My husband and I were married on December 10, 2022 and recently received our full wedding album back from Kelsey. She did a phenomenal job. Not only is she a brilliant photographer, but she was exactly what we needed and wanted on our wedding day, and provided such a sweet, calm, gentle presence that we so thoroughly enjoyed. She gave us direction for flattering angles and poses, she was so accommodating for our Atlanta wedding and Savannah engagement shoot (she's in NC!), and she knows exactly where to be in order to capture the moments and memories that matter the most to us! We are still reeling!

Kelsey Nelson was our wedding photographer in Feb 2022. She and her work are OUTSTANDING! We could not have asked for a more personable, creative, kind, flexible, or talented photographer! My husband and I hired Kelsey for our wedding, initially planned for 2020, then rescheduled to 2021 due to the pandemic. She photographed our engagement photos, my bridal portraits, and our wedding photos. Not only are all of our photos absolutely spectacular (a given when Kelsey so much as touches a camera), she was also there to help me with every step of the wedding planning process, offering advice and support the entire time. She helped us navigate rescheduling our wedding during a pandemic, something so obviously not in her job requirements, with grace, professionalism, and assurance as if she had done this before.
For both our engagement session and my bridal portraits, the weather was less than ideal (think rain, cold, gross, not ideal for her gorgeous light and airy style). Our travel constraints prevented us from rescheduling, though Kelsey offered so nicely to do so. Absolutely no one who has seen the photos could have guessed how terrible it was outside, how little light Kelsey had to work with, or how awkward both of us feel in front of a camera. She pulled off some kind of magic.
If my husband and I were given a choice to only hire only one vendor from our truly awesome list of vendors for our wedding, it would be Kelsey a thousand times over. I cannot recommend her enough.

My husband and I hired Kelsey for our wedding, and I must say she was my favorite vendor to work with! I had a bridal portrait session with her in June before our September wedding, and I cannot express enough how amazing our whole experience was. Kelsey was a dream to work with!! As soon as I found her website and her portfolio of photos, I knew I wanted to book her to be our photographer. As a testament to how committed she is to her photographer, she walked all around downtown Raleigh with us on a chilly day in October taking our engagement pictures while she was about 7 months pregnant!! She is very professional but also very sweet and relatable, and made us feel comfortable during our whole engagement session and our wedding day. My husband and I hired Kelsey because we loved her style! We live in South Florida and flew up to NC to do our engagement shoot with her and it couldn't have gone better. She posed us perfectly so we didn't look too posed but didn't look like we were awkwardly just standing there either. When we started looking for photographers, I knew it was going to be an important decision because after your wedding day you really only walk away with two things- your husband and your photos. We had been told time and time again that your wedding day goes by in the blink of an eye so we wanted to have photos that would capture the day and the moments we missed. Kelsey delivered that and then some. We found Kelsey through our venue's (Melrose Knitting Mill) preferred vendor list. There is a reason she is on there- her work is phenomenal and she is very familiar with the venue and how to make the space and bridal party shine. From start to finish, Kelsey was amazing to work with. We first met her at her in home office and immediately clicked right away. She was organized throughout the entire process and was top of all communication. She remembered things from our story of how we met and even sent us a little avocado card during the months when we were planning to check in on us. I think it is important to have someone who notices and pays attention to the details and that's what Kelsey did. Kelsey took the vision we had and brought it to reality and even made sure we captured all the photos with various family members we wanted along the way. It was a pure joy to work with Kelsey and her laid back and even keeled temperament put myself and the rest of the bridal party at ease during the entire process. I highly recommend booking Kelsey and having her capture your special day. Her photos are truly amazing and are something we will treasure forever!
