Kim and Lupe were incredible and very patient working with my wedding party, which ranged in experience from someone who had no idea what they wanted for their hair & makeup to someone who brought extensive references and asked for specific changes. I am an anxious person by nature, even more so when I have to be even partially in charge of any kind of event, and Kim's calm and practiced work made me feel so much more at ease. She was even able to incorporate a golden laurel hairpiece that I was worried wouldn't work, but it did, and I felt like an empress on my wedding day.

I particularly appreciated Kim's skincare product suggestions, which I still use a month out from the wedding and plan on continuing, swapping out parts as needed. I've come to enjoy my skincare ritual in the mornings, and my partner has noticed the difference and started looking for some of his own to use!

If I could give Kim Baker Beauty more than 5 stars, I would!! My wife and I got married in Saratoga, California a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't have been more thrilled with Kim, Lupe, and Steven. We got hair and makeup for ourselves and our bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, and even a little kid makeup for our flower girls.

Our priorities were to feel present on our wedding day and to feel like ourselves, just a little more polished. We don't wear makeup on a day to day basis, and so we didn't want fake lashes or extensions. Kim worked with us to help us achieve our vision for our hair and makeup and encouraged us to give her extensive notes about what we didn't like at our preview (SO hard to do as a people pleaser, but Kim created a safe space where we were able to do so).

My wife Ali thought she wanted a glowy look, but ended up going completely non-glowy on wedding day and LOVED it. She struggles to have her hair hold a curl for more than an hour, and Kim did such a good job her hair was still wavy the morning after the wedding after sleeping on it all night!

I found out at our preview how particular I am about having my makeup done, and Kim let me do my eyeliner and eyebrows myself on our wedding day. It was the perfect balance of feeling pampered by Kim but still feeling in control of the things I am very picky about!

Both of us have very sensitive scalps, and Kim made sure each and every pin felt comfortable and wasn't pinching. It made a HUGE difference in our stamina throughout our long crazy wedding to not have the added sensory nightmare of pins buried in our heads.

Full disclosure, Kim is a dear friend of mine. But she and her team also hit it off with the rest of our bridal party! They're in selfies taken while getting ready, and they even got our shy junior bridesmaids chatting and laughing. We are so grateful for how they made our wedding morning feel organized, calm, and fun!

Kim Baker Beauty is a fantastic business! I chose them initially because they had a good Covid-19 policy, and they offered basic hair+makeup services for men. I don’t think I found anyone else who had that listed in their regular services.
When I did a video call with Kim, she was very kind, fun, and had great advice, and great patience for all my questions. I wear makeup extremely rarely, so I was very little help. Kim explained a bunch of stuff to me, and gave great suggestions, both for the makeup, and for a pre-wedding skin care routine. She recommended several products (which were lovely!) and gave me a whole routine to do. She tailored it completely to my needs, including asking how good I am with sticking to routines and how overwhelming it might be to have several products, which is such a great question!
Kim also arranged a schedule for the hair and makeup services that was detailed out with who would be working on who and when. That was very helpful to have early on so that we knew how much time we would have for pictures.
A week before the event we did a hair and makeup preview session with Amber, one of the artists who was going to work with us on the day of. She was fantastic, listened to what we were looking for and gave advice (which we definitely needed!) She was very patient with our questions, lack of knowledge, and lack of intended vision. It was very very helpful to do a preview, and especially with Amber working with us on the day of the wedding.
On the day of, we worked with Amber, Koryn and Ari. They were all extremely professional, highly skilled, friendly, and kind! We did have to swap one person around who was a bit late, but they took it in stride. And I asked for some slight tweaks from the preview, which were put into practice perfectly!
All three artists were right on time and worked diligently and quickly. They listened to everyone’s requests, gave advice where needed. It was a wonderful experience all around!
I would absolutely recommend Kim Baker Beauty, they are highly skilled, highly professional, and completely up front and clear about expectations, which I always really appreciate.

I got married in Monterey, CA and used Kim Baker Beauty (specifically Kim) for my bridal hair and makeup. Kim was so professional on top of being so kind while my bridesmaids were buzzing around. I was worried about looking like a completely different person, and Kim made sure I looked like a glowing bride. She was the first vendor I met day of and set the tone for a very relaxed day. She also helped me build out a skin care routine to prep for the big day by making it seem less intimidating and using my budget and skincare concerns. 10/10 would recommend and plan to use Kim's team again in the future!

I hired Kim Baker Beauty to do hair and makeup for me for my wedding in Sausalito. Kim and Amber were amazing throughout the whole process and did an amazing job on both my own hair and makeup and the rest of my wedding party. Kim was my makeup and hair artist for my wedding in July 2022 and I could not recommend her enough. Her style is very low-key and natural, yet absolutely stunning. She knows so much about working with all different skin types and types of makeup looks to create the perfect personalized look for my wedding party! She had me upload my inspiration photos and consulted with me and my own facial anatomy and hair texture and length to make the perfect makeup and hair look for my wedding day and it was better than anything I could have dreamed of. She continuously checked in throughout our entire process of working together and was so communicative and open to questions. While we were getting ready, Kim had such a calming, grounding energy that REALLY helped with my nerves and made my wedding morning such a special experience. She is so warm and friendly yet chill and really made us all feel so beautiful. She did our absolute dream hair and makeup for myself, my mom, my maid of honor, and one of our guests and all four of us kept looking in mirrors throughout the day saying "how do I look this good?!" TL;DR: Kim Baker Beauty is fantastic and you should absolutely book them!

When looking for a hair & makeup artist, as a queer couple, we were a little apprehensive about finding an artist who would be well-versed in hair & makeup for couples and weddings outside of heteronormative traditions. My partner was a little worried about finding someone who would "get it" in terms of their style--more minimal and masculine--and who wouldn't try to push them into doing a more feminine style. Kim and Audra both totally got it!

Kim was super communicative throughout the whole process and was so great to work with. Due to unforeseen circumstances the week of our wedding, Kim couldn't make it--but she immediately organized one of her other artists, Audra, who did a truly superb job.

My partner and I both got hair and makeup services. I had a more classic bridal look and my partner had more minimal makeup and their short hair styled. We both absolutely loved the way we looked and felt amazing on our wedding day! We wanted a calm, chill morning while getting ready for our wedding and Audra was lovely, so kind and easy to talk to, and had a very calm energy. Our hair and makeup lasted extremely well throughout the evening, even through hours of dancing!

Kim and Audra are total pros and made us feel stunning on our wedding day. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Kim was AMAZING from the time I met with her all the way through the wedding day!!! I couldn’t have imagined a better make-up artist. My make-up was exactly what I wanted and she was so sweet and very communicative throughout the process. She took every piece of feedback from the trial and made magic happen. She also brought in Alli to assist with bridesmaid makeup and do my hair which also turned out exactly how I wanted. I couldn’t be any happier with the two of them.

I also knew NOTHING about skin care before contacting her about my wedding makeup and now I have never had better skin. My acne is so much more manageable and I feel more confident in my skin. I am so incredibly happy I found her. I will always remember how she helped make my wedding day so incredibly special!
