Lawrence Preserve at Horseleg Creek is a wedding venue located in Rome, Georgia. Sitting on 145 acres of rolling grounds, the spacious back porch has distant views of Walker Mountain. It is just 4 miles from downtown Rome and its various hotels, restaurants, bars, and entertainment conveniently situated for visiting guests. With space for indoor or outdoor celebrations, couples can establish the tone of their wedding with ease.

Facilities and Capacity

Couples have several ceremony and reception locations to choose from on this estate, such as an outdoor ceremony on their grounds, at the pond, or a more formal ceremony near the house. Inside, couples will find a large banquet hall with chandeliers and a gas fireplace, as well as a pub-style room which features a grand wooden bar. Lawrence Preserve at Horseleg Creek can seat over 200 wedding guests in its main banquet hall, with additional space on the easily accessible covered back porch. This porch is the ideal space for an intimate cocktail hour with its rocking chairs and ceiling fans. The venue’s glass doors and windows can allow you and your guests the chance to see all the natural beauty offered by the venue’s surroundings. Meanwhile, the site’s get-ready room comes with three restrooms, two showers, and plenty of comfortable furniture, allowing each member of the wedding party to relax before beginning their walk down the aisle.

Services Offered

Lawrence Preserve at Horseleg Creek is available for hosting rehearsal dinners, alongside the wedding ceremony and reception. The experienced staff at the venue go above and beyond to assist their guests with all of their needs on the day of the wedding, such as taking care of tables and chair setup. This property’s staff welcomes outside wedding companies that can help to enhance the day. An in-house DJ is offered, but not required. Alcohol is provided by the venue, who can also create a package customized to each event’s specific needs. The large parking lot is free and is readily available for couples and their guests.

Perfect venue. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better place.

Everything about this place was amazing. The place is just beautiful,quiet, and spacious. We had about 70 guests and it never felt crowded. Todd was extremely helpful when we needed more tables and chairs set out. He met up with me whenever I needed him to, and it was just an overall exceptional experience. My wedding was perfect.

Beyond amazing

This venue is gorgeous and surrounding area even more. As soon as I saw first few pictures, I knew that was the place I was looking for. Todd, property manager, is even more amazing. We needed to organize our wedding remotely and in very short period of time and honestly, I have no idea how we would do it without him. Since our first contact through all of the process he was helping us on each and every step. He was available for video calls so i could see the venue and international calls to discuss the details and go through all of our questions. Also, ee recommended us other vendors, like catering companies, photographers, wedding cakes and not just that, he contacted some of them personally to let them know we will contact them and to let them know what we were looking for and check if they are available on our wedding day. And there are no words to describe how much he did for us on our wedding day: from organization part, dealing with other vendors, even helping me to put some decorations. During photo session he was driving us around the property in his truck so we could have wedding photos taken at different locations (property is huge and beautiful). My family could not attend the wedding, unfortunately, but they were on video call during the even and Todd was making sure that laptop is placed so they can see whats going on, even during the ceremony, he carried it around to make sure they don't miss anything. He's also a DJ, he did a perfect job in that segment and still had time to do all of the things described above. We would give this place and Todd a 100 stars (but 5 is maximum). Thank you for all of the assistance and making our day beyond amazing!!

Great Venue, Excellent Staff, Wonderful Time!

My wife and I recently had our wedding at Lawrence Plantation on 10/10/2020. From the beginning when we booked this venue in September 2019, we knew we made the right decision. Todd is wonderful to work with and was always communication with us and our wedding planner. He offered his suggestions on various locations for the band we were having based on their size and whether we were having the reception inside or outside.

It ended up raining (thank you hurricane) and having tornado warnings on our wedding day, so everything was inside at the last minute (since we planned outside thanks to COVID-19). Everything was beautiful and more than we could've hoped for. We did get a small break in the rain so we were able to take some of our photos outside and they are gorgeous.

Everything about this venue was great from the staff to the space to the TVs for football games during the receptions. Everything was just wonderful and we are so happy with the way our special day turned out!

Beautiful venue! Highly recommend!

We cannot recommend this place enough! My husband and I had our wedding here back in November of 2019. From the beginning, Todd, the manager, was very welcoming. He made the process so easy for us! He consistently kept me and my mother updated in the months prior to the wedding, and was so helpful in preparing us for the big day!

We decided to have our wedding outside. The day before our big day, it decided to rain. Todd was very understanding with us needing to put a tent up last minute. Even better, he was our DJ! He did a great job! Our special day turned out beautiful and everything was perfect! The scenery made our pictures beyond amazing! The plantation house has the ability to allow you to decorate however you choose and make it individualized and special to you. It is very spacious and comfortably fit all of our guests with still having a large dance floor!

Again, Todd was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We met up with him several times leading up to our wedding and he was always able to answer all of our questions. We highly recommend this venue and are so thankful we had our wedding here! Everything was amazing, and it could not have happened without the help of our families and Todd! A Perfect Wedding Reception

Thank you Lawrence Plantation at Horseleg Creek! What a beautiful venue for our daughter's wedding reception! Everything was Perfect! Todd Williams helped us on every step of the planning! We had 200 people and there was plenty of room for dining tables, dinner buffet, cocktail hour, dance floor and lots of socializing. They offer great options on caterers, bartenders, DJ Service, set up and clean up. Thank you for making our daughter's dream come true!❤👰🤵❤

Best venue in Rome, GA!

My husband and I got married in a small, private ceremony back in June 2019. Both us and our families wanted to have a ceremony and reception for our families and friends to attend. We had checked out a few different venues before Lawrence Plantation, but when we walked in along with Todd being so welcoming, we knew that this was the right place for us! Months leading up to the event, Todd was emailing me questions that I had never even thought of. He was so helpful!

My husband plays adult league soccer for the Y locally, and he wanted to have a soccer themed wedding. He had this crazy idea to have small blow-up soccer balls thrown around us during the introductions to the reception... Both Todd and our DJs, Amy and Michael Scott, were so great about having this happen the way we wanted. It turned out perfectly!

Also, my aunts were supposed to come decorate for the reception the morning of, and Todd let me know the Friday before that Saturday that we could come set up a day early if we wanted. IT WAS SUCH A BLESSING! He even offered to turn on all of the probably 50 LED candlelights that morning, so they wouldn't have to come back before the ceremony. He made sure the table cloths on each table looked great. The bartender was friendly... OH! And we had a heavy presence of attendees who were between the ages of 2-14, and we wanted to hang up pinatas for the kids.. Todd was so happy to help us find a tree outside that was perfect for this.

Also, if you're the kind of person who wants to make sure that everything is covered, go with the Lawrence Plantation. We had one of our favorite local Italian grills cater, and they did not bring enough napkins or plates for everything. Todd was prepared and said he had back ups of everything!

I could go on and on, but I can say for sure that if I ever have another huge or even small event, it's going to be at the Lawrence Plantation. Everything turned out perfectly, and it couldn't have happened without the help of our families, friends, and Todd!

Exceeds expectations!

The venue is very elegant and versatile. We could not have been more pleased with our experience and the limitless possibilities for ideas. The venue can be used for any idea you have for a gathering. The service and support from the staff is impeccable. The Lawrence Plantation at Horseleg Creek will surely please you.

Amazing! Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Lawrence Plantation this October! My now husband, mother and I looked at multiple venues in the Rome area, and this was the perfect fit for us. The venue is beautiful-it overlooks what used to be a golf course, with rolling hills and beautiful trees in the background. The plantation house is a stunning space, is classic and can decorated in any way you choose, it doesn’t hurt that it has a huge wrap around porch that is perfect for an indoor/outdoor experience! We decided to have our ceremony outside, overlooking the golf course with the hills in the background. We had a cocktail hour to follow which was held on the porch and the back lawn leading up to the house. The dinner and dancing was inside, and the built in bar was great to have! We had 170 guests who comfortably fit in the reception room, we had a huge dance floor and still had room to spare for extra tables if needed. The manager, Todd, was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. We exchanged many emails and phone conversations, and never left with a question unanswered. Todd was very accommodating, met with us multiple times leading up to the wedding, and made sure everything was executed well the day of the wedding. We had multiple guests rave about the venue, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We highly recommend this venue and wouldn’t have changed a thing about our big day! Thank you so much to Todd and Lawrence Plantation!
