Trust me - I've done my own research and interviews with around 4-5 photographers, and I'm so so happy I went with Katie (who also came highly recommended from a few friends). I purchased the wedding package from Katie that included an engagement shoot (which we did in beautiful Malibu) and our wedding day, and I added additional hours for 10-hour coverage. I would describe her style as light and classic - you can tell her photography is not "trendy" and will be timeless as you refer back to the photos over during the course of your marriage.

The reason I would recommend Katie is not only her exceptional photography skills, but because of her personality and her ability to direct the couple. I never realized how important the personality of a photographer is on your wedding day. It makes sense because you're spending the entire day with her! I have never gotten my photograph taken professionally, and she made my husband and I feel so at ease during our engagement session. She told us exactly how to pose, walk, look at each other - and we NEEDED that guidance or else we would have looked hopeless. The photos were so romantic and candid. Because we did the engagement session, I was already so comfortable with her on my wedding day and felt like I was being photographed by a friend. She was incredible on the day of the wedding with herding my family members and keeping us all on schedule. My parents and in-laws were so impressed with her. Hands down, do not wait to book her. My co-worker recommended Katie when I was searching for my wedding and we loved her timeless and romantic style. We had already done a full engagement shoot but still did a mini session with Katie to get to know her better and vice versa, and we had so much fun with her, and appreciated her guidance as we had no idea what we were doing. I knew even from our initial conversation her positive energy, knowledge, and passion radiated through the phone. She went WAY over and beyond to make our wedding day special and cannot thank her enough. When booking vendors, you want to find someone you trust to be a part of your A-team (especially to capture your special day), but even more so the people who are with you ALL DAY. Katie was a joy to be around, she accommodated my complicated family dynamic and made everyone feel special; It was like having another friend at the wedding. While Katie captured a beautiful day for us, I also feel like we gained a friend in the process, and a long-time photographer to capture more special moments in the future.

What can I even say about Katie? I mean given, we had initially only wanted to work with her for the 12 hours wedding but then ended up booking her for our 1) engagement puppy shoot in Malibu 2) Rehearsal dinner 3) Extended time at the wedding >12 hours and 4) another post wedding shoot… I think that pretty much summarizes how much we LOVE her and her work.

You can tell that Katie truly loves what she does by how she treats her clients and each session. Geoff and I were so happy that we listened to our gut when we first jumped on a call with her to discuss initial planning, she immediately put us at ease after we explained how we had PTSD from rescheduling our wedding 6x across 2 different continents. She reassured us that should anything happen, we’d be partners and work it out together, thank goodness we actually had the wedding though! Sixth times the charm!

I also loved that she doesn’t “force” a couple to buy an album package in her pricing but rather it’s an add-on. For me, I spent months searching for the perfect photographer and I knew what I wanted in my album so having that optionality really helped me decide as well.

Katie is flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to capture the best moments. This included spending an extra hour with us discussing all of our “dream shots” at a Starbucks when it was already closed, carrying one of our pups when we were walking uphill in Malibu, staying at the hotel the night before to make sure she’s energized for the next day, bringing her own ladder to the venue so we can get a group photo, agreeing to do our rehearsal dinner photos literally 5 hours beforehand, and so much more! Katie might not have remembered she did all these things to make her clients (us) feel so special because she’s just a kind soul like that but we for sure remember every kind thing that she did and appreciate her so much for it!

We also LOVE her California light elegant editing style and she knew exactly how to “pose” me as I am very self-conscious post covid weight. She literally got all the best angles and even for someone as picky as myself, I couldn’t find anything to critique but instead have been sharing a picture every single day, sometimes two pictures in one day because of how much we loved them!

Katie has a great eye for both getting those traditional portrait pictures but also the landscape pictures that Geoff and I love so much. She truly is a master in her craft. I know I sound so mushy when I write this out but we truly feel like that Katie is a new friend that we’ll continue to have and cherish in the years to come. She becomes more than your photographer who obviously does a kick-ass job to document EVERY single aspect of your wedding – from the details, to the getting ready, to the ceremony, to the intimate moments, to the reception, to the food, to things that you didn’t even know you wanted pictures of.

Ok this is obviously getting too long but I just can’t say enough good things about katie. In summary, her attention to detail, her creativity, her capturing moment skills, and her editing far exceeded our expectations and without a doubt, I know you’d feel the same if you booked with her. All in all, the value of having Katie as our photographer far exceeded the cost. I am already looking forward to our 5 year vow-renewal so we can work with Katie again and cannot recommend her more than enough to all of our friends, family, and couples who are looking for the best photos ever captured for their wedding! She is simply the best and we miss her already!

Katie is without a doubt one of the greatest decisions we made for our wedding day! We knew from the moment we first sat down with her to go over pricing, style, and expectations. Our wedding day was such a spectacular day, and it would not have been the same without her there! Katie was nothing short of sweet, kind, and professional! As a bride during a pandemic there was a lot of uneasiness but she was so helpful in assuring us everything we wanted photographed would be achieved, and she was right! My husband and I were hopeful we wouldn’t be awkward in front of the camera but for our engagement shoot, wedding day, and even our follow up wedding shoot (on a day we intended to have our large reception after previously having an intimate wedding ceremony in the middle of shutdowns) we felt like we had a dear friend photographing us. Her friendly personality really allowed us to have so much fun during our sessions with her, and now we will forever have the most amazing pictures that capture so many beautiful moments! She has an exceptional eye for lighting and it makes every photo she takes just dreamy, and everything she shoots turns out to be pure magic! Due to COVID, my Dec. 2020 wedding was rescheduled multiple times, and Katie has been nothing but accommodating and so understanding and helpful. COVID also hit at the time that we were scheduling our engagement shoot with Katie, so that also required multiple reschedules as well. Needless to say, she was such a kind and patient soul through every situation, even emailing me helpful information about how to get COVID tests in the area, etc! She truly goes above and beyond!

I had initially reached out to Katie to ask about her availability and when I mentioned our venue and date, she responded with the most detailed, thoughtful, and professional email I've ever received, not just in this wedding planning process but even in my professional life! She suggested a detailed timeline for the day for the best hours in the sun we could get, with graphs and everything! And this was before we even hired her, let alone talked on the phone!

She is so sweet and personable - just the kind of person you'd want as a friend, and especially someone you'd want around you on your special day. We ended up having a small COVID-friendly backyard wedding and will be doing the bigger celebration later, but she went all out for our mini-wedding and truly made us feel like she wanted to be there and help us out as much as possible. She is also a super skilled photographer and managed to make us look beautiful and very natural, when we are normally not very comfortable in front of the camera!

We cannot wait to see her again for our bigger wedding! Katie's prices are worth every penny - you are paying for her talent, but also her professional skill and true care into your special day.

Hiring Katie was easily the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding! We were looking for a photographer who has a soft, romantic feel and is great with lighting. While Katie fit our initial criteria, we didn’t realize how wonderful she truly was until we started working with her. Katie did our engagement shoot, family shoot, and she recently shot our wedding. Katie is SO friendly and makes it a point to genuinely connect with her clients. She is extremely easy to work with and has made us feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera. Our wedding was originally scheduled for April and we finally were able to have it on August 13th. Due to COVID, we had several last-minute changes to our wedding day (including switching our venue 2 weeks before) and she had no problem being flexible and assuring us she would be there. She did an awesome job coordinating a timeline and directing us and our guests to get the shots we really wanted. She returned a MASSIVE sneak peek to us about a week after our wedding and we were absolutely blown away. Her photos captured our day perfectly and we are so thrilled with what she accomplished. Katie was the best - from the first moment we met her, we felt totally comfortable and knew she was going to be the perfect wedding photographer. She was super easy to talk to, and made us feel comfortable and natural during our engagement session (which is key for beautiful photos!).
