Julia and her team are by far the best! We just loved their style. Julia is so kind and creative. I felt like we were on the same page all day. I am in awe of how she was able to capture everyone at my wedding (200 people) without knowing all of them. Shelly followed me around at cocktail hour and captured some great family and friend group shots. Elkin ran the Photo Booth, which I would highly recommend. It's not a typical booth, it's a photographer and backdrop so you get high quality photos and assurance that no one is cut out of the picture. Julia's on the pricier side but well worth it. Pictures last a lifetime and I love every single one of mine! My sister just booked her for next year as well!

We were first attracted to Julia Newman as she is an incredibly talented photographer, but what makes Julia standout from other skilled photographers is the way she conducts her entire business. Her experience, style, organization, and desire to make the process special for her clients was really unparalleled. We wanted to work with someone we were confident would do a beautiful job and we wouldn't have to worry at all on the wedding day - Julia was the perfect choice! She approaches her work with great care and takes pride in her product. She was a delightful to correspond with throughout the process - responding promptly & clearly to emails and calls. On the wedding day, Julia took charge in a calming but commanding way. Julia has a creative photojournalistic style but understands the importance of the portrait shots for the families as well as part of documenting the event. She made sure all of the portrait shots were wanted were taken and captured the day in a beautifully and stylish manner. We were so happy that we decided to do an engagement shoot where we developed a relationship. You can't underestimate the value of developing a comfort level and understanding of your photographer's style before your wedding day. The engagement shoot was fun to do and we were able to see Julia's high quality work, which allowed us to fully trust her to do the same on the wedding day. I was really glad that Julia set up a call to talk though the day as the wedding was approaching. It really helped to ease my anxiety over the potential pitfalls.

Julia does the little things that make you realize the caliber of her studio. From the PDF presentation "first look" she puts together for the couple to first experience the photos together to the stylish flash drive delivered in a beautifully wooden box with our names & wedding date carved on it, Julia continued to impress us with her thoughtful touches and skilled photography. We highly recommend Julia!!

Julia Newman was fantastic and I am so glad that I booked her for my wedding. I'm an amateur photographer myself and photography was arguably the most important element of the wedding. Julia's experience, style, and ability to make her clients feel comfortable and taken care of was really unparalleled. On the wedding day she thought of things that we forgot and really helped to make everything go smoothly, keep us on schedule with portraits, and I was not disappointed when i saw the pictures just a few short weeks later. She was a key element of the wedding day and I'm really thankful I went with her!! When you're looking for a wedding photographer, don't underestimate experience and quality - Julia has all of that. I was so impressed with the images, and I'm just thrilled with them. Worth every penny.

We got married in New York City, and Julia had so many great ideas on shooting locations and ways to make our portraits stand out from the pack.

Not only are her photos very stylish, she's also a very organized person -- an absolute necessity on a day with so many moving parts.

One side of the family that is very large (50+) has a tradition of taking big group photos at every family function. Julia was able to politely yet efficiently wrangle the troops to get the needed shot; I've been in countless situations were people are standing around like this, just waiting to get their group shots taken. Not Julia. It took five minutes max.

Her team was able to catch the entire range of moments without getting in the way: highlights of the ceremony, funny moments on the dance floor, moving speeches, people goofing off, classic portraits.

I highly recommend going with the photo-booth option that she offers, too. It was a definite crowd pleaser.

It's been almost three years since our wedding and I keep hearing about our "gorgeous" wedding photos from family members and long lost friends on Facebook. I highly recommend her!

Julia was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is a true professional, knows how to get her job done correctly, efficiently, and creatively. She handles large groups of people with ease. Her pictures speak for themselves, but when looking through the 1100 pictures we have from that day, I get a full and complete sense of what happened. Her photojournalistic sensibility is amazing and I have some incredible moments captured that would have lived in my memory only if she wasn't so good at her job. One thing that surprised me was how quickly she was able to get our pictures to us. We had them 2 weeks later - AMAZING! She's fabulous and I feel lucky to have had her document one of the most important days of my life. I feel that photography is the only thing that lasts when the whirlwind day is over. I wouldn't want to trust that to anyone else.

Julia shot our wedding memorial day weekend and our engagement photos before that. She was amazing and the photos were amazing. 2 points on Julia:
1 - If you are thinking of hiring her, just check out her blog. She has up all of her events and you can even sort by location to get a feel of her style in different settings. We got a great feel of her work from her website and we let her do her thing on our wedding day and it came out great.
2 - I liked how organized Julia was. From the day we met, she was talking about schedules with us which made my organized wife very happy. She got all of the information she needed before the wedding so everything ran smoothly that day.

I would love to work with Julia again. Had a great time with her and she worked very hard at our wedding. My wife and I wholeheartedly recommend her.

Julia was the perfect photographer for us! I had seen her work long before I was engaged and I remember saying "this is my photographer." I was not one of those people who planned their wedding for a long time (maybe 5 months) and I never really thought about it before being engaged but the one thing I did know for sure was that I had to have Julia! She was amazing, fun, and talented. She even bought our entire wedding party ice cream, which made for some fantastic photos on the Brooklyn Promenade. Her second photographer and assistant were also fantastic. They manage to capture all the action without being in the way. My album is a true reflection of our day and incorporates so many details. I love that it's not the typical album of everyone facing forward in a straight line - every picture is artistic and interesting. Julia is extremely talented!

My husband and I are thrilled with the photographs and we would HIGHLY recommend her to future couples getting engaged, getting married, having babies.
