Kahu Kale was the perfect officiant to marry us. He met with us prior to the wedding to get to know more about us individually and as a couple. Because we met prior to the wedding we got to know each other and it truly felt like a friend was marrying us.

Being Hawaiian, we truly appreciated his incorporations of the culture and history of who are and where we come from. His humbling words brought tears to not only my eyes but my families as well. He spoke with passion and heartfelt wisdom. BIG MAHALO Kahu Kale; we are so grateful for you!

If I could give a 10, I would! He was amazing!! We went with the full traditional Hawaiian wedding and his ceremony was the best I've ever heard. Everyone who attended commented on him and how his "song" brought tears to their eyes! Thank you Kahu!

Everyone enjoyed Kahu so much. People were spellbound by his delivery and complimentary throughout the day. He is also a part of Manutea Nui E, so it was great to have him be a part of both the ceremony and the reception. His message was universal. I think it touched a lot of people. He played off our individual personalities as well as with the guests' reactions. It felt really organic and spiritual with that added touch of Hawaiian flare. He really contributed to the sincerity of our vows and commitment, the tears and the joy, and I wouldn't change a thing about our big day.

I'm not exactly sure how to express how blessed we feel to have had Kale as the officiant for our destination wedding. We reviewed Kale's website (http://kahukaalekahi.com/) spoke with him a few times on the phone before our wedding and just KNEW he was the perfect person for our wedding. Kale's service is beautiful, fun, modern, cultural and captivating. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the 30 minute ceremony and loved Kale. He his kind, funny, handsome, accomodating and flexible. He spoke with such love and the words were absolutely perfect. He even showed up to our rehearsal which I'm told is fairly uncommon on Maui. I hope you enjoy our ceremony video so you can get a sense for how special he is. I can't recommend him highly enough. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions. Kahu is awesome! We and our family love him! He was so flexible and incorporated Hawaiian culture and our ideas and made it a very special ceremony. We were married September 27, 2014 at The Plantation House in Kapalua.

Thank you Kahu,

Bob and Christie

We were recommended to Kale by our venue coordinator (Jenny of Trilogy Excursions) and she swore he was the best on the island! We wanted a spiritual, but not religious ceremony by a local Hawaiian and really liked what he had to say about his ceremonies on his website. Once I learned that Kale is more of a text/phone person than an email person, my nerves were calmed. We actually met Kale in person shortly after we arrived in Maui, as he suggested to go kayaking with him (he also runs kayak tours at Camp Olowalu which I HIGHLY suggest!) and we all got to know each other better. Hawaii is home to Kale and his knowledge of the islands, traditions, and meanings are truly felt when talking with him. On our wedding day, Kale performed the most beautiful, heartfelt ceremony. We had many of our guests coming up to us afterwards to tell us it was one of the most beautiful ceremonies they had been to. Considering that is the most important part of the day, we are so glad Kale was able play a special part of our wedding day! It was truly unforgettable and part of that was due to our beautiful, meaningful ceremony! Here's to living the Aloha!

Kahu Kaalekahi was a NO SHOW!!

Kahu Kaalekahi knew about our wedding over a year in advance. A couple weeks before the big day, he emailed me saying he would collect payment the day-of.

Minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to begin, my planner comes into the bridal suite asking where the minister is (because I had booked him myself and not through them) and all I have to say is “I don’t know - he told me he would be here”

We waited and pushed back the ceremony as long as possible. THANKFULLY our amazing ukulele player - Alika Nako'oka - was an ordained minister and saved the day!!!!

Kahu Kaalekahi also never said - and has yet to say - anything to me regarding the situation but instead chose to act like it never happened. This may have been just another day to him, but it was one of the biggest days of our lives.

Totally unprofessional and I would not recommend him. My planner will be removing him from their list of preferred vendors.

Instead, I recommend Alika Nako'oka who did a fabulous job (even on the spot).
