Kay's Cupcakes is a Kalamazoo, Michigan home-based bakery specializing in cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and cookies for all occasions. The small-business owner is Kathleen (Kay) Hess who has resided in Kalamazoo since 1988.

Kay has crafted custom cakes and cupcakes for traditional and themed weddings, working face-to-face with each bride and groom to create their unique combination of flavors, colors and themes.

Because Kay's Cupcakes is a locally-owned home-based business, each order is truly custom, from the planning to the baking, decorating and packaging. Kay works with each customer herself to create the flavor, color, theme, filling and topping that the customer is dreaming of.

Kay's has made countless custom sugar cookies for birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers and other events. She specializes in scratch sugar cookies and has perfected the recipe to achieve a flavorful, yet tender cookie with the perfect texture to accommodate custom royal icing designs.
