I am a NY licensed cosmetologist/beauty professional with over 25 years experience doing hair and make up for celebrities, brides, models, actors, musicians, basically anyone going in front of a camera or audience.
Some of the various jobs I have done hair and make up on include feature films, indi films, commercials,music videos, webisodes, all forms of print- advertising, magazines, cd covers,catalogs, headshots; you name it ( I have probably done it). I worked in Hollywood for 10 years before moving to New York for a relationship around 5 years ago. I live on Long Island and work in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Westchester, all of LI including the North Fork, Hamptons, and the south shore including Fire Island.
My on location services provide each bride with the knowlage they are going to look gorgeous without the hassle of leaving their home or hotel, just like my media jobs with celebrities, I bring my A game to every bride and her family.
Each and every hairstyle is custom tailored to the bride and her dress. I take everything into consideration and create the timeline to accommodate all of the wedding party.

Judie was great to work with and amazing at what she does! I did not want to go with a standard salon because I feel like they always go for the "natural" look and my makeup comes off within a few hours. Judie mostly does makeup for film and fashion so I knew I could trust her to make me look the best I could behind a camera. She worked with me during a trial and subsequent emails/visits to make sure the look was what I wanted. She also supplied a hairdresser who was top notch. On the day of, I not only loved my hair and makeup, but both lasted well past the end of my wedding.

Judie did my hair and makeup for my wedding. I had an awesome experience with her during my engagement pictures session, so I was so excited to have her with me on my wedding day. Since my wedding was very early in the morning, I decide to get her a room in the same hotel my family and I were staying.
I had a wardrobe malfunction incident during my rehearsal dinner where my expensive rented dress pinched both of my arms (close to my arm pits) and left two horrible marks on my skin. I was so upset and worried that the next morning that would be noticed while wearing my strapless wedding dress. I almost came to tears in Judie’s room that night and she calmed me down and said that the makeup would take care of it. In that moment I felt so lucky of having Judie as part of my big day.
Judie worked so hard on my 1920’s hair style and my hair looked gorgeous. Some people during the reception would touch my hair and asked me if that hair was real, oh sure it was!! Lol.
Judie also did a great job covering up those red marks close to my arm pits so that nobody noticed them. My makeup lasted all day and I looked my best.
I hope I can visit Judie once in a while in her salon. She is such an awesome person to be around.

Judie provided hair and makeup services for my wedding and I could not have been more pleased with not only the results, but the overall experience working with her and her team. She was a pleasure to work with and made my entire family feel so comfortable. With everything that was scheduled for the day, my family and I had so much fun working with her! She was very detailed with her work, truly caring about everyone that she worked with and using her craft to highlight the best features for everyone. Her thoroughness was displayed not only during the trial session but also during during the wedding. I was surprised to see that she had created a portfolio which listed and captured details on what colors and products she had used during the trial session. For the level of professionalism (she was punctual and always swiftly replied to my emails), quality (she uses a range of products with many varying shades), and price (her prices are extremely affordable), I would highly recommend Judie without reservation for any event that requires makeup and/or hair services!

A couple of weeks ago I had my engagement photo shoot in Long Island and Judie helped me with my makeup and hair.
Living in Brooklyn I thought that finding someone in Long Island to do the makeover would be best. I found Judie through Weddingwire and her work and experience impressed me online. I contacted her and sent her pictures of what I was looking for, a 1920's look since my wedding will have a 1920's flare. She gave me great advice on the hair and makeup that would be the best for me.
The day the photo shoot came my fiance and I had the pleasure of meeting Judie. She did an awesome job. My fiance was so happy and pleased seeing my transformation. I guess he hadn't seen me so pretty ever before! Lol.
Judie stayed with us during the whole entire photo shoot. She made sure that my hair and make up would be ready for every shot. That meant a lot to me and showed me that she truly cares about her clients.
Judie is not only a very talented makeup artist but also a friendly, fun and down to earth person to work with.
I am very excited that Judie is going to be part of my big day this coming December!!!!!. I feel very blessed of having her as my make up artist for the most special day of my life :).

I love the fact that she was part of this special occasion in my life, because her incredible talent, commitment, and energetic personality are a joy to have around on such a special day. Judie did my hair and makeup for my engagement shoot in the fall of 2013. The talent this woman has, can not be expressed into words. She dearly loves what she does and the results show it. She traveled to my house and even came with us to the photo shoot to do touch ups and enjoy the beauty of the photo location (and hold my photo props!). I can not thank her enough for making that day so awesome and so memorable. We kept in touch for months and discussed plans for my wedding day. She always replies right away, even if she is out of state at another job. She makes you feel like you are her only client and truly cares about your ideas and thoughts about make up and hair do's. On my wedding day she arrived nice and early with a big smile on her face ready to go (6am!) All my girls loved her and loved the make up look she created for each of them. Only positive things could be said about Judie Tallman. I now go to her salon for hair cuts and color every couple of months. Everytime I see her its a joy and her bubbly personality makes your whole day a good one. Thank you again for everything you have done for me.

Judie did my hair and makeup for my entire wedding weekend which also happened to be the weekend of the hurricane. Judie was incredibly professional and when other vendors cancelled bc of transportation issues, Judie honored all the appointments we had and didn't miss a beat. She did beautiful makeup- especially gorgeous eyes and lovely hair. She's also a great value and can do hair and makeup which in my opinion makes life much easier!

I can't rave about Judie enough. Her expierence working on fast paced photoshoots, runway shows and hollywood movie sets is apparent from first meeting her. She is professional, completely on top of her game while still managing to be warm and approachable.
I told her exactly what I wanted and she was able to do it (and even seemed to anticipate the details I hadn't mentioned but wanted). If she has the time, she may take a little bit longer than the typical stylist in a salon who will do your hair then pass you off so they can start working on someone else, because Judie likes to make sure she finishes up with you herself. It's to her credit.
The fact that she moved to New York is a turn of luck for anyone living in New York lucky enough to get an appointment with her. Also if you can book her she is incredibly reasonable, especially considering her expierence.
