We served pie and ice cream instead of cake at our wedding, and it was an absolute hit! We got our pies from the world famous Julian Pie Company, and they were DELICIOUS! Liz Smothers and Linda at the pie company were also amazing to work with. They were very responsive and helpful every time I called or emailed. They were also extremely flexible, and delivered our pies the morning of the wedding, so we did not have to worry about picking them up. If you are looking to an alternative to wedding cake, I HIGHLY recommend going with Julian Apple Pie instead! I also recommend that you try their pie sometime, regardless of if you are interested in serving it at your wedding or not : )

Julian Pie Co. provided a few different pies for our wedding. We had to go and pick them up, since it was the week of Thanksgiving. Other than that, everything was perfect! Be sure to get a few "display" (round) pies, but the rest can be sheet.
