Offering everything from lakeside ceremonies to elegant ballroom receptions, Lanier Islands is an exceptional, all-inclusive wedding venue in Buford, Georgia. It is an ideal location for out-of-town guests and offers countless wedding-adjacent adventures such as boating excursions, a round of championship golf, and rejuvenating spa treatments. Less than an hour's drive from Atlanta, this beautiful resort allows you and your partner to create a timeless setting that is both profoundly romantic and effortlessly convenient.
Facilities and Capacity
Depending on the size of the guest list, Lanier Islands provides dozens of indoor and outdoor locations ideal for a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The modern Sara D. Williams Chapel offers a more traditional setting and can play host to vow renewals and weddings. It sits perched high above the lake and offers a breathtaking view as you prepare to walk down the aisle. Alternatively, Legacy Pointe, a lakeside venue near Legacy Lodge, sets the stage for a fairy tale outdoor ceremony and reception. It can accommodate up to 250 people and is the perfect place to be when the Georgia sun is shining bright. Peachtree Pointe, another spectacular lakeside setting, features an amphitheater, wooden stage, and a beautiful arbor on the water. Its capacity is the largest, welcoming 350 of your family and friends. However, should the weather forecast tell a grim tale, you can choose between one of six spectacular indoor venues, including the Grand Ballroom and Blue Ridge Ballroom. Accommodating 350 and 250 guests respectively, these are the two biggest interior settings, and they combine grandeur with versatility to ensure you tell your wedding tale truthfully.

But what really made our day so special was the people. Angelica, our catering manager, was amazing. She made sure every single detail with the food and drinks was spot-on, and you could tell she genuinely cared about making our day perfect. And Jackie, our wedding coordinator? She was incredible. So calm, so organized, always thinking three steps ahead. Because of her, we didn't have to stress about anything—we could just be in the moment and enjoy it.
We can't say enough good things about the whole Lanier Islands team. They really helped make our vision come to life. If you're looking for a wedding venue with beautiful scenery and a staff that actually cares, this is the place. We're so happy we got married there!

The Perfect Wedding at Lake Lanier Islands
Olivia, our catering manager, was phenomenal. She was responsive, organized, and ensured the food and service were top-tier. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and flowed perfectly throughout the night. Oksana, our sales manager, made the entire planning process so easy and stress-free. She answered every question with patience and made us feel supported from start to finish.
We also want to give a special shoutout to the event captain, who was a steady and professional presence on the day of the wedding. Their attentiveness and behind-the-scenes coordination made everything feel effortless for us and our guests.
Aside from the incredible service and gorgeous setting, we were also blown away by the value for money. Lake Lanier Islands offered a breathtaking venue with top-notch staff and amenities at a very reasonable price point—especially compared to other locations we considered. We truly felt like we got so much more than we paid for.

From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew this was the place. We had never visited before our tour, but Fernando Saenz made us feel right at home. He was warm, patient, professional, and answered all our questions without hesitation. After that first visit, we were completely in love with the venue.
Once we secured our date, we began working with Olivia Hinze on all the planning—and we could not have asked for a better partner through the process. Since Lake Lanier Islands handles the catering and event setup as well, Olivia became our go-to for everything. She brought structure, organization, and calm to a time that could have easily been overwhelming. Her sweet smile, charming personality, and professionalism made all the difference. She was always responsive to emails and phone calls, even during the final stretch when communication really picked up. Olivia handled everything like a total pro.
We also offered a hotel room block for our guests, which was managed seamlessly by Dolly Cueva. She made it simple and stress-free, which we so appreciated with so many moving parts leading up to the big weekend.
When the wedding weekend finally arrived, Lake Lanier Islands absolutely delivered. We hosted both our rehearsal dinner and wedding/reception on the property, and everything was flawless. The staff was incredible across the board. A special shoutout to Sandra, our catering captain for both events—she and her team were exceptional.
From the planning to the food to the atmosphere, Lake Lanier Islands exceeded our expectations at every turn. We are so deeply grateful to have celebrated one of the most important weekends of our lives in such a magical place, surrounded by an amazing team.
