Two months before the wedding, she met with us again to walk through key information like our timeline, vendors, rentals, and more. She documented everything and always stayed on top of it, which meant we didn’t have to stress over any logistics on the big day.

- Proactive communication and coordination: We planned our wedding ourselves and worked with multiple vendors. Dona proactively reached out to every one of them, shared the timeline, communicated logistics, and made the coordination on our wedding day completely seamless. Even my hair and makeup artist couldn’t stop raving about how smoothly everything went, thanks to Dona. She was also incredibly responsive to our emails and questions throughout the process.

- Extensive domain knowledge and experience: Whatever the concern or uncertainty, Dona had an answer. For example, we had guests from different countries and were worried about language barriers during speeches and icebreakers. Dona gave us great advice on how to navigate it. She also gave excellent vendor recommendations - I hired both my florist and DJ based on her suggestions, and they delivered exactly what I envisioned.

She was incredibly knowledgable about the wedding industry, has many great connections and recommendations and she was was very patient, kind, and an absolute joy to work with. She paid such great attention to detail, listened to all of our ideas and brought everything we had imagined to life!

Not only did she keep everything running smoothly, she also went above and beyond to coordinate additional elements such as a Chinese Lion dance and fireworks. Dona was able to capture our vision for a wedding and make it into a reality. She provided all of the vendor options that we needed for our wedding. All of these vendors came together and coordinated them so well that everyone at the wedding had a blast. We are so happy that we had Dona as our wedding planner. We don’t think that anybody else can do this any better.

It was amazing that she was able to juggle multiple weddings on top of taking care of her family at the same time. Dona held guided us from September 2023 to our wedding date. The meetings that we had were perfectly spread out and it helped calm any anxiety. The first meeting that we had, we weren’t sure where to look for any of the vendors. It was pretty much “cold calling” a bunch of people, but you dramatically reduced it down to a few that fit our taste. We were so worried that we would get the wrong person for the high price everyone was asking for, but with her, that became a baseless fear.

Dona answered all of the questions we had for her. The answers were always quick and informative. We were so glad that she accommodated us by using Discord to talk to us. It made things easier when it comes to sharing links and just discussing random things and questions. Knowing us, if everything was through email, those messages would have gotten lost in our inbox.

Dona planned our beautiful lakeside hotel ceremony and reception in May. Since then we have had time to settle in as newlyweds, take our honeymoon, and reflect on the whole wedding experience. It was truly one of the best days of our lives and we continuously receive praise from our guests on how stunning and thoughtfully organized the events of the day were. Dona did an amazing job listening to our vision and preferences. She came up with innovative ideas and applied her expertise to design our perfect day within our budget. I think it isn’t until you have begun the wedding planning process that you realize just how much detail and effort go into creating your special day. It can easily become a stressful experience if you don’t have the right team by your side. Dona guided our entire planning process and connected us to so many incredibly talented and trustworthy vendors. Dona has a genuine passion for the work she does and cares tremendously about her clients wellbeing. When there were bumps in our planning process due to the venue’s errors, Dona was at the forefront of it all and advocated for us every step of the way. Through her sense of humor and positive attitude she reminded us to have fun and enjoy this process which we could not be more thankful for. She made sure to never overwhelm us and approached each phase of the planning process with attainable goals. Her communication skills are magnificent. Where do we begin?! We hired Like A Dream for wedding day-of-coordination, recommended by another coordinator. We chose Dona because she has worked weddings with our cultural backgrounds (Iu Mien and Vietnamese). We didn’t have to explain certain cultural traditions, because she was already familiar and understanding. Not that this was a requirement when we were looking for a coordinator, but when she mentioned she already knew about Iu Mien traditions, we were hooked because it’s such a small ethnic group.

From our first meeting, we instantly clicked with her. We had certain traditions we wanted to do and weren’t sure if it was possible. But she made it happen, despite it being such a jam packed day. Dona is so detail-oriented and always asks the right questions, with a positive attitude and constantly problem solving. She also had a useful list of rental inventory that saved us the trouble of looking for other vendors - we rented table numbers and a fancy bar cart that added extra flair to our reception.

Leading up to the wedding, unfortunate circumstances happened but Dona was able to provide solutions and handle all the communication with vendors seamlessly. Her empathetic presence and lending an ear for us to voice our frustrations was so relieving during our time of stress. Even on the day itself, other unlucky things happened but Dona and Michelle (her assistant) were still able to make the whole day go amazing! Our families were able to rely on them for questions instead of coming to us first, so that we could still enjoy the day.

Dona and her team went above and beyond our expectations - we cannot thank Like A Dream enough! We recommend her to anyone in search of a wedding coordinator and an overall great person.
