, and deeply skilled, Monica not only brought our wedding vision to life, but also made the entire process feel fun and stress-free. We truly couldn’t imagine our day without her, and we will be forever thankful that she was part of it.

We had the pleasure of working with Imani for our wedding weekend in May 2024. After we got engaged, we started our planning process a year before, Imani understood our vision completely and also gave us so many different design and floral ideas along the way. Imani was super professional and really knows her vendors in NYC. We got the best of the best because of her and our entire wedding weekend was so seamless it felt super relaxing and everything was INCREDIBLE! She was there everyday for us starting from our Friday tea ceremony, Saturday welcome drinks and our Sunday Wedding day, she constantly made herself available if we needed her.
