From start to finish, our wedding at The Kingsmill Resort was everything we dreamed of and more. The venue is beautiful, and the entire experience was worth every penny. During the day, there are scenic walking trails, on-site restaurants, a cozy coffee shop, and a fantastic gym that many of our guests used, making it feel like a true getaway. Even though our wedding was in early March, before the grass had fully greened up, the property was STUNNING—so picturesque and charming!

We hosted our welcome party at Elements Bar, which was the perfect way to kick off the weekend with its lively atmosphere and great vibes. We also created a Virginia-inspired menu with some of our favorites, like a cookie and ice cream bar, which our guests loved. Chef was so friendly and talented!

The staff and bartenders were exceptional. They were warm, accommodating, and went out of their way to ensure every guest felt welcomed and cared for throughout the entire weekend. Their attention to detail and service made it feel like a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We stayed on property, as did many of our guests and that was another highlight of the weekend. For those who initially planned to stay elsewhere, they quickly switched to Kingsmill because the resort itself felt like a vacation. We loved waking up so close to the ceremony site—it was such a special feeling to be right next to the place where we were about to get married.

The photo opportunities were endless. From the stunning water views during our outdoor ceremony to beautiful spots throughout the property, we captured so many amazing memories.

The cocktail hour in the Moody Room was perfect with incredible views and a cozy vibe by the fireplace. The Burwell Room, where we held our reception, was ideal for our 100 guests. The space was perfect for mingling and dancing, and the outdoor patio overlooking the water was a great spot to take a break from the dance floor.

I can’t say enough good things about Danielle, the venue coordinator. She was truly a lifesaver throughout the entire process. From our very first meeting, Danielle made us feel at ease and completely confident that everything would be taken care of. She was incredibly organized, always available to answer questions, and she was flexible when we needed to adjust things. Danielle went above and beyond in every aspect, from handling last-minute changes to coordinating with all the vendors. Her attention to detail was impeccable, and she truly listened to our vision for the day.

Our wedding was everything we imagined and more. I highly recommend Kingsmill Resort to anyone looking for a beautiful and unforgettable experience.

Danielle was the coordinator for my daughter’s wedding. She was very good about answering my questions promptly and going over all the details. I picked this venue for several reasons.
1. Excellent food
2. The number of places you can take pictures: golf course gardens, Estate, marina, and beach
3. Guests have the option to stay on-site, so there is no concern about transportation at the end of the night
I could not have been happier with my experience at Kingsmill Resort. We chose to get married in the Grand Ballroom, but loved the opportunity to take pictures in numerous places after the ceremony. They did a great job with the room flip. They took us around on golf carts for our pictures, so we were able to go to 5 sites in under 1.25 hours. Service was outstanding and we loved our head server, Bee and the coordinator, Cintia.
My only complaint was the steak. The food really was excellent, although the filet mignon was cooked rare for many guests and myself. I could hardly eat it. I just ate around the edges.
Otherwise everything was perfect.

If you are looking for the best place to host your event in Williamsburg, you found it! I am a professional DJ and I work a few wedding events here every year and already have some lined up for next year. Before this year is over, I wanted to take the time and share with all review readers how grateful I am for the opportunity to be able to collaborate with such a great venue and the talented team that makes magic happen every time I am there. As I have sat here this morning writing reviews for our vendors for my daughter’s wedding on Saturday, I kept opening the tab for Kingsmill – and quickly pushing it aside – this was going to be a tough one. Truthfully, I don’t even know where to start – thank you doesn’t even begin to touch on the amount of gratitude and appreciation we have for the experience and privilege of working with you. From the moment we walked in the door for our very first tour of the beautiful venue there – James Gelfand has gone over and above every single expectation. To say he was amazing is to not do him justice. Every single detail was attended to, he listened so patiently as my daughter described her vision – and he professionally and wonderfully brought it to life. As an already nervous and anxious Mother of the Bride who had insanely decided it would be a good idea to take on the role of Wedding Planner – an area I was completely clueless about – he walked me through every step of the process, kept me on track, provided the perfect amount of encouragement and support. Closer to the actual date of the wedding, we begin to work more closely with others involved – Lauren Freed, Erin Clark, Savanah Fowler, Kyra … each and every one there created a personal relationship with us, and the end result was a day that exceeded our wildest expectations … Thank you is truly, truly inadequate. Kingsmill is a breathtaking location that is now forever embedded in our hearts … and we are so very humbled by the gracious and welcoming experience we have shared with you for what was single handedly – the very best day of my daughter’s life. If I could give you a hundred stars, it still wouldn’t be enough.

My wedding was breath taking. I couldn’t have asked for better weather. The view from their main event lawn was beautiful and everyone was so helpful. I got the pleasure of working with Erin & James. They made everything so easy and stress free. Thank you for everything!! We will definitely be back for vacations and anniversaries! ❤️❤️❤️

Kingsmill is an amazing place to get married! Our wedding was in early November and they must have also special ordered awesome weather! Our guests oohed and ahhed about everything and the food is amazing! I'm using a lot of exclamation points, but seriously, give this place a try.

The banquet coordinator/manager Kaitlin Edwards is a dream to work with. She helped us narrow down our fickle back and forth decisions and was always so accommodating to both me, my new hubbie and our parents. Seriously, it was an amazing wedding.

We had a holding room in the downstairs area where my bridesmaids and I got married. I decided to cater breakfast and lunch for them because hey, we were gonna be there all day anyway. And when we started getting dressed our catering staff actually helped my bridesmaids pin my slip up as it looked like it was peeking through the bottom of my dress (THANK YOU AGAIN CATHIE!!)

Everyone was amazing, zero complaints - our wedding was held in the James River Ballroom - you should at least check out those amazing windows.

KingsMill and the entire support staff were tremendous. We only have great things to say about our Catering manager, the entire KingsMill staff, the entire resort facility, and all the arrangements that they helped to provide. We could not have made a better choice. We are so pleased and happy about how the event turned out. It was absolutely perfect in all respects. Each event, from the moment we met our Catering Manager and the staff waiting for us in the lobby on rehearsal day, to the rehearsal lunch, the rehearsal itself out on the lawn, all the way through until conclusion of the ceremony and reception the next day, was perfect and flawless. And the planning process was a delight. My wife (then fiancée) constantly raved about the wonderful support KingsMill provided throughout the planning process leading up to the wedding and reception, and about how responsive and helpful they were. All of our special requests and questions were addressed professionally, thoroughly, timely, and efficiently. We felt so comfortable the whole time leading up to and during the event. Our event manager and her staff were all so friendly and accommodating at the same time. We had quite a crowd, and a lot of special requests, but the event manager kept everything running smooth throughout. It was such a pleasure working with the entire staff. We truly appreciate everything they did to make the entire event so wonderful and exceed all our expectations. We will definitely recommend KingsMill to all our friends and family for their special event, or just for a visit to a wonderful resort facility with an excellent staff. We have fond memories that will last a lifetime thanks especially to our personal event and catering manager and all the staff. KingsMill provided all of us a wonderful experience with friendly and exceptional customer service.
