My fiancée and I rented her venue with a black history discount on February 23, 2024 for our wedding originally scheduled for December 14, 2024. The original contract allowed for ONE date change (most contracts do). Jackie the owner received a call regarding we needed to change our date in August 2024. Jackie understood and over the phone agreed to change the date to December 13, 2025. We were asked to call her back in December 2014, because she was trying to acquire a larger venue. Jackie stated, “I am trying to get a bigger venue and you both might be interested.” I answered, “let us see it when you get it.” This is our August 2024 phone conversation. November 2024 comes and I get an invoice for payment due from Elegant Lounge By JVs. I was in shock, because we had a full conversation with agreement in August 2024. Several emails, texts, and ignored phone calls with HONEST response back happened. Every email sent requesting a response back had our contact phone numbers added, but all we received was ONE email in January 2025 stating, “ I will call you.” WE NEVER EVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK! Why? NOT, because we did something wrong on our part.
Pay attention to HONEST reviews or you will be scammed without businesses caring about your money lost! We scrambled to find a more reputable venue and secured our wedding for this year.
