We could not have done it without her!

Our wedding would not have functioned without Kiara. She juggled all our many vendors, a changing schedule, a table cloth snafu, eccentric family members, a big wedding party, and everything in between. Her presence was calming and her work was top notch. Everyone kept complimenting us on how smoothly everything ran. We can't recommend her enough!

Only Regret? Not hiring Kiara for planning services!

Kiara is a DREAM of a florist.

In 2019 we hired Kiara to provide the floral for our wedding. After several postponements due to the pandemic we finally had a party in 2021. During these 2 years together Kiara helped guide us emotionally and logically through these changing plans. During this time she maintained professional, responsive and kind.

In the two years Kiara provided floral for both our elopement and intimate party. Her design and knowledge showed in each project.

Our ONLY regret is not hiring her for planning services.

Incredibly talented planner and florist

Kiara was an absolute joy to work with. As a bride who works in the creative industry, I was eager to be more actively involved in all of the planning and design decisions and Kiara completely understood me. She has infallible taste and a perfectionist's eye. She transformed our wedding day into a visual masterpiece that was everything we dreamed of and more, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Not What We Asked For

We booked K Hancock as a florist, a day of coordinator and a 5 hour planning package about 8 months before our wedding.
There were quite a few issues with meeting time mix ups and the initial excitement we felt in our first call quickly died down after we decided to work with her and had locked in our first payment. There were a couple of times we thought we should jump ship and cut our losses but we had already put down a large deposit. We decided to be optimistic that everything would work out on wedding day.

The flowers on our wedding day were stunning. She is no doubt an extremely talented florist , but it was not what we asked for or envisioned. We wanted lots of cacti mixed with lavender and some florals as our wedding flowers but we got an abdance of dark purple roses.

We were treated like we should know how weddings work and that we do this all the time. It felt like we were supposed to tell her what we liked, then keep our fingers crossed, our eyes closed and hope that things potentially turn out on our wedding day to our liking.

We asked for a floral sash, something pretty and feminine to complement the bouquet. Instead we got a full tropical grass sash that is typically what men in Hawaii wear on their wedding day. It was very masculine and completely out of place with the rest of the wedding florals. It looked nothing like the inspiration pictures she showed us.

The day of our wedding I didn’t see her until 20 minutes before I walked down the aisle and the first thing she said was, “I’ve been texting you and you haven’t responded”. (I had given my phone to my sister so I wasn’t answering emails as I walked to my future wife).
It was a very strange greeting on such an important day. No “How are you feeling? Things are going to be great!”
Just a no nonsense and honestly kind of rude vibe which personally made me feel uneasy prior to walking down the aisle. My wife had a similar experience as well with her first interaction on wedding day. She seemed annoyed the entirety of the wedding.

She told us two days before our wedding that she would be leaving at 6pm. That would have been the very middle of our cocktail hour since our wedding started at 5pm. It was confusing that the person paid to coordinate the day would be leaving an hour after the event started. We told her we would like her to stay later and she obliged but then put a passive aggressive post on instagram about how she had to “stay late” at a wedding.

Our wedding day timeline had issues as our wedding performer didn’t know what time or how many performances she was supposed to be doing because multiple timelines were sent including one a couple hours before the wedding started. We were informed of the issue and it stressed us out as that should be something your day of coordinator handles.

We also had a wedding outfit emergency of red wine being spilled on my wife’s white tux and there was no emergency kit to help with that.

The largest chunk of money that we paid to one vendor, besides the wedding venue, went to K Hancock Events, so to put such an investment on something only to have most parts of it fall through were truly heartbreaking.
We chose her based on what we saw and really liked on her instagram and her reality tv floral show that she was a contestant but we didn’t get what we expected.
Having one person do multiple jobs (i.e floral design and coordinating) seemed to all get lumped together and not treated as individual job assignments.

This review was really hard to write because we wanted all of our vendors to be either female, lgbtq+ or poc, so we took the vendor selection process very seriously. This was a wild disappointment for us but we wanted to be honest about our experience.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
