  Kindest, most talented photographer

  If you are a California bride or groom looking for a talented photographer for your wedding, please stop your research and look no further than Katie Jackson. Trust me - I've done my own research and interviews with around 4-5 photographers, and I'm so so happy I went with Katie (who also came highly recommended from a few friends). I purchased the wedding package from Katie that included an engagement shoot (which we did in beautiful Malibu) and our wedding day, and I added additional hours for 10-hour coverage. I would describe her style as light and classic - you can tell her photography is not "trendy" and will be timeless as you refer back to the photos over during the course of your marriage.
  
  The reason I would recommend Katie is not only her exceptional photography skills, but because of her personality and her ability to direct the couple. I never realized how important the personality of a photographer is on your wedding day. It makes sense because you're spending the entire day with her! I have never gotten my photograph taken professionally, and she made my husband and I feel so at ease during our engagement session. She told us exactly how to pose, walk, look at each other - and we NEEDED that guidance or else we would have looked hopeless. The photos were so romantic and candid. Because we did the engagement session, I was already so comfortable with her on my wedding day and felt like I was being photographed by a friend. She was incredible on the day of the wedding with herding my family members and keeping us all on schedule. My parents and in-laws were so impressed with her. I know I will be reaching out to Katie to help me with holiday cards and professional headshots in the future. Thank you so much, Katie!

  Katie is simply the best

  Due to COVID, my Dec. 2020 wedding was rescheduled multiple times, and Katie has been nothing but accommodating and so understanding and helpful. COVID also hit at the time that we were scheduling our engagement shoot with Katie, so that also required multiple reschedules as well. Needless to say, she was such a kind and patient soul through every situation, even emailing me helpful information about how to get COVID tests in the area, etc! She truly goes above and beyond!
  
  I had initially reached out to Katie to ask about her availability and when I mentioned our venue and date, she responded with the most detailed, thoughtful, and professional email I've ever received, not just in this wedding planning process but even in my professional life! She suggested a detailed timeline for the day for the best hours in the sun we could get, with graphs and everything! And this was before we even hired her, let alone talked on the phone!
  
  She is so sweet and personable - just the kind of person you'd want as a friend, and especially someone you'd want around you on your special day. We ended up having a small COVID-friendly backyard wedding and will be doing the bigger celebration later, but she went all out for our mini-wedding and truly made us feel like she wanted to be there and help us out as much as possible. She is also a super skilled photographer and managed to make us look beautiful and very natural, when we are normally not very comfortable in front of the camera!
  
  We cannot wait to see her again for our bigger wedding! Katie's prices are worth every penny - you are paying for her talent, but also her professional skill and true care into your special day.

  Katie is the best

  Hands down, do not wait to book her. My co-worker recommended Katie when I was searching for my wedding and we loved her timeless and romantic style. We had already done a full engagement shoot but still did a mini session with Katie to get to know her better and vice versa, and we had so much fun with her, and appreciated her guidance as we had no idea what we were doing. I knew even from our initial conversation her positive energy, knowledge, and passion radiated through the phone. She went WAY over and beyond to make our wedding day special and cannot thank her enough. When booking vendors, you want to find someone you trust to be a part of your A-team (especially to capture your special day), but even more so the people who are with you ALL DAY. Katie was a joy to be around, she accommodated my complicated family dynamic and made everyone feel special; It was like having another friend at the wedding.   Best wedding photographer ever - seriously book now!

  What can I even say about Katie? I mean given, we had initially only wanted to work with her for the 12 hours wedding but then ended up booking her for our 1) engagement puppy shoot in Malibu 2) Rehearsal dinner 3) Extended time at the wedding >12 hours and 4) another post wedding shoot… I think that pretty much summarizes how much we LOVE her and her work.
  
  You can tell that Katie truly loves what she does by how she treats her clients and each session. Geoff and I were so happy that we listened to our gut when we first jumped on a call with her to discuss initial planning, she immediately put us at ease after we explained how we had PTSD from rescheduling our wedding 6x across 2 different continents. She reassured us that should anything happen, we’d be partners and work it out together, thank goodness we actually had the wedding though! Sixth times the charm!
  
  I also loved that she doesn’t “force” a couple to buy an album package in her pricing but rather it’s an add-on. For me, I spent months searching for the perfect photographer and I knew what I wanted in my album so having that optionality really helped me decide as well.
  
  Katie is flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to capture the best moments. This included spending an extra hour with us discussing all of our “dream shots” at a Starbucks when it was already closed, carrying one of our pups when we were walking uphill in Malibu, staying at the hotel the night before to make sure she’s energized for the next day, bringing her own ladder to the venue so we can get a group photo, agreeing to do our rehearsal dinner photos literally 5 hours beforehand, and so much more! Katie might not have remembered she did all these things to make her clients (us) feel so special because she’s just a kind soul like that but we for sure remember every kind thing that she did and appreciate her so much for it!
  
  We also LOVE her California light elegant editing style and she knew exactly how to “pose” me as I am very self-conscious post covid weight. She literally got all the best angles and even for someone as picky as myself, I couldn’t find anything to critique but instead have been sharing a picture every single day, sometimes two pictures in one day because of how much we loved them!
  
  Katie has a great eye for both getting those traditional portrait pictures but also the landscape pictures that Geoff and I love so much. She truly is a master in her craft. I know I sound so mushy when I write this out but we truly feel like that Katie is a new friend that we’ll continue to have and cherish in the years to come. She becomes more than your photographer who obviously does a kick-ass job to document EVERY single aspect of your wedding – from the details, to the getting ready, to the ceremony, to the intimate moments, to the reception, to the food, to things that you didn’t even know you wanted pictures of.
  
  Ok this is obviously getting too long but I just can’t say enough good things about katie. In summary, her attention to detail, her creativity, her capturing moment skills, and her editing far exceeded our expectations and without a doubt, I know you’d feel the same if you booked with her. All in all, the value of having Katie as our photographer far exceeded the cost. I am already looking forward to our 5 year vow-renewal so we can work with Katie again and cannot recommend her more than enough to all of our friends, family, and couples who are looking for the best photos ever captured for their wedding! She is simply the best and we miss her already!

  Yes! Hire Katie Jackson!

  Katie is without a doubt one of the greatest decisions we made for our wedding day! We knew from the moment we first sat down with her to go over pricing, style, and expectations. Our wedding day was such a spectacular day, and it would not have been the same without her there! Katie was nothing short of sweet, kind, and professional! As a bride during a pandemic there was a lot of uneasiness but she was so helpful in assuring us everything we wanted photographed would be achieved, and she was right! My husband and I were hopeful we wouldn’t be awkward in front of the camera but for our engagement shoot, wedding day, and even our follow up wedding shoot (on a day we intended to have our large reception after previously having an intimate wedding ceremony in the middle of shutdowns) we felt like we had a dear friend photographing us. Her friendly personality really allowed us to have so much fun during our sessions with her, and now we will forever have the most amazing pictures that capture so many beautiful moments! She has an exceptional eye for lighting and it makes every photo she takes just dreamy, and everything she shoots turns out to be pure magic! We absolutely recommend and hope to have her capture all of our future life events!

  Katie is absolutely amazing!

  Hiring Katie was easily the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding! We were looking for a photographer who has a soft, romantic feel and is great with lighting. While Katie fit our initial criteria, we didn’t realize how wonderful she truly was until we started working with her. Katie did our engagement shoot, family shoot, and she recently shot our wedding. Katie is SO friendly and makes it a point to genuinely connect with her clients. She is extremely easy to work with and has made us feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera. She has allowed us to be candid and playful and you can see our personalities come through in our photos. She's very complimentary while shooting and gives encouragement when needed!
  
  Our wedding was originally scheduled for April and we finally were able to have it on August 13th. Due to COVID, we had several last-minute changes to our wedding day (including switching our venue 2 weeks before) and she had no problem being flexible and assuring us she would be there. She did an awesome job coordinating a timeline and directing us and our guests to get the shots we really wanted. She returned a MASSIVE sneak peek to us about a week after our wedding and we were absolutely blown away. Her photos captured our day perfectly and we are so thrilled with what she accomplished. I have received so many compliments about how incredible Katie’s photo are – and it’s very well deserved! Katie is a amazing person and we are so grateful we found her! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone 😊

  Katie is Amazing!!

  Hiring Kate as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Her work was stunning - she captured so many special moments and all of the friends and family that we wanted to make sure we saw in our photography. Her style is romantic, beautiful and tasteful without being overly stylized. She is also a pleasure to work with and a very calming presence on your big day. She was thorough, prepared and thoughtful about our needs and families. Could not recommend Katie more.

  Outstanding.

  One of the best decisions I've ever made in my life was booking Katie Jackson to be my wedding photographer. Her style was exactly what we were looking for - romantic and timeless. Katie is consistently professional, organized, and ridiculously talented. She's also incredibly sweet and patient and exceptional under pressure since my wedding was all kinds of a hot mess. We didn't think we'd get a single good photo out of that day but she has absolutely delivered above and beyond. Thank you so much Katie - you're an angel and we couldn't have hoped for a more talented and kind-hearted person to be with us on such an important day.

  Look no further!! Katie was amazing from our initial "interview" meeting through the engagement picture session, meticulous though the wedding day and post wedding (finalizing and album etc). She totally took the time to get to know who we were so our personalities showed in the final pictures. She truly captured what a gorgeous day it was on camera. She also made sure she asked us if we wanted certain shots (and many we wouldn't have even thought about!) and snapped those as well.   Look no further!! Katie was amazing from our initial "interview" meeting through the engagement picture session, meticulous though the wedding day and post wedding (finalizing and album etc). She totally took the time to get to know who we were so our personalities showed in the final pictures. She truly captured what a gorgeous day it was on camera. She also made sure she asked us if we wanted certain shots (and many we wouldn't have even thought about!) and snapped those as well.   There are no words that can describe how amazing Katie was to me. From the start we hit it off and I knew she had to be our photographer. She did our engagement portrait session as well as our wedding photography. I sent her so many pins from Pinterest and had so many requests and she was so accommodating on everything! She was so kind and patient with me.
  I always had a million questions and sent her an email what seemed like every day of our engagement and Katie would reply in such a cheery tone. I know she was super busy with all of her other weddings, but she always made the time to reply to me still.
  The month leading up to the wedding, Katie kept in close contact with me with the timeline and any requests I had and even went to the venue with us to do a walk through! She is so detailed that it is amazing.
  The day of the wedding, things seemed hectic and we were running a little behind on picture time, but she kept her cool with everything which made me feel so much better. She was able to work with our billion family members as well as my 16 bridesmaids and got amazing shots of them all.
  She is so personable that I felt like I was working with a friend rather than just a photographer. I would recommend her to anyone I know that is getting married! She's the best!

  We love Katie! Katie photographed our wedding and very kindly photographed our rehearsal dinner instead of the engagement session in our package, since we were not local.
  She also was very accommodating in setting up a private viewing gallery and letting us approve photos before she used them for her blog etc. I also appreciated that we contractually agreed on a date by which we'd get all the photos back from Katie, and she did get them to us by that date. Trust me, you will be dying to see the photos, so you want to know when they're coming!
  
  Just in general, Katie was so friendly, responsive, and professional. With a photographer, you want someone who is artistic AND a good, reliable businessperson-- that is Katie! She also is very pleasant and sweet so having her there on our wedding day, giving us very encouraging direction during portraits etc., was really great.
  She is also a wonderful photographer! We got our photos back a few weeks ago and we are just thrilled. She took so many beautiful shots of the whole day, which have been a real joy to look through. Her style is so pretty and romantic and she has a great eye for expressive faces and special details. The portraits, family shots, bridal party, etc., all came out great. (This was a challenge because our timeline got messed up and we were rushed during many of the formal portraits. Good under pressure!) One reason we chose Katie was we loved her candid shots and random pictures of guests, and she did not disappoint in that category either; we have many fabulous photos of our family and friends from our wedding day, which we will always treasure in addition to the zillions of photos of ourselves and our immediate families.
  One thing we didn't really think about but ended up being great was that the image gallery she provides is really pleasant and easy to use, and she sent us our USB with all our images in a beautiful package with a lovely note. So happy we worked with Katie Jackson!

  I'm not sure my review will do Katie's work a justice; she (as an individual) and her work are phenomenal. Quite honestly, having her as my wedding photographer was probably the best investment my family made in the entire wedding. She is so organized, professional, on top of things, and so fun to be around as well. Her photos are stunning, and you can really tell she puts in a lot of time and effort into making sure everything turns out perfect. I love every single picture she has taken of our wedding day, not a single complaint about them! I highly recommend her.

  Yes, Katie Jackson was my wedding photographer. I would definitely recommend her ! Our recent wedding was this past September. It was a very beautiful yet hot day in Pasadena. We had our wedding in the beautiful Pasadena Christian Church with amazing stained glass. The shots Katie captured of the ceremony and church are amazing!! And the emotions that were felt through the ceremony was captured and still brings me back to that moment. Both my husband and I had an amazing experience shooting with Katie. During our bride and groom session was probably the second best part of the wedding experience for us. (First was the actually getting married haha) Katie made us feel so comfortable and clear direction on how to pose for the shots we wanted. We also had a small time slot and she was so great with the tight timeline that we had. Katie enjoyed shooting our wedding so much she stayed to shoot our exit even though it was out of time slot. To quote her " I just love you guys so much I just can't stop ,everything is beautiful"
