There is perhaps nothing more nerve racking about weddings than selecting a photographer, particularly a photographer who will understand the bride and groom as a couple, and provide a final product that will be viewed again and again over the course of a marriage. I am so thrilled to say that Jon is precisely the type of photographer that met all of our needs.

Jon eagerly took on some of the challenges we threw at him, a family based, traditional engagement ceremony, formal engagement pictures in the rain, and the penultimate wedding photos. He handled each session with such ease and was so joyful. He makes you forget that you are having your photo taken and allows you to relax - which makes for stunning pictures. He also became one of the family members, we are already looking for ways to work with him again.

My husband and I were super happy with our decision to have Jon as our wedding photographer. We had a strict budget and Jon was incredibly flexible to maximize the bang for our buck. He was funny and kind while also being a bit stern when need be to get people moving on to follow our timeline. It was a really perfectly professional balance. Jon is an amazing photographer. My wife and I lived in the DC area but have chosen to do our traditional engagement ( Ghana Style) and our wedding ceremony in Raleigh NC. In our search for a professional photographer, a lady recommended Jon Young to us.
My wife and I perused through some of Jon's Photo gallery and we decided to give him a try. We schedule our engagement on July 7, 2012 at my then fiancé parents home (now my wife).
Jon arrived an hour earlier prior to the start of the event. Jon was very professional and friendly. He captured some outstanding scenes that no one could tell when Jon took those pictures. The engagement pictures were elegant. So we used Jon again in our recent wedding ceremony and again he prove to us he love what he does. Our wedding pictures were stunning. Jon knows how to capture every moment of joy and every segment of emotions during the ceremony. Jon is the man to chose when you need a photographer for any event. He is punctual, malleable, great smile, and entertaining while doing his work with great professionalism.

I was extremely pleased with our wedding photography experience! Jon was great at being an quiet fly on the wall and capturing the little moments that might have slipped past unnoticed. It's the subtle things that make days like that special, and Jon was there to catch those subtle things: my sister and I brushing our crazy curly hair together, my husband looking nervous as he smoothed out the front of his tux before the ceremony. These are the pictures I love looking back at, even more than the traditional formal ones.
Jon was also great to work with. He's easygoing, and he made our family and wedding party feel comfortable. He was prompt with getting our photos back to us, and always responded right away if we had questions throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend his services to any future brides I know!
